6:58 This is an old Russian (It's actually from the Brothers Grimm, who are German, but in Russia it's become a classic) fairy tale called "The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats". It is about how seven little goats disobeyed their mother and opened the door to the wolf, who then ate them, and when the mother goat came home she found only one little goat hiding in the fireplace. Then she cried, but the wolf came to her and said: "Don't cry. I have eaten not your little goats(???). We'd better go for a walk to the forest." When they came to the forest, they saw a hole where a fire was burning and the goat suggested that the wolf jump over the hole. At the end the wolf fell into the pit, his belly burst and all the little goats went back to their mother. So I think it has something to do with the events in the game. (sorry for bad english)

One thing you missed is the codenames (Aurora, Trinity, etc) are named after the car models they sell at the dealership, to obfuscate what "merchcandise" they're actually talking about in case their email or phones are tapped. You can see the cars advertised on the posters throughout the map.

I find it so weird how I've never noticed any of these details even though I've played through all of these maps multiple times. I guess whenever I play this game my brain just goes into "SWAT mode" and tries its best to ignore my surroudings and just try not to die.

1:33 It is indeed a map of Vietnam. More precisely, Bà Rá mountain in Bình Phước province. The colonial French used to have a jail for political prisoner at the foot of the mountain. The province is adjacent to Cambodia so it might be related to human trafficking.

The audio in Russian (6:59) is making me smile every time (because I’m Russian). It’s a recording of a tale “The Wolf and Seven Baby Goats” on Russian. Translating it won’t make much sense - it’s just a tale about a bad wolf. Why is it there - I don’t have a clue. Maybe developers just found something on Russian and put it in the game. But I got one theory. It’s really dark but it could take place in RoN world. Maybe it was played to little girls that were brought from Russia to Los Suenos and were held in this car shop for THIS purpose. The signs for that can be found on the map. It’s dark, yes, but not impossible.

Hey Shane, I actually know someone in the game development community who is extremely familiar with unity. I asked him about Laguna, and he confirmed that it’s just a stock unity asset.

Maybe the "code" section could be something to do with how they're supposed to be handled/moved, how "ready" they are to be sold, or what kinds of client they can be sold to. Moving or hiding someone who's very resistant would be harder than someone who isn't, and a wealthy client wouldn't want their trafficked victim to escape from their home.

The AI swat members should have more voice lines, just to add depth, like: “fuck man… this shit is disgusting, how the fuck can people do this to innocent people..?”

8:58 Venus, Auroras and etc is more likely codes for world regions. All this codes are name of stars, planets and constellations, some of theme can be seen more bright or even be visible in specific world regions. Btw Aurora is more likely is Aurora Borealis, this code can be used for Scandinavia+Finnland+ (Northern) Russia region were it can be observed.

Probably worth noting almost a year later (idk if they added this in since then or if it’s always been this way) there are 8 or so shipping containers in the Port Hokan map that you can find various paraphernalia contained inside. Weapons, drugs, I think one has a stolen car inside etc etc In one however is a shipping container filled with dozens of naked women. When your operator opens the door he sounds shocked and immediately reports it in. The FISA agent then orders the protagonist to close the doors and continue searching non chalantly. The operator then protests saying something about their terrible conditions and that he is going to help them immediately and that he is angered by the FISA agents command and that he will speak to him at the station, sounding quite upset with him. The FISA agent then threatens the operator saying that he will never see him again, they WONT be having a conversation and that if he didn’t close the doors he would be charged with interfering with a federal investigation and orders the operator to close the doors again. I think the player then has the choice to either leave them open and help the women (I don’t know the exact outcome of this) or shut the doors, which you get extra points for at the mission debriefing screen. Regardless, it certainly forces you as the player to start asking ALOT of questions about just how much the feds know and even whether they’re indifferent to it, or worse, actively participating in it. The only reasons I can think of not helping the women is 1) The feds are in on it in their own way (we at least know FISA and ATF aren’t part of the Spider because they wouldn’t be raiding their own shipments). Maybe the feds have their own smuggling operation and the Spider are competitors and they’re leveraging their power to destroy the competition. 2) They literally just don’t care, and only care about what they care about 3) They know about it but know it’s part of some other agencies operation 4) They’re intentionally not rescuing these women now so they can track them to where they go and maybe eventually take down the whole network Multiple of these might also be true at the same time. In any case, the ONLY one that doesn’t make them look like absolute oxygen thieves is the last one and while I understand #4 it’s still pretty f***ed up. 2)

i personally interpreted this map taking place before the port, i figured this was point of sale and the port was exports. i didn’t consider that it could be imports. edit: wait, if the girl in the container from the Port is documented here, she would’ve had to come here first, wouldn’t she? So I was right, this must be processing, and the port must be EXPORTS rather than imports.

I recently finally got Ready Or Not, and when I saw this map I was like “holy shit Shayne hasn’t made a video on this one yet!”

THANK YOU SHANE, the barracks, is a brothel, its easy to miss, but there are a bunch of condoms, both used and new, some lube, and a bed on every single room, the back, the showers doubles as a change room. BTW did you try going outside to the street?, yes you can go out, fairly far as well, by the looks of it, there is 2 things of interest, a sign protesting debanco, and the vehicles parked around. Its easy to miss, but at the front enterance, of the dealership, not the mission, there is a side path to the right, you can take that path to the street. AND on map recomendations, probably the POST OFFICE, it has a lot of interesting finds or THE CLUB, its incredible what you can find with the context of other maps. other than those i havent found anything interesting in other maps, disapointing since i expected the mansion to have alot more. Great video, love the content.

It seems many of these maps had significant changes since you made this series. I hope you revisit some if them as they added some additional details and such

3:17 Small detail but I would argue it's more likely that the port is being used as an "outgoing" for the traffickers and less for "incoming deliveries." We've seen from posters on other maps that women FROM Los Sueños are missing. Since the map doesn't show direction arrows it just shows the web, I would think it's more likely that women would be abducted from the city, "processed and stored for shipping," then shipped off to an international clientele. Why else have such individualized and detailed files for "goods" they are just acting as shippers for? Wouldn't a collective manifest make more sense? I also think it's less likely that they would be receiving in "goods" they then have to take care of, and "market to sellers" themselves (hence the showers, dressing, esc). I would imagine the original sellers would have already done all that to guarantee a sale before incurring the expense of shipping them. Then again the country of origin on the files indicates otherwise but that could also just be an ethnicity tag too. Maybe that's me holding out some small hope that Los Sueños isn't THAT full of evil people but that's how I would interpret that map.

The woman on the projector recording is reading a segment from the fairytale "Wolf and seven little goats", ending seems altered though. Not gonna translate rn as I am on a train. But hope it helps someone else.

I really hope they lean more into the lore of this game in future missions and updates. Maybe mission briefings, suspect interrogations, police interviews, etc. I'd love that, because the lore so far is very intriguing (if a bit barren).

Watching this + the child superstar mission and the gas station mission make me wonder why Vietnam has such a prevelance in this game. It seems like your theory about possibly having won the Vietnam war may be right. Or there’s some other relevance with Vietnam.

Whenever I play this game , all i really care for is stacking bodies. I never thought of lore or any of that. It is interesting though. If gathering evidence had more of an impact in the flow of the game leading to targets aside from points that would be cool.

Something to note from what I have found. The jane doe (the Russian girl) has the nickname, Venus. Now we consistently see "The Venus project" sprouted around everywhere. It is possible that certain women are shipped to this Venus project location (as it is a real place.)

Maybe the reason why all of Los Suenos is deteriorating is because of another operation conducted by Francisco Laguna.

7:01 it’s a russian fairytale “wolf and 7 little goats” the plot is : mamma- goat leaves 7 little goats at home to go somewhere and says not to open doors to anybody but her, she says that she’ll knock on the door and say basically “goatlings, kiddos , please open and unlock the door , let me in” , the wolf tried that , but little goats didn’t recognize his voice as their moms and let him in. Then mama goat burns wolf slide and kids are somehow ok. It’s weird version. The part present here is wolf trying to get in. And it creeped me out! Like , I’m playing ready or not in English , I don’t know if there is russian VO , but imagine you go through kinda familiar place in game and game does something that is not programmed into it. It’s creepy. Maybe it’s because I’m Ukrainian and all that stuff , but, this is one of these “valley of the dolls basement” moments for me.

Oh, and hear me out, but your timeline is wrong. You have the events of the Valley of the Dolls story mixed up. It goes Voll, Datacentre, Brixley. We know Datacentre is central because it’s reveal briefing (#39 for those who want to check) specifically states that it occurs *after* the arrest of a pedophile. Now, it could very well be another unnnamed pedophile that we haven’t interacted with at all, but honestly I find that to be more of a stretch than it being the one pedo that we’ve actually arrested. I also remember reading in a briefing for Agency that stated seized datacentre assets led them to Brixley Talent Time, but I can’t for the life of me find it when I go looking through them again.
