Just want to say thank you for last week, we’re obviously still really anxious to be sharing this video today but the support from this community has meant so much. The only people that have known the full story of what’s been going for so long has been our parents (hi mom and dad x 2, we know you’re reading this)…every text and conversation from them this week has been them updating us the comment section, as if we’re not as invested as they are 😂. Of course, it’s in a parent’s nature to protect their kids and they’re just so appreciative to each and every one of you for having our backs as this unfolds. This wasn’t the news we were hoping for this week, especially with fall feeling like it’s slipping away. We’re trying to make contingencies and figure out next steps to get the container home running NO MATTER WHAT this winter. Keep your fingers crossed and your thoughts positive for us…we’re going to need it!
@@kennethdodemaide8678 really means more than you know, Kenneth! It can be really stressful sharing such vulnerable and complex moments like these. It's so easy to get in our heads and second guess everything. Thanks again.
I hope you counter sue that horrendous pool company. That company needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau, or Attorney General, or what you have in Canada. There is no excuse for all of these shoddy mistakes. This is NOT a professional company. They do not deserve to be in business, scamming people’s money. Hang in there guys, we got your backs! ❤❤❤to Dumpy, who’s laugh always brings a smile to my face!
We're completely baffled by the fact that THEY're sueing YOU. What an absolute mess they have saddled you with. Keep the faith guys, you have Dumpy and you have your amazing parents! Hi mom and dad x 2! Your sons are warriors!
Because some people will not just fight a lawsuit, they will just pay the bill. And of course, this company thinks they haven't done anything wrong. And that company's mind, they fulfilled their part of the bargain, but for some reason, they don't realize what a shitty job they did. If the right people aren't sent to do the jobs and the information about their mistakes never makes it back to the main company, how is that mean company supposed to even know that their people are just no good. I don't know if one of the owners was there while the installation was going on so for what, but I don't think they have a leg to stand on.
@@pamelalandesman Absolutely! We know that we will figure this out, but I think the older we've gotten the more we're realizing that while we choose to make the most of it the situation and pull ourselves together to figure it out...the reality is, we shouldn't have to.
I am AMAZED at the level of restraint you boys must have. If it were me, I'd sue their asses for the entire cost of the pool, the liner, the installation, not to mention the cost of time, labor, and energy having our beloved Dumpy fix all the shit that they should have taken care of in the first place. We love Dumpy naturally (I mean he has an American fan club), but he honestly needs to be elevated to sainthood for all he's done and redone for companies who clearly can't get their shit together and do the damn job right the first time.
I rarely comment. But THIS had me furious. The company should reimburse TOTAL funds received plus all labor and materials for repair PLUS pain and suffering. There is NO EXCUSE for the horrible service and material failures. God Bless Dumpy.❤ from Grandma in Peru 🇵🇪 I'm so blessed to have excellent contractors on my build. The carpenters are crazy slow but the quality is stellar craftsmanship.
Absolutely ! You know that "Company" is watching, and feeling the burn of having one mistake after another uncovered, and analyzed while thousands of viewers' watch.
What a mess and shame on them. Shady work and they really do deserve to be sued. I hope you get your due in court! Dumpy is a lifesaver ,bless him for his humor and knowledge! You are a role model for taking bad news with grace. Have a blessed week. ❤❤❤❤
Thing is, the defects are not merely cosmetic. They’re defects that affect the basic functioning of the pool, and would cause major health issues down the track. It’s mind blowing the installer would even think of suing the victims.
Omg, what kind of people that runs a company and doesn’t take responsibility for their big errors. My heart goes out to you both and Dumpy for having to deal with someone else’s errors. Hats off to you for moving forward. May you win back the money you spent and then some. Blessings to everyone 💝🥰🙏
Dumpy rocks! Your restraint and thoughtfulness in trying so hard to resolve this pool issue is absolutely astounding. You have every right to feel betrayed and abused by this company and their incompetent workmen! May the laws, sanity, and justice prevail! Blessings and gratitude to you!
We honestly don't know what to say, we're speechless. This is so incredibly generous, we didn't share this video with any expectation of this but thank you so much, we will put it to good use ❤
Todd & Tyler, I wish you could understand that your family isn’t only physical. Your virtual family is behind you both, we constantly wish only success, good health, safety, progress and prosperity. We are over 250 strong and I hope It’s ok to speak for us all. Hang in there please.
I'm glad you are filming what you are experiencing with the pool. That is evidence guys. Eventually, based upon the poor liner, you would have had to remove it anyway.
I'd love to be a 'fly on the wall' in the courthouse when this liner company takes you to court.....I'd hate to be them or their lawyer trying to sue you for this 'level' of workmanship.
It just boggles the mind that THEY'RE sueing YOU Like what?! How?! Just crazy. We're all here supporting you guys, and thank goodness for video receipts!
*Foam lifting concrete* polyurethane foam, can lift concrete that's 12 inches or more. This process, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam under the concrete slab to fill voids and raise it back into place. Also, is good for 20k lbs per square foot and can last 50 years+.
@@tylerandtodd This sounds like a great thing. It's just, with my kind of humor I'm seeing the entire pool coming up, slowly gliding away in the forest, weeks later to be found in the Hudson Bay. (Yes I know, but it could happen.😁) cheers! / CS
I don’t know if Canada has a Contractors board or not… Here in Arizona….we have a contractor board and if you were here after the lawsuit is done you can report this whole thing to them…The contractors board doesn’t take kindly to this kind of shady dealings….before anyone hires a contractor they can check with contractors board to see what their reputation is and if they have a license…. My prayers are with you 🙏🙏🥰 you two are so awesome…God Bless and Gods Speed 🙏🙏🥰🥰
There needs to be a picture of you two in the dictionary next to the word Resilient. I pray for you both every day, not just for projects but for your peace of mind. I know I'm not alone in being so glad you guys have found the continued support in Dumpy. I send huge hugs for him and appreciation for being the awesome person he is.
You guys are amazing. You work so hard correcting other people’s mistakes. They should be ashamed of the work they did. Hopefully you get rewarded for all your troubles. The nerve to sue someone when they’re the ones who’s at fault. I’m sure it will look super when you’re done. Dumpy is a Canadian treasure.
This saddens me for you guy’s but you got this! So glad Dumpy is aware of how dangerous mold is. I am suffering from Mold toxicity from my newly built home. I have never been so sick! Video tape everything guy’s! We Love You Guy’s & Dumpy🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Hey guys, if it makes you feel any better, we were defrauded by the COO of our GC and our GC went bankrupt during our 3.5 year home build here in LA. We finally moved in and it's all in the rear view now. Hang in there, you guys always work through these problems and will eventually have a great home to share with your friends and family.
WOW! All of that MOLD! Darn good thing you guys are taking it apart. I hope that you mop that floor with the company that did this shoddy work. Shame on them!!
The company that did this to you will just S-- their pants when this video is played in court!!!!! I know nothing about litigation in Canada, but I hope you’ll have a jury- if so, when they see all this you will win so big!!! No only did they do a shoddy job the first time around, and when you caught them, they did worse the second time around, and when they sued you they defamed you! Wow! Some heads are gonna roll over this situation and you will win big!!! Keep your chins up every step of the way and keep records of all the time it has cost you, what you’ve had to spend out of pocket, what you’ve paid Duffy, the value of the time lost on completing the container build. And on and on. Don’t be reticent to go after them because you are nice guys and aren’t litigious. Just imagine how many other people they have screwed. Sue them big, knock them down hard and hopefully your awful experience will make it impossible for them to do it to others!!! ♥️
@@tylerandtodd yes you have proof about the job they did Poorly show them the video as Patricia says i am with you all the way on this journey please never give up this bump in the road will be resolved very soon
You guys are my favorite part of Sundays. This pool situation is unfortunate but it too will pass. I've loved watching the transformation over the years of the land and now the lake too. And just watching you two grow together as a beautiful couple. And Dumpy! lol what a charm of a human.
Scott and Madison are also fans of the vlog now!! I'm sure they're reading this comment so HIIIII and thank you both again for everything. We appreciate you so much!
Congratulations on finding the solution to a problem that never ever should have been yours. I am so looking forward to seeing your tile design you will do in the pool. Stay strong and know you have SOOOO many people on your side and cheering you on! And also OF COURSE….. WE LOVE DUMPY!
That horrible incompetent company needs to be sued into nonexistence for their unforgivable unprofessionalism. Keep track of everything and sue them for double and for pain and suffering. And name them please so others can avoid them. There’s no reason NOT to name them. They can’t sue you twice for the same thing. You’re already sued. Naming them only helps people. Best of luck guys, you deserve the best.
You know we all have your backs and this is just another setback. You’ve been achieving so much at The Lake and The Land. It WILL get there. You will win the legal battle. I have total faith in you both. Hi Mom and Dad x2! You’ve raised such wonderful and talented men. And yes, the whole thing is ridiculous but one day you’ll be sat in your container home, with the fire going, homemade wine in your hands, Charlie, Eddie and Lily all spread out in front of the stove and realise how far you’ve come. X
Blimey, what a bloody nightmare & you have always treated your contractors so well. So sorry, don't let this destroy your vision. ' This too shall pass' needs to be your mantra right now. You are both such lovely blokes & you will prevail, stay strong & yes, we all have your back.
So happy you called the Aquamasters back again, they are so nice! I think it speaks volumes of how far good work and kindness can go-can get you a call back 🙂 You two have been thru so much with this build..we all laugh and cry with you-we’ve got your back! You’ll make it thru! ❤
Bravo. U will squirrel ur way around it. The family spirit will nourrish your problemsolving one step at a time. Courage. May those beyond words coloured trees keep your rainbow bright ;-) Who could believe how much turmoil could live amidst those wonderwoods. Here we should get a bayliff over to make an official witnessreport of the wrongnesses, then lawyers and judge have evidence to work with.
Your characters are testament to the way you are coping with the terrible time you are having to endure. It’s obvious how frustrated you both are but you remain calm ( on screen at least ) and are supporting each other with love and determination to rectify the works previously done badly. With all the evidence we have all seen no one could make a judgement that the work was done to even the most basic of standards that would have even in some small way produced the pool as was requested by you. Keep striving to correct the problems , stay sane, keep cheerful and believe in KARMA it will see you through. Love to you Dumpy and your fur babies ❤🇬🇧
So glad you chose to share this story with us, your faithful fans & friends. I wish I could reach out over the miles and give you great big bear hugs. Your resilience, positivity, work ethic and common sense are inspiring. No sane people want to fight but when there is no alternative, you stand up and fight for yourselves, which is the most empowering stance you can take. We are with you always in spirit and wish you all the best. Cheers~
I love Dumpy, he fits right in with you guys. Watching you guys makes my day better. Omg you both have gone through so much with this pool, sending hugs and ❤ and prayers that everything will gets better for you both.
I’m so glad you now have professionals on sight and can give you a sense of trust which has been eroded from these “douch canoes” who left you with a what not to do footage.
Well kids, I am so glad that you didn't let it get you down and you rallied and just fixed that part. Dumpy is so funny and what a help! According to the comments, we are all behind you(and of course mom & dad x2), you are not alone, people care about your little family. Much love and prayers guys , you can do this! See you next week.
It is so frustrating that you need to redo most of the work done by hired 'professionals'. Thank goodness you are not afraid to tackle the work and get your hands dirty - and also that you have somebody like Dumpy! Can't wait to see the tile work ... see you next week.
An inch and a half out of level!?!?! 🙀 To put that into context for non-industry folks: that is more than TEN TIMES beyond what would normally be considered acceptable/compliant. (Industry standard is typically no more than 1/8”). I’m so glad y’all have a lawyer. Sending all good vibes. ❤
I think I have PTSD just from watching all you’ve been through, I can’t even imagine how you two feel. Good on you for saving the big bucks, you always amaze me with what you’re willing to tackle (I can see me just pouring concrete in the pool), so kudos to you - and Dumpy. I hate the risk with the silicon and mold, I hope you are all safe and well. ❤
I am amazed that you have had the forbearance not to dox the companies that have done shoddy work on The Land projects. The designer who neglected to pay attention to building standards, requiring the external staircase, the shoddy work on the staircase, the foundation not being properly attached to the container, the siding debacle, the pool fiasco, to name my favorite screw-up artists , all could have earned the wrath of a over a quarter million people. You are better than I am. Stay strong in the struggle!
My heart goes out to you two. Like you said “One step forward, two steps back.” In situations like this my nerves would be shattered by now. I love how you two can roll with the punches and keep the positive momentum going.
Todd can come over for my dinner party too and Tyler dogs too we would have a great time laughing and talking i am from the United States South Carolina
Good on you for dealing with this awful, awful, awful situation with the right degrees of attitude to ; grieve, to find solutions and the humor while moving forward. Koodo’s to you ….. And won’t it be lovely to have what you wanted done right and know you persevered and did it yourself and the right way. Brava
I’m so sorry you boys are going through a tough time (probably thinking ‘huh, understatement much’) but my sympathy is genuine. I wanted to say how much I’m enjoying the aerial shots of the forest changing each week. It is so beautiful; see always something to be grateful for every day. Been following you for years and I remember that you’ve had so many up and downs in that time BUT you always come through!!! Thank you for all your hard work. X
Bless your dear hearts. I hate that you are having to deal with such a horrible nightmare, and I'm so happy to see you are one step closer to getting this issue resolved. Keep your chins up! Your positive attitude is inspiring. Have a fabulous week!
I just can't get over somebody doing that sloppy work😢 they didn't know what they were doing😢 that was an awful job the liner didn't even look good. I had a pool for years. And you are correct the water has to be level My dad always said if you want something done right do it yourself😊 I'm so thankful y'all have dumpy helping y'all😊 he's smart and he works hard just like y'all do❤ squirrel sure is a beautiful cat❤ and of course the boys aren't too shabby😂 I enjoyed this video the Forest looks so beautiful I love fall❤
Oh my gosh, you guys! I cannot even imagine the stress I'd feel! (Never mind the depression!) It's so nice to see you BOTH standing tall and plowing through though. And thank goodness for Dumpy!!!!
Hi, Tyler and Todd. Wish I could come give you hugs, but that’s one thing the internet won’t accommodate. Hang in there and know that we’re all behind you.
It is just unbelievable what's gone on with the pool. You are totally moving forward when some might have been overwhelmed to know where to start...so glad you have documented it all . Such hard workers 🎉❤😊
Wow, I’m amazed how you both keep smiling. I think possibly the pool is the worst thing you’ve been through and hopefully the last. Thank you for sharing you’re like family now after all these years. We not only have your back we’d like to give some of those contractors a word or two for you. 😂 Stay well can’t wait till next Sunday❤
Easier said than done but, when it's all over the feeling of accomplishment will be even greater. You guys are such incredible human beings & couple. Your determination to make this dream come true is so inspiring to so many. I'm praying for you guys & I know at the end is going to be so worth it. 👍❤
TMI (the mold issue) The best advice I got from the Health Dept is this; bleach kills mold instantly. Use only 1 Tbls of bleach in a one-litre spray bottle and mist daily. It sanitizes, brightens my white kitchen/bath and de-sticks the ICK! This really works so well. I no longer buy any caustic commercial cleaners. Saves $$$ Recommended by the people who know best The Public Health Agency of Canada! more TMI (for context) I built an off-grid coffee truck in VanBC. At festivals/farmers mkts the PHA does random spot checks and they pick-me every time (I think they like my coffee) All the rain plus a proper propane-powered expresso machine makes for a very hot & steamy rainforest cafe. Yes, They gave me the great bleach bottle tip yet test IT Everytime using litmus papers. Everytime! (*Also, They turn on the hot water tap & leave it running~~~) Sorry my wtf moment.. Sorry guys! I know ur busy & cannot deal with another thing on your plate. Hi Parents! Save this for another day or not! lol xo
I wish that too, for the same reason. But I do think NOT naming them at this point still gives them that as a point of leverage… assuming the company still cares about its reputation, which seems doubtful 🤷🏼♀️
Bless you boys and cherish Dumpy. He's a rare gem, extremely had to find nowadays. I know you can get through this. Totally in your corner, you can do this. Champion on my friends!❤
Filming all of your findings will probably be invaluable during the lawsuit. A counter suit sounds like it would be appropriate. I cannot believe the original company even pretended to know how to install your pool. It's been nothing but incompetence at each and every point. The company must be stopped so that even more people don't get scammed. You both and Dumpy are all troopers for problem solving this mess every day.
I give you two the "patience" award. I'm putting myself in your shoes right now and all I can come with is a sledge hammer. Yup, I'd break it down and start all over. Kudos to you for NOT doing what I would do. I feel so bad for you, but I have faith you will come out of this better than you went in. I hope you get that company for everything they have and more. ❤ from New Hampshire and hugs and kisses to the boys (and little girl). Oh yeah, love Dumpy. He's a great friend.
@@tylerandtodd Okay I crept out from the sofa and stood back admiring your never-say-die attitude. Is there nothing you can’t resolve by assessing, discussing and researching? Chapeau boys! Your team should run the world. (Too much stress maybe? 🤔 😂) But seriously well done for ploughing on and on. You SO deserve to win this case and I will personally celebrate when you do. 🍾
After seeing the full extent of the incompetence and damage, it's clear that they messed up right from the very beginning. I agree with the people who say you should sue them for the whole job. All that mold was really disgusting and scary. Thank goodness you questioned it when you did. It makes me wonder how many other clients have these issues and don't know it. The silver lining is that if you need witnesses, you have 253,000 right here.
Y’all have made it this far with all of the BS you’ve had to go through, you can do it. I know you can. I look forward to your videos every Sunday. Stay strong and don’t let the a holes get you down.
The three of you together are such hard-working problem solvers. Dumpy is such a big help. I can never say this too much... your videos are fantastic. ( B- roll footage, animals, music selection, content). I love you guys. ❤
you both are amazing! resilient! and somehow find solutions to adversity ... I can relate to how entirely upside down ... being sued as a result of the installers multiple errors. this gal from Ontario is definitely cheering you on!
If your pool is crooked, think about checking into having it raised via the expanding foam process where they drill holes and inject foam under it to lift it. Like they do sidewalks and slabs , driveways etc.
