Made in two days from clips from some of my favorites. including You Must Recover, IKM (II), and Metagame. Basically, it's a fan-made combo video of players doing gutsy combos, edgeguards, recoveries, unorthodox combos, and suicide KOs
I rushed the ending and wanted to finish it before school. There's also one clip I REALLY wish I deleted (2:22 - 2:26). It would've also removed most of the silence near the end. The ?s in the credits are supposed to be /

It Takes Guts to be AMAZING is 10 years old now, yay. Holy shit, that's a whole decade I can still recall the 1st time I played at a friend's house a month before who introduced me to Smash's tournament scene. Back then, the game was so much more fun. I miss the way things used to be. The excitement was more... authentic... that's the best way I know how to describe it. Maybe I'm also thinking of novelty. I really just remember introducing each other to playing to win and how I got blisters from pressing buttons so hard. And how we changed mains ever since we met each other. And how a year later, he just disappeared never to return again. I miss him I made the video in response to fellow classmates shitting on my favorite game, so I made a video to show them what I think. I reluctantly only ever showed it to 1 of them on FB. The video's honestly a happy accident that influenced a lot of Smashers during the mid school era (Between Brawl's launch and EVO 2013). I guess I was a little bit useful

Scar's off-stage game is amazing

The old man takes up the young character as a padawan in perfecting the skills of melee. After the main character fails time and time again edgeguarding his opponent, the old man tells him that he never will fill the shoes of a champion. Discouraged, angry, and furious at the old man, our protagonist shouts, "YOU NEVER WERE ANYTHING YOU OLD BASTARD! ALL YOU EVER WERE, AND WILL BE, IS A COMMENTATOR!" The old man sits in silence, neither mad nor upset at the character's remarks. The character sprints out of the training dojo and on his way out, he accidentally stumbles into a room covered in framed newspapers and old film. The main character sees the headlines of many newspapers saying, "SCAR: THE PEOPLE'S CHAMP", AND "SCAR KEEPS SMASH COMMUNITY ALIVE". In utter shock, the character turns on the film. The title of the film read "It Takes GUTS to be AMAZING - Melee combo video". He watches it. In awe of what this man was doing with the Captain Falcon character. The old man was suddenly standing next to him saying, "They loved the work I did... They called me, 'The People's Champ'". The character, now determined and honored by who was in front of me, turned on the gamecube and continued his melee training.

I've seen this probably 7 times and I still can't get enough of the stuff that happens here, especially that very clutch save from a near SD with Young Link. I just wish Link was more capable of doing more crazy technology in Melee. He really gets overshadowed by the younger incarnations. Still love the vid, Epsilon. Hair raising moments like this is what we need more than any new character or stage in Smash bros 4.

Why would I delete it? I secretly quit Melee... again... and this channel will stay online because some people like it. I would delete a lot of stuff if no 1 liked it. I've done it before The video is terribly made. Too much content was from only 2 videos. It's basically a stolen compilation. Then there's the silent moment problem. It's only viewed because it's a uniquely themed combo video

Dude, that clip of Young Link getting right back up from a near SD is more awesome than anything I've seen Fox do. That is perfect execution from the Young Link player. It seems to me that Fountain of Dreams is a stage that fully lives up to the name. 12 years later and I'm still being amazed.

Ye its a mewtwo glitch abuse on battlefield. If mewtwo ledgehops and immediately side b's then grabs the character the grab just totally forgets about the stage and warps the opponent through. its techable and if you tech it you get your double jump back so its not broken, just very frustrating lol

Misterparkour2012 mewtwo doesnt have to double jump and its not techable either but the reason its not that broken is that most characters are still able to recover if the player doesnt panic and double jump into the stage

It takes guts to be AMAZING. That was unreal, though I heard of a Jigglypuff doing that before using Rest, offscreen. 7:13-That was highrisk. Captain Falcon should not have done that. I didn't know that you could Wall-Jump in Melee 0_o 7:48-Suicidefalcon, for what, 16%? 8:20-At that exact moment, Mewtwo looked like Mew. P.S. The credits were hard to read.

Well, not that it actually contains the most interesting Melee content, but I like how it's a creative theme. Most combo videos are just random combos, but I like how this video focuses on off stage edgeguards and SD KO's.

Going to my first tournament and getting destroyed (I've been playing for a couple months and watching for like 5 months) made me really appreciate Melee. There was a Smash 4 tournament during the Melee one, and the Melee one is just insane compared to Smash 4. I really can't believe anyone would say Melee is worse, and if they do, I'll be sure to show them this epic video of what Melee is about. I hope after alot of practice I can become good enough to hold my own in a tournament.

It takes a lot of skill to compete. There are a lot of newcomers that are easy to overcome, but there are also a lot of veterans who've been playing ever since before the new player flood that started in August 2013. Play as a tournament viable character, learn your character's techniques, play in as many fests and tournaments as you can, and play online. Winning against human players in competitive gaming is so hard because everyone is trying as hard as they can against everyone else

HeartIsNaked yeah, and I guess it was sorta harsh that on the first game I played against one of the top players of the state. But it was very fun and my friend and I got along with alot of people there. I've been playing Peach, but I'm not sure if I should stick to her (waveshined to death in my first game). I do plan to go to upcoming tournaments now on, and I've been practicing on the 20xx hackpack. I know its not nearly the same as playing against a human, but I get together with my friend around once a week, and he isn't that good either. Thanks for the advice, hopefully we can get to a good level in the future.

Theirs probably better songs to listen to while watching this but listening to MitiS - Parting while watching this is amazing. Probably my favorite clip is the Mewtwo one only because I love watching good players use that character, don't know why.
