A PVP guide to Advanced Prototype PowerTech & Tactics Vanguard for Star Wars: The Old Republic Legacy of the Sith. The best Burst Build in 2023 :)
Originally released in patch 7.2.
Patch 7.3 Update:
1) Neural Trigger has been nerfed, so now I use Flame Detonation or Overwhelming Offense.
2) Terminator Droid is really strong vs melee comps and in Arena. Can take that sometimes even though 15m range is better vs ranged.
3) Heat management is slightly easier because Railshot now vents 6 heat (up from 5) when dealing damage to a target affected by Retractable Blade’s bleed.
4) Crits with Rocket Punch, Rail Shot, Magnetic Blast, Retractable Blade, Thermal Detonator, and Energy Burst got buffed by 5%. (Buff to Prototype Weapon Systems passive)
5) New Tactical (Energized Vambrace) sucks for PVP.
Patch 7.3.1 Update:
With the buffs to Madness Sorcs, it's now harder to win the 1v1. (Torturous Tactics is OP) But you can still win if you can surprise the Sorc and get the drop on them or if they are failing Phasewalk or Barrier. Otherwise, everyone is trying out Mercenaries right now since they now always have casting while moving AND super kolto. But you can still chase them down and farm damage on them. So run Overwhelming Offense for max dps and have fun farming damage on them. They don't have the damage to kill you if you have any support.

Just started gearing up.... the sticker shock on the Neural Trigger Tactical, guess I'm not running it anytime soon.

9:30 I actually prefer the buffed detonator for aoe as aoe energy burst dmg isnt that great and buffed aoe detonators with flame detonation tactical are really juicy

Just tested this again and seems that the buffed detonator (Power Burst) only buffs the initial hit, not the AOE hits from the flame detonation tactical. Also, while AOE Energy burst can only hit max. 4 targets, it adds up to around 125k dmg overall, since it also applies energy burn to all of them.

i tried yesterday Pyro (Plasma, remember always to do the Pub vertion on the right, at least the build to save us going through mirror pages on swotorista), and somehow it felt way weaker than the Advanced Prototype... Probably psychological, as Direct Damage for me at least, has always feel better than DOTs. Whats the name or how do you get those damage meters ? is it a mod or addon that i dont know ?

Yeah Pyro does not feel as strong, but it is when you play vs dot classes or tank/heal especially

@@ivano1337tried both. Doesn't feel as strong but it's kinda cooler and its way tankier. 30% less damage from dots if im reading the 2nd passive TREE right and Kolto Overload or whatever is a 35% wall as well ...

That's the only one I use. It's just too good for mobility and keeping you in the fight.

Yeah second wind is great esp. for playing solo. Since I usually play with healers, I don't use it as much as I used to.

Is life warden on arena are one time use due to it's long cd?

I’m your opinion between AP and Pyro what is the better 1v1 pvp spec

If both have all cooldowns and play perfectly Pyro wins due to having the extra DR on Kolto. However in a Warzone, AP can win if you get the burst off and a crit on Thermal Detonator.

Nerf is not coming until 7.3. Afterwards, I will use the same combo, just without Neural Dart and moving carbonize in its place

Man call me crazy but i dont see the Neural Trigger Tactical.. Removed ? Saw on a post it got nerfed to a root instead of a stun. But even then, i dont see the tactical at all. Still recommended ? which one should we get for this

It's a crafted tactical, but you can also buy it from the GTN. However after it was nerfed, I recommend you run overwhelming offense instead

why not use shoulder cannon heal? combined with implant, for arenas

@@ivano1337 i just tried on dummy, it does give double heal when implant procs, what was the bug? P.S. just imagine it is a potential 42% self heal, perfect for arenas

@@TheSonzeK it used to be that the extra missiles from Veteran Ranger didn't trigger the heal. But I tested it again and seems the bug has been fixed! Thanks for letting me know

@TheSonzeK I think you can take it for some arenas, for example in 4 dps vs 4 dps games. But most of the time I would rather have Hydraulics, esp. if there is a healer/tank on my team. You have to consider that it's only ~30% HP heal on average that you get to use only once (if you're first target, you won't live until second use) and sometimes it's only a 21% heal if you get really unlucky. Also to make full use of it you would have to run Veteran Ranger, which you don't always want. That being said, I will probably give it a try in the future. Thanks again!

@@ivano1337 if you’re looking for just raw damage I think the new enhanced blade one is better then overwhelming offence, also the defensives/healing ones can never go wrong with.
