I'm a huge fan, but he wasn't that great in junior Formula series.

@@azan7659 Mostly financing, but he just wasn't good enough. Had he had financial backing, of course he would have made it further. Just look at Mazepin, Stroll, and Latifi. But if he was good, some academy would have scooped him up already.

I've said this many times, F1 could be alot better if every driver on the grid right now would be there because of the talent and hard work and not because of the money. We all know that at least 10 people on the F1 grid right now are not the most talented drivers. There are far more talented and faster drivers in F2 but they don't have enough money. If you look at other sports like tennis, you still need money to pay for trainers but it's not that much but you know that all the top 10 tennis players are actually there because they deserve it.

@@maskedgamer7565 The problem with young drivers is that good results in junior categories don’t necesarily mean that they’ll be good in F1. An example: Tsunoda. He was 3rd in his first season in F1 and was dominating everywhere he went. But when he got to F1, apart from Bahrain and Austria he didn’t really show much of that pace. Instead he spent most of his time crashing or spinning. Teams won’t take a young drivwr only because he has good results. Ot has to be worth the risk. Of he brings in money, that’ll help to compensate in case the driver gets destroyed by the pressure of being in pinnacle of motorsport

@@rotkiW9014 I think ranking 12th in austria was a pretty decent result for his first year and in the car that he is in. Gasly has more experience and only finishes a couple of places higher. If he keeps performing like this next year then I'll agree with you but for now, I think he's doing ok. Alot better than other experienced drivers in their first year.

@@maskedgamer7565 Yes, as I said his performance in Austria was good. However, apart from that and Bahrain he didn’t particulary shine. Of course, he has the raw pace and next year will surely be better, what I meant though is that most teams will not take young drivers because they have no guarantee if they will deliver from the get go. AlphaTauri took Yuki, expecting him to be on the pace just like in Bahrain. The mistakes were probably expected, but the lack of pace and the amount of said mistakes surely exeeded the expectations: Tsunoda seemed as the best rookie this year, but he made more mistakes so far than Mazepin and Shumacher together(of course I’m talking only about the number of mistakes, in terms of amount of money they cost the team Mick is on top). Other teams will prefer someone like Kimi: a driver with a ton of experience to develop the car, someone who is not as fast as Illot, Schwartzman or Pourchaire, but os less likely to make mistakes and will just ne there to pick up the pieces in case anything happens. It’s better to have someone that is always on P12 to get points when the two cars ahead dnf, than to have a guy that has the pace and talent to be on P8 every race, but he will dnf and crash more often than not

Jarno Opmeer was dropped in junior formula for not being good enough. I dont think he will be good in F2.

He also used his mother’s maiden name, Betsch, for some categories. Once he got into proper single seaters he started using Schumacher.

A season in F2 can cost 2-3 million and well not sure about f3 but in the US a season of F4 is around 185K

F2 costs way more than 500k. Daniel Abt former GP2 and Formula E driver said a GP2 Saison cost 1,6 Mio Euro. This was 10 years ago means you probably have to pay something around 2 Mio Euro now, which is absolute insane.

I always say (or maybe someone else said it and I now repeat it😅) to become a successful racing driver you need successful parents. Look at the parents of the current F1/2/3 drivers 95% of them are millionaires or billionaires.

He doesn't use the Schumacher surname to sort race undercover, he want to improve without too much of the notoriety of his surname. Obviously using the surname will give him pressure, everyone will expect him to be good, it'd be bad for his mental.

What name he is using in this video? I couldn't identify him. For me he was using the last name of Corinna but either with her name I can't find his name

All through his Karting career he never raced under “Mick Schumacher” he raced under the name of “Mick Betch” which is his mother’s maiden name, he also used “ Mick Junior” as well like in the video. It was to pretty much race undercover and to see if he could make it on his own into single seaters as just another ordinary Karter without the Schumacher name or the massive media attention that came with it.
