Even fight. I think the Draw was the right call. That was a Past Prime Toney in this fight who started his career down at 160 pounds , Rahman has devastating power and shouldve knocked this version of Toney TF out..... But he couldn't do it That shows you how special James Toney is lol
Jason Tony was not out of he's prime he's just a fat fuck plain and simple. Tony always would lose to all the top tier fighters and lose or have close fights wins against good fighters. Also one of the biggest cherry picks of all time. He was very sneaky on who he fought as he moved up. He never defend he's championship. He would win and drop the belt all the time never wanted top tire fighters only who were good but no talent. Till this day he's biggest win was Michael Nunn.
James Toney was so out of shape, and still gave Rahman all he could handle. James really should have been fighting at CW at this point in his career. He was just not disciplined enough. Excellent performance tho, despite his circumstances.
Exactly, had James Toney been more athletic, more mobile, agile, light on his feet, esentially more disciplined with his training, he will easily put Rahmans lights out. James Toney is so talented but he is his own worst enemy. How we wish we can see another fighter with the attributes of James Toney, one hell of a fighter, a great champ, a warrior, a legend and hall of famer.
@@joefilms2775 Yes. One only needs to look at the fact that he won Ring Magazine's FOTY award twice, with 12 years in between each award. Only Muhammad Ali had a wider gap; 1963 (First) and 1978 (Last). Just winning the award twice makes you pretty much a lock for the HOF.
@@destinationfer2 No state boxing commission in the US is going to clear him to fight, which is why he's fighting in places like Mexico. I have a ton of respect for James, but he has sustained a lot of damage and should not be taking punches anymore.
@@lowcountrydawg2525 Very true, but his speech is still there even as an old man is all i meant. If you see Riddick Bo in comparrison.. Well.. Lets just say there is a genetic disposition to these things along with defensive skills to compliment your offense.. Tony was meant for this.. and i would think not twice but 12 times before thinking my young ass got a chance against James Toney just on the merit that he's old..
