When our neighbor redid a mobile home at a vacation site, they also said putting a moisture barrier and insulating under the trailer made a great difference, too. Growing up through the 70's and into the early 80's I lived in a mobile home. My parents bought a new Holly Park in 1977. Tho our new HP was different our neighbor had a home that was white with the red stripe like you now have. The fake shutters on that home were black. And the light fixtures on the front were white globes. Just fyi... you're doing a great job bringing that old home back to life. Thanks for putting it all up on RU-vid for us. RG

This is amazing! I just bought a vintage frontier mobile home, im 18 years old and ive been looking for inspiration and ideas for what i could do with it. I absolutely love the vintage look, i just want a fresh color on the outside. Right now its beige with a teal stripe on the bottom.. thinking the white would look a lot better

What a treasure you have there! This looks to be a 1973-ish Holly Park! For that vintage, they are some of the most well built mobile homes! Even before HUD took over the manufactured home business in 1976. This home is no exception! The siding is straight, with no ripples or bulges. I really like the white with red trim, as it stays true to the vintage of the home. The new windows really add class! Better than trying to fix the old ones!! You are so lucky to have a mobile home expert in your area! I am really happy to see a young couple making a wonderful home! Mobile homes seem to get a bad reputation.. which is silly! They are affordable, and usually pretty nice on the inside. I was a mobile home dweller for over 35 years! Good luck to you two! Keep up the great work! Looking forward to more updates!

You 2 remind me of my wife and me 40yrs ago we had no money but love for each other we bought a $500 dollar trailer on credit and worked together on it fell more in love had 3 children and raised them there sent them to school from there sent them to private college from there .We bought. 100 acres of land with the money saved from no mortgage was going to build a house on the land but we couldn't part with our trailer (still in trailer park) so we moved it to the 100 acres and continue to enjoy it and still love each other there and enjoy the children and grands . I will be buried on that land and so will my family. Sorry about rambling on but you just remind me of us 40 yrs ago just a few words of advice just love, live, be blind to others and enjoy the life you build and don't sorry what other people say, p.s. you can save a lot of money living this way! This looks very nice and updated. My thought is you should now cut down the middle bushes in the background as they block the niceness of the trailer. I would leave one bush at each end of the trailer as "anchors" but take out the middle three.

Wonderful job! My mom lives in rural S Carolina. There are so many older mobile homes there that could use this .

Doug and Ashley, The trailer looks awesome I agree with you about moving the red stripe to the level of the windows, now it’s time to get rid of those big overgrown bushes, they distract from the looks of your trailer. Clean up the flowerbed and then maybe plant some flowers or lower growing subs .
