diopside-jadeite from pegmatite veins with quartzite and calcium rich liquid environment. I found perfect green but crystalized and square layered at 87 and 93 degrees some forming complete squares and at ROM in Toronto lady said possibly diopside but all from the pyroxene group and i also have from a distance away diopside green clear in clear with brown clear crystals and blue clear crystals and one brown out the side of a green but all clear, the diopside-jadeite is opaque and goes from army green though the heart as imperial green to a point that turns orange and a purple crystal with heavy ironization. Some crystals are clearer than others on the outside. They say the 2 can merge to one and Nepheline syenite can carry 15% jadeite which is present

Thank you for your great video. I have been a mint-green to green (but more blue than yellow) jade lover all my life. I have several jadeite jade pendants, 4 in gold, 1 in silver, & several gold very pretty nephrite jade bracelets that were disclosed to me in the 90's as nephrite. It really is obvious to me that the nephrite ones have been treated, as most are segment bracelets w. garish colors. I am debating whether to buy a name brand Guatemalan green jadeite ring from what I believe is a reputable shopping channel that i have used for decades, or a green "type A", untreated Burma icy green translucent jade ring online. The jewelry stores where I live are for the most part totally non-knowledgeable about jade, & the one closest to me is just plain unknowledgeable. Any advice you could provide would be helpful. Thank you so much!

Thank you for watching my video, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! For Guatemalan jadeite jade, I recommend the following: Jade Maya, Yax Tun Minerals, and Mayan Mountain. For Burmese jadeite jade: Mason-Kay is the only supplier I know of that tests every piece and is able to guarantee that it’s type A. It’s always important to shop with a seller you trust! I am sorry to hear that your local jewelry store is not knowledgeable about jade, but thankfully there are lots of reputable options out there for real jade. Hope that helps!

How'd you know Jordan I really love nephrite jade. We have had many conversations about it. Recently I got some great Jade from the Himalayas. It's really becoming one of my favorites it's a very rich green with small chromium flakes. I've really been partial to Siberian jade but I think this is giving it a run for its money.

That would be awesome! In the meantime, it’s important to shop with a seller you trust 😊 There are lots of ethical sellers offering real jade at fair prices. Don’t be afraid to buy jade, just be thorough and choose a seller with a guarantee and a return policy.

@@JewelsoftheTrade very good advice but in here Uk 95% jewelers selling gold silver jewelry very fewer sellers have real jade that’s why people have no choice to buy online via eBay Amazon or Etsy like I do and most of the time we purchase fake products and waste thousands of pounds unfortunately it’s many times happen to me aswel 💔

Guatemalita looks alive, like an avocado and the river the stone was carried in… comes in tangerine orange and princess blue translucents.. so gorgeous although idk why the market is monopolized by Americans and not the natives themselves

Thank you! I just recently purchased mine. I do plan on wearing it a lot but I first want to get it appraised. I took it to a local jeweler here in Northern CA, but their gemologist doesn't deal with jade. Do you happen to know any in my area that do? @@JewelsoftheTrade

@@user-pv3vu5dl3u You might search for certified gemologist appraisers in your area on americangemsociety.org, and see if any of them offer jade appraisals. Honestly, most ICGA’s will still have to send your stone to a lab such as GIA or a company like Mason-Kay that offers lab testing services. This is because the laser that’s used to detect polymer is considered “advanced” gemological testing and isn’t standard for most independent gem labs. It might be easier for you to send it to Mason-Kay for testing and valuing services, which you can learn more about here: www.masonkay.com/jadeite-services-and-fees

So Mexico produces Nephrite jade based on your image? What part of Mexico?

Hi there! I actually don’t know where exactly in Mexico, but Mexico is listed as a locale on Mindat. I’m not even sure if it’s being mined there. Nephrite is fairly common in the earth, and some jade carvers even believe there is a large amount of nephrite under North and Central America that isn’t known to us.

@@JewelsoftheTrade Yeah I'm really confused by Jade sometimes. I live in Mexico and so many people say you can get Jade from here but whenever I ask where it comes from the conversation goes silent. For a while now I have believed that the majority of the jade in Mexico is from Guatemala and was used for trade by the Mayans that inhabited both Mexico and Guatemala and that's why it's significant in Mexico. As for finding it here I'm not a believer until someone gives me a location, and trust me I've been asking!

@@curtismaize The jade you’re seeing in Mexico, if jadeite, is probably from Myanmar or Guatemala. There is more Guatemalan jade in Mexico now, especially because of tourism, and it was probably mined in Guatemala in the last 50 years or so.

I did abit of internet sleuthing and searching up Mexican nephrite resulted in a wiki page showing how Meso Americans have used nephrite alongside jadeite during their time (with both appearing in the Motagua River), so there’s a reason to believe that Mexico has/had produced nephrite and I’ve searched up Guatemalan nephrite which shows a few listings but I personally think they haven’t gotten enough traction (or is overshadowed by it’s jadeite counterpart) for a reason lol 😅
