Bro I hate the way this guy thinks about music he’s analyzing it like he’s got to get a fucking 90 in AP English. KOD was a much better album in my opinion no skips for me, the off-season was so mid compared to it. it had a few good songs but overall it wasn’t as strong of an album

Shit I even received a vinyl from my friends, I don't have any other album in a physical copy, cd or vinyl but this one. But I agree, "The Fall Off" might be his best project, it's been years since he started working on it, there are for sure his best tracks and I'm hyped for it🔥🔥

Cole made this album as a declaration of his skill and capability in all of rap’s various styles and genres, and he followed through. Any one of these songs could be a radio hit. 4 your eyes only and KOD had compelling concepts, but the delivery on that narrative wasn’t extremely cohesive. It’s a nice, clean capstone to his career and a marker of how much he has mastered hip hop.

If you put these songs toe to toe against the better songs off of Sideline Story, Born Sinner, FHD, 4YEO they just dont compete as far as memorable, catchy songs imo. The raps are great but I probably will forget about this album by next year

I think Tyler had the right idea in saying it’s well focused, and you and chril both have the right idea in that it’s not as memorable. IMO, nothing Cole makes will ever speak to me like Born Sinner and FHD did, but TOS is not coles worst. I would say it’s a high 5 low 6 now, because there are a lot of great messages, but also some really garbage lyricism in some of the tracks IMO. I still think the Easter Bunny line and Mario line sound like big Sean or Kanye-isms

Agreed. I think that’s the biggest problem with the project in general. It’s short and leaves more to be desired. Tracks like Punching the Clock could have used an additional verse. I guess the good thing about this project being short is that it doesn’t overstay its welcome and has high replay value because of it
