Miss Debbie, I have customized my fish cakes (that’s what we bajans call them) to suit me. Just like you I don’t boil, I boil the water and pour it on the fish and let it soak, a few times depending on how salt the fish is. I love them hot, hot🤣🤣 we don’t put garlic or tomatoes, just fresh thyme, onions and hot pepper. I enjoy seeing the different ways other people make their dishes, and I don’t understand why some people have a problem understanding that everybody can do their own version of a dish. Keep doing you Debbiedebs. I would eat one of your fritters right now❤️💚💙💜
My mum is from Jamaica and my dad was Bajan, however I prefer Jamaican fritters to the fishcakes. I find fishcakes too thick and puffy. Plus I find them much more flavoursome. We all do things differently. Enjoy❤ Love both cuisines 🇯🇲🇧🇧
I prefer the first batch. I have never added eggs to my saltfish fritters but I would try it to see how it turn out. I have used the baking powder but stopped because I prefer fritters without it. Like how you showed the different ways of making them Ms. Debs so persons can do it how they prefer. Big up unuself self 😊👍
I made some yesterday Ms Debs all I use is self raising flour already comes with baking powder some fresh thyme some spring onions we call them in UK or scallions scotch bonnet regular grated onions a bit of jerk seasoning and a little tomato ketchup for extra taste a few pieces of red pepper and that's it no eggs. But as long as they are all tasty it doesn't matter and must have a lot of salt fish in them. You a great teacher. Big up camera girl.Uk💕 manners and respect.
Lady you are the real deal!!! You’ve thought me so much!!!! I can always smell and taste the food all the way here in NYC Lol. Happy holiday to your family. People contribute and keep her encouraged
Excellent production, Miss Debbie. I still have not perfected my saltfish fritters. But watching your video, has inspired me, to continue to strive for the perfect saltfish fritters. I like mine with eggs.
I just want to say, Debbie, I love you!! You taught me sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much and I appreciate all that you do. What up, what up! Manners and Respect (muahhhh)

I have never had that but I love corn fritters. I would eat all 3 but my favorite is the crunchy one. I love anything crunchy, but they all look great. Thanks for sharing and much love.
Greetings Sista Debbie!! You are real, organic and great to watch. Love your authentic JA cooking. Ignore the negative comments. You're fab!! We love you in the UK
Morning Ms Debbs....the fritters look tasty, but I prefer the one without egg and baking powder. I think the original one is more crunchy....No bread for me with the fritters tho...reserve the hardo bread to eat with that chocolate tea alone. Thanks again for the lessons hon. You and Camera girl big up unuh self...good separation idea camera girl...👊👏❤😘
My family makes the first way as well. My grandfather’s fritters are much better than my grandmother’s but both are good. Love your channel as a refresher for food I haven’t made in a long while.
Thank you for the video I wasn’t aware you could do it 3 ways so I’ve learnt today 😄 I was taught the first way but I did some today by adding the baking power it came out delicious 😋 Thank you 🙏🏾 Manners and Respect💗
I liked the first version ,would be definitely making some for the holidays, thank you so much for all of your awesome videos throughout the year, much love from Tortola, Bless up .Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Thanks for sharing Ms. Debbie. I like the original version you make, not the egg or baking powder method, and I will try it without boiling the saltfish. Big up to the camera girl!
Gm chef. Thanks for reminding me about the steps in making salt fish fritters 👍🏾. The first original batch for me. That’s how I saw my mom and grandmother making them.Haven’t had it in years. Trying some later this morning. Not too much pepper though since my husband also can’t handle the heat.
Thank you for showing the 3 ways of making saltfish fritters. I'm not good at making the fritters not do I eat them. I'm learning to make them because my mom loves them for breakfast and she's no longer able to cook. Thank you Miss Debbie.
Thank you Miss Debbie for the recipes I never made fritters I'm 54 years old leastwise not salt fish I have done corn fritters apple fritters but Never Never saltfish fritters but I will try them keep up the good work are have a blessed holidays
In Puerto Rico we don't boil it either we soak it overnight then we rinse the water out then we soak it again we so get like two or three times to wash the salt away
Yes debbie you know the thing but you could do the baking powder one first just to prevent it from going dark not my style the first one is my style love you Miss Debbie
You just made me so hungry 😋 oh my I have been craving salt fish fritters, now I have to get up and go make some! Love, love your channel. You have taught me so much... I’m American and my husband is Jamaican... so you know it’s important for me to cook my food properly! He enjoys everything that I make and I told him what his mother didn’t teach me you did... so thank you! I will be doing a cooking channel also very soon... so I hope that you follow me so that you can let me know how I’m doing! I just made a cornmeal pudding and he told me it was perfectly done. I don’t need to change a thing with that’s recipe! I was so happy!
Miss Debie I love your videos I only ever tried the original way but I'm going to try the egg one Preparing up myself for in the future when I have to cook for my family Thanks for your recipes and videos I really appreciate them
Hi miss Debbie, thank you so much for your recipes. I usually make my fritters with baking powder, never like the one witth eggs. I have seen ppl make it. However, I am anxious to try the first one that you made without the baking powder. Big up to camera girl, and happy holidays to you both.
Thanks for the 3 ways to make saltfish fritters. I always wonder why my husband"s fritters always come out ike pancake; now I know; it is the eggs! In addition I always use self raising flour and have a lot of work to decrease dem wid hand towel., I never know that it was the baking soda in the flour. The best fritters is the one my mother use to make, the same way you made the first batch. BIG UP THE FIRST BATCH❤ GOOD JOB!
Thanks Ms. Debbie !! I missed this video for Christmas but definitely trying one of these recipes for New Years breakfast. You are the absolute best!! Love it 😊
Just having a marathon on your videos. I love my fritters flat and crunchy with a nice kick of pepper 😋😋😋😋 I will be trying your recipe after Easter. Blessings and big up Camera Girl 👍🏽🙋🏾♀️
Blessings to you and camera girl my jamaican husband make me some fritters before and put the baking powder into it I will ask him to do them the way you did your first ones because they look and sound delicious please keep all your video's coming I love your passion for the things you cook my jamaican husband showed me too his favourite food as being from uk I find our food can be not as exciting as the food there sometimes so I'm learning a lot
Thank you so much… I made it for the first time following a different video… they used baking powder, it was delicious but a bit gummy… I thought about adding eggs next time and then I saw this video… I’m going to try it with eggs and see the difference… Thanks again… Edit*** I had the batter already made with the baking powder… I added an egg to the batter and it changed the texture from the gummy to yummy 😋… As I said before, it was delicious before the egg and even more yummy with the egg…
Love saltfish fritters with nuff pepper in it, my mom would soak the fish so as to keep the fish firm and salty!!!! Wa sick stomach more than fresh soppy saltfish!!
Hey... that's one of my favorite.. send some for me please... big up the family for me.. 💞💞.. I will take the original ones.. Big up camera girl for the separated idea..🥰🥰.. yes man, DDT I bread and butter with it.. Best butter I remember about that..
Respect Miss Debbie, yes I. Always check for bones. I used to eat fresh Scotch Bonnets to upset my pal who worked with me, "how can you do that!" he asked. I laughed. I don't nowadays. I still cook with them though. Jerk Chicken, Curry goat and patties. Oh yes! My mother in law showed how to make patties from her Dominican/Barbadian home recipe.
Loved this video Miss Debbie and big up yuh camera girl too! I bought a mix for my fritters, from Grace but I want to try to fresh version you taught us here.
