So I can understand if you feel the timing of the song is off. Cole always talks about social issues in his music, He has marched with the people, He donates money and invest in his community and promotes Blackness. He makes a song where he’s saying he doesn’t understand why a Queen is upset with him and he needs her to enlighten him on what he’s doing wrong. I feel like ppl are mad because of who it was about and the timing. But I thought it was a very honest and introspective song which made him vulnerable. Everyone isn’t going to see things or process things the way that you do. Having these conversations with each other are important in the effort to understanding how we can better support each other. If you hide your thoughts, we’d keep avoiding having tough conversations. This song was intended to be a look into an artists struggle to find his place in a powerful movement after he was called out by a Queen. But the ppl wanted him to drop a social justice anthem and were let down instead.

I still think you’re all tripping! The man spoke how he felt, and you all want to drag him. Kendrick doesn’t say anything, you all want to drag him. You’re essentially saying that you're damned if you do, and you’re if you don’t. Your message is lost in your feelings. I understand that your feelings are important and shouldn’t be ignored, but what Cole said wasn’t wrong. If you expect everyone to be on your level and wavelength when it comes to action and activism, you’re going to always be disappointed. Educate them, don’t destroy them. Don’t berate them. However you may feel on the subject you’re the expert in, you must remember that you’re dealing with the ignorant. If you have no patience for those who don’t know, you’re ill equipped to lead or teach.

But hating on someone who has time and again spoke out against police brutality and systematic racism because they didn't tweet about it seems batshit crazy to me. As black woman I don’t see what J.Cole said that was wrong😪 he acknowledge he’s not one to know all and that he too is subjected to listen if clear points follows, even celebrities are not saved from subliminal stones on Twitter, but when she went ahead and posted what she posted on Twitter and that was her freedom of thought, though it was not only J. Cole that kept silent. if J. Cole was the only one who decided to reply why is he cancel???? How’s can he be canceled for not cursing at somebody but is only expressing how he feels “Queenstone” fucks y’all mad about queens tone ?!?!? That is the most respectful way I’ve ever anymore address a black women’s tone!!!!😭😂 While other rappers like future shit on y’all in call y’all loud and Golddiggers You’re mad because J. Cole has mixed feelings about “Queen’s tone”?? Get out here 😴

Not at all. Especially when you're narrator is a woman as if the queen tone from her would ease them in more. Lmao 😂🤣😂

I love the song. He's talking about Black Queens and Black Kings coming together. And, Cole's fans love the song. It's true, if you want more people to receive the message, you must be conscious of your tone. We learned this as kids. It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

#1 - Cole never asked to be a leader, but never ran from the label that ppl put on him. That alone is commendable. #2 - He said something about the queen's tone is bothering HIM. He didn't she was wrong or tell anyone else they should feel the way he feels. He stated his opinion. #3 - I knew they were gonna get him for that "children" line because ppl can't think past their face. But if you really listen, you will hear he was simply saying be patient with people who don't know as much about a particular subject. But the words "children" and "ignorant" carry negative undertones and will always get a rapper in trouble.

Don’t worry, the majority of the comment section is leaning in Coles favor anyway. People think that Twitter is the pulse of the people.....then they go over to other forms of social media like RU-vid and find out the hard way that IT IS NOT.

I gotta admit... This was blown out of proportion. I don't think J Cole was trying to beef in the first place. He still handled it in a really mature and forward thinking way. Cole is an intellect I feel like people forget that.

Ain't nothing controversial about someone speaking the truth in his raps. If it's how he feels and he lays it all out there in the song and sets it up so that there is no confusion about what's he's saying then wtf is the problem. All your criticzing is what he mentioned and talking about her queen tone... He didn't say the bitch shouldn't have that tone.. since when did expressing your feelings regardless of your platform become something to cry over.

We honestly don’t need to see a tweet or even hear recognition from celebrities, what we do need is for these politicians and us as Americans to understand right is right and wrong is wrong. I’m a huge jcole fan and agree with everything he says. I’m highly disappointed in chance the rapper bc the way he addressed the issue was childish in times like this don’t we need to pick each other up instead of tearing one another down?

Okay, what were not going to IGNORE the fact that J.cole has been putting black women and black issues on the frontline of all his music for the past DECADE. But before George, he was/it was lame & we rather twerk and listen to mumble rap!!! He's BEEN for the people and ESPECIALLYYYYYYY BLACK WOMEN. He said he didn't like "the queens tone" as he shouldn't !!! She was mad, why would he like her tone! The song was so much bigger than just her or him. Like did they try to understand the lyrics at all?
