Itaki ChefBox Pro - Can it make cake?

I wanted to make chocolate cake. I've seen others make cake in their itaki lunch boxes. Will it work for me?

I think steaming it makes it into a pudding, rather than a cake. It's not really a fail.

I’m kinda obsessed with mini appliances/lunchbox cookers, especially this one. I’m skeptical about Itaki though. I have another lunchbox steamer type cooker. I think your cake had too much liquid & oil for a steamed cake. I’m curious why you didn’t try to cook it longer in the Itaki. How noisy is this appliance & does it throw a lot of steam/water around in the air? Thanks

Oh I did try, but it wouldn't cook. My problem was I didn't cover it. Oops. I'm curious about the other lunchbox cookers. Which ones have you tried? I might order another to compare them. I also might be obsessed with mini appliances. I have quite a few. I even saw a mini hot plate with a mini skillet, but I didn't buy it. And as for noise.. it doesn't make much. I mean you can tell it's on, but it's not steaming up the room. What I find messy is when you got to take of the lid (on both versions I have) water goes every where!

There's barely any noise and you could even preset it to cook hours in advance. I only found out last week that the 'manual timer' option is what they meant by prescheduler! The instructions are lame and basic af so not much help. RU-vid's actually been great tons of people doing demos

@@charlescg3904 oh... well I learned something! Thanks for sharing. I do wish the company would provide more instructions with their appliances. You don't even get a basic cookbook with the Chefbox!
