Dude any millionaire is no scrub. I'm sorry you and the other soft ass fans feelings get hurt when a ex player who's made and stole millions gets his feelings hurt. Ironic
@@peachydls341 So how did he still Money. No professional athlete steals Money. That dude from elementary to Professional Retirement gave all he had to play 13 years, how many did skip play 0 how about Snitch A 0. Jalen Rose All Star NBA said he wasn’t a scrub or bust. How many years did you play?
@@peachydls341 compared to the average center in the NBA at the time he was a scrub, now compared to the average basketball player in college or overseas is different he’d probably shit on them. In the NBA tho he’s not even close to the average center idk how he was in the NBA, I don’t remember if there was a g league but that’s where he should’ve been
That's his opinion. That is the whole point of these sports talk shows you muppet. And many many people agree with his damn opinion. Including myself. Keane Brown was relatively a scrub.
@@mdm767 I don’t listen to him but your clearly a fan if you think this tirade of yelling, screaming & all this hopping around he’s doing is good. Damn
"I've been coming. I'm gonna continue to come. Skip's gonna continue to come, and people just need to get over that. Because we're not going anywhere." Stephen A. Smith 2012
No Kwane got personal, talking about people’s family. Stephen A. and others were only talking about his Game! He was terrible and that’s a FACT. If he’s upset about it, then that’s HIS problem. He just can’t handle the Truth!
@@ztfresh42 answer this why was a sports journalist going on a college tour to talk to Freshmen about how bad of a basketball player and individual was and what was so important about Kwames game that those people needed to hear that???
Overall Jalen's points are correct the problem with his argument is that Analysts are paid to compare professionals to OTHER PROFESSIONALS. If skip Bayless and SAS were paid to compare players to everyone in the world then everyone the talk about would just be praised all the time. From the standpoint of a fan, yes, we have no business calling players scrubs because these professionals are a hell of a lot better than us. But if you are comparing a player to another professional? It makes complete sense to bad mouth poor play and call people scrubs. If players can't really take all the scrutiny and critisism that comes with the game then they have no business being a professional athlete, because thats all part of it, being able to tune out the haters and critics and play the game, because thats what you are being paid for.
Its not just the MONEY. Skip may cover sports, the problem with skip and stephen A, they talk as if they're athletes themselves when they're not. Be professional.
I agree with Rose. its fine to say " Bosh has been playing bad" but its another thing to to use his last name as a joke, and Bosh takes great pride in his last name. We as common people can get away with it, but these guys should be keeping it classy, your argument is not better because you yell louder. also, Rose is also trying to say because Skip has a show he can explain himself for his PPG average, rose is saying other athletes don't have that outlet to explain themselves on national TV. I like Skip but he contradicts himself,he says he can call people out if they underperform, but Rose calls him out and he complains. Rose shouldn't have attacked his credibility but Rose is dead on
+NHLclutch No, Rose is full of shit. A man can call another man a scrub when he's playing like a scrub. If you play like a bitch, then they're gonna call you out on it. If you're getting offended by someone "name calling" you, then maybe you need to stay away from sports channels when you suck.
Revy's Bitch That’s not the point. The fact is, it’s not right for a journalist/analyst to heavily disrespect another man’s name and character name on national tv which his family/employers/friends are watching just for cheap entertainment. The fact is their job is to shame his game not the name.
Now I see what kwame talking bout.... Alot of the basketball players ain't as educated as me n can articulate, so... What that gotta do with basketball, not a damn thang... Thank u rose for calling them both out on dey bullshit...
Nobody plays both sides of fence better than Steven A. Before he answers a question about something he seems to give props before he makes his point on why someone is wrong
I gotta agree with Jalen Rose, No one in the NBA is garbage, maybe compared to other NBA players they are but you cant be garbage to get in the leage and hold a roster spot down!
I’m very Glad Jalen spoke up and brought to light the disregard of feelings when it comes to the Media. He let it be know that this disrespectful behavior is unacceptable.
All this started because Skip couldn’t take it when the table was turned on him. Skip had the nerve to say that Jalen took personal shots when he himself consistently throws personal shots. Then you have SAS and Skip try to twist things and act like Skip’s personal shots are opinions and high end experienced journalistic comments. It’s obvious that SAS & Skip can’t admit when they’re wrong
kudos to jalen. he seems to simply have more respect than stephen and skip... more respect for the ppl he's reporting and commenting about and more respect for his counterparts in this debate.
Jalen Rose is low key so clever. Watching this back I realized that every time Skip accuses Jalen of saying Skip doesn't know what he's talking about be he didn't play (which Jalen never said), Jalen always claps back with "| never said that. Plenty of women do a great job reporting on men's pro sports". This statement is basically intimating two things: 1. Skip is of the same importance to men's pro sports as women reporters are. And 2. Skip has the same knowledge and influence as a reporter does, which is insulting Skip's qualifications and credibility since Skip views himself as an analyst. You could tell every time Jalen clapped back with that statement, another little piece of Skip died inside. Jalen ripped this man's heart out back to back nights on live TV. What a legend.
Here's a great way to look at it: SAS and Bayless cite the fact that because of their long tenure in analyzing or reporting, they have the right to call it like it is. Which, I believe is a correct assertion. J. Rose has poured blood, sweat and tears (quite literally) into playing the sport of basketball and it has gotten him historical legacy, good fortune and unfathomable passion for the game and how words can mean so much to a person's character and outlook on how they do what they do. 1.
There's no way I could've put up with Stephen A's loudmouth interrupting. Jalen is a strong dude cause I would've probably cussed him out and walk off set. He doesn't listen to understand, he just listens to respond.
Previous comments displayed are ridiculously stupid. This is just common sense and I totally agree with Jalen Rose. If you are going to compare "scrub" players like kwame brown or nesterovic to hall of famers like kareem abdul jabbar or shaquille oneil, then obviously those "scrubs" have no chance. He said there are approximately 450 jobs positioned in the NBA, and if you can be able to maintain those jobs, even bench players arent considered as scrubs. Most people call people like Kwame Brown a scrub because he cant put up Lebron stats. If any of you guys played varsity basketball in high school, would you consider a bench or a water boy a scrub? I would not because they have sufficient amount / fundamental basketball skills to prove that they can be part of the team. Yes Kwame Brown has small hands and sometimes misses dunks and its ridiculous but who are we to call him a scrub when we dont even qualify for NCAA.
You don't got Stephen poin. He means that is you in NBA you have to improve your game. Kwame was 1 round 1 pick. He has to justify this. I'm not talking about buck$. But MJ can criticize Kwame and nobody talk about this, because he's MJ...Give me a break! And let me clear on thing. Kobe had shot 4 air balls in 1997 playoffs against Utah. He was tremendously criticize for that, and not once. But he worked on his shots a lot. He should not be Hall of Famer if he didn't work on his game. So like Wall, Drummond, Mark Gasol are doing this season. Improving
a bench boy or water boy... if you ride the bench in high school you are a scrub. The water boy is even more of a scrub hence why he is handing out water. Nobody compared Kwame to Shaq , that was a dumb analogy brought up by Jalen Rose. Stephen A was comparing Kwame Brown to guys like Brad Miller or Chris Kaman. I would take both of those guys over Kwame Brown. "Most people call Kwame Brown a scrub because he cant put up lebron stats" are you dumb stupid or both? Lebron Stats? Really? A center? Really Jinkyu? Really? blasphemy
Jalen's argument was ridicolous, appropiate for a 7 year old, "He has spent 10 years in the nba so that means he is not a scrub"???? by that argument i can say that everyone is good at their jobs, and that is CLEARY not true.
SAS - most of the former basketball players absolutely destroy you in NBA analysis - JJ Reddick, CJ McCollum, Jalen Rose… they compose and elocute themselves perfectly.
After watching these videos, It was very upsetting to see how they went to commercial break every time Jalen tried to speak. Wow, the disrespect was real! No way Jalen and Steven as cool as they say on the air. Those was fighting words you never forget.
@@chrissporty9872 Hes a scrub compared to half of the league, he was the number one pick, given every opportunity to succeed and didnt anything worth of note in his entire career, that's a automatic scrub in my book, him and Anthony Bennett included.
Stephen a smith is annoying as hell sometimes. He's always trying to talk over everybody. Everyone is using their inside voices and stephen a smith is yelling like a fool. If he wanted to be heard so bad, he should've been in studio.
a scrub is a guy that shows up - sucks - leaves the league. the NFL had JaMarcus Russell - that guy was a scrub. if you play for a decade - you can't be a scrub.
@@michaellacayo305 he wasn't an all-star all of this "over-rated" - "under-achiever" shit is just expectations not being met. your expectations aren't his problem.
I understand why you can argue Kwame isn't a scrub. sure, to NBA standards he's probably a bottom 20 of 450. yet, these are the most talented players in the world! To have a job in the NBA for a decade means your talented. if he is such a scrub, he would have been pushed out of the league by rookies a long time ago. Its tricky but not that hard of a concept to grasp
I’m with jay on this every dude in the league world class, do everybody outside the league dirty 60 points easily on me, on you, especially skip 1.4 ass too 😂😂😂
if you're famous you're going to get criticism.you're getting criticize on your play, its nothing personal.get over it.you're getting paid millions of dollar to play a sport which isn't a real job so don't get butt hurt over people insulting or saying their opinions on your game
I wonder how many people who say that professional athletes should let criticism, insults and even derogatory slurs slide if they were the subject of those criticisms. People like Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith use hyperbole when critizing athletes all the time, and it's up to people to use common sense to discern when criticism is constructive and when it's at the expense of the reputation of the player. I certainly admire any athlete that can put up with criticism, let it roll of their back.
All Jalen needed to say was this - neither of you played, you don’t have the right to call anyone a scrub. You’re journalists trying to get attention by making it personal.
it's even worst when guys who never played game of basketball and only watch box scores call not just roll players but stars , starters even superstars out.
Actually agree with Stephen a and skip and the Kwame issue. He was a number one overall pick, therefore he’s compared to other number one picks, which is totally fair. If he was picked in the second round then he would never be mentioned on this show.
He’s only mentioned because they chose to mention him. Where’s Adam Morrison? No one EVER talks about him. He was out of the league within 3 years. THATS A SCRUB. Kwame played 10+ years
@@Ryanrhodes1 Adam Morrison shot 37% from the field on 12 shot attempts a game his rookie year. He got hurt, but not before looking like an ineffective player… it is Charlotte though can’t expect too much. Anthony Bennett. Hasheem thabeet. Also bust that don’t get mentioned. They chose to single dude out. It made for good TV.
Just the same as we all do when were at our homes doing this with our family and friends. We just dont get televised like they do, so what you said basically means nothing.
