Darkseid is one of the great characters Kirby did at DC but so are ORION, KALIBAK, HIGHFATHER, MISTER MIRACLE, BIG BARDA, KAMANDI, and THE DEMON! All of them are just fantastic! Can't believe DC/WB hasn't brought them to the big screen really?!

I might argue that the Swamp Thing absolute was the best if some people hadn't received damaged copies. But yeah I ordered this. Can't wait.

A TRUE Absolute Edition would be to have Kirby’s original Superman and Jimmy Olsen faces restored! The pencils exist or at least copies do.

A lot of people are saying the quality of the book is shit, is that true? They are showing picks of the covers bowing, which you can slightly see on yours when standing up closed looking towards the pages. Then ther binding is just glue, not sewn. I've seen pics of pages not being evenly flush with one another too.

Do not pay attention to those idiots. If the people you refer belong to a certain online forum, then is basically a couple of guys that are never happy and complain that in the page 331 panel 3 Orion's sideburn has 34 thin lines by Kirby and Colletta and the Absolute has 35. This book is gorgeous

The one time re-coloring would benefit the art since I heard that Vince would erase some of the work/detail that Kirby put into a panel when he colored. Don't worry though...mines on its way. Thx for the review.

AFAIK Colletta mainly inked Kirby's work, so they would need to do more than just recolor it. I'm not sure if they still have the original art, but it would be amazing if it could be re-inked.

I love the Absolute and I think it's the best version. But we have not seen any solicitations for the 2nd one yet. So fingers crossed we get the rest of the series soon.
