if only the MMDA could setup an escooter/bicycle lane from ortigas center up to BGC passing thru ayala ave and buendia ave ending at MOA. that would be a fun ride. it's just a thought.
Den Den thanks. Yes we are allowed to ride on the road. Although I’d often rather not share the road with cars, we have no other options. I hope for more proper bike lanes in the future.
@@MOTOHOLLIK you say you'd rather not share the road with cars... this implies we can't ride on the sidewalk? is that true? I was looking at an inokim light 2 for riding around BGC...
Andrew Bard Riding on the bike lane would be ideal. Legally we are not allowed to ride on major roads, Edsa for example is a big no no. You can ride around the streets of BGC, just make sure you wear a helmet. We are expected to push our scoots if we use the sidewalks.
@@MOTOHOLLIK ok, not arguing, just looking for clarification before I buy something that I apparently don't fully understand: I've seen people riding on EDSA and, most recently, the C-5 from Pasig to BGC so it's illegal but not enforced I guess? also, in BGC, every scooter I see here is riding on the sidewalk... in fact, yesterday a guy was riding his on the walkway in front of SM Aura... so another "illegal but not enforced"? Cause I haven't seen anyone riding their scooter on the actual roads in BGC yet... always on sidewalk
Andrew Bard Some of these “black sheep” riding on Edsa and C-5 went viral, causing a lot of negative reactions from fellow motorists. This is attention that we don’t want. We want to avoid further restrictions or even a total ban (even though unlikely here in the Philippines). As for BGC and walkways, as long as it is safe and you can stay clear of pedestrians, it should be okay. But when it gets crowded I would still suggest to get off your scoot and push. Just be mindful of your speed and surroundings, the last thing you want to do is get someone and/ or yourself hurt. And please, helmet is a must. It doesn’t have to be a full face helmet. I see tons of people riding around without one.
