Andrew moved to Suzhou, China in 2008 following his career as a BBC reporter. He was intent on understanding jade, and he definitely succeeded.
In this interview, Andrew discusses some lesser-known facts about nephrite and the jade market in China. He discusses the availability of Hetian Jade (Khotan Jade), and the value of different white jades including Kunlun Jade, Mountain Jade, Russian Jade, and Hetian Jade. He discusses the prevalence of fake jades (simulants) and common treatments including tumbling and dying.
