I agree. He even said himself it wasn’t sausage’s fault and that he wasn’t the best canvas due to his stretched skin.

I really do wish the judges would take into account how happy the canvas is with their tattoo, because that SHOULD be a factor since that's one of the most important parts of ANY kind of client work - making sure the client gets what they want.

But, whether the canvas was okay with it or not, they're on a show where they're judged on the quality of their tattooing and following the accepted rules of tattooing, which is very much including placement. You don't run a tattoo right through another one

and the artist probably does have a sign on their shop that says that. but with this show, they're not able to turn down a tattoo or it's basically instant elimination and they're not risking that, so they tattoo places they don't want to tattoo. this show isn't really about who's good or not, it's who is willing to do the most ridiculous things and who creates the biggest drama.

My 27yo niece has a ton of ink all over her and she said the thighs, calves, upper arms, and outer forearms don't hurt much. She said the stuff she's got across the back of her shoulders, her shin, her sternum piece, and the "I love you" in her mom's handwriting (a memorial tattoo) across the inside of her wrist hurt the most. Ink Master just focuses on some of the most difficult areas to tattoo because... well, Ink Master gotta Ink Master. lol That being said I'm a tattoo virgin but I want to get a Zelda piece on the side of my calf and the Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 icons behind my ears since I'm a digital illustrator and that's the version of the software I've used for my entire career of 15+ years (because fuck subscriptions and the old shit does everything I need for my work). I have nerve damage that I'm concerned about, but she said those areas shouldn't be too bad. 🤷‍♀️

I've had my lower arm, upper arm, and shoulder tattooed, and the shoulder was the least painful. It was uncomfortable, but no stinging or burning pain.

I’d definitely say my knee all around sucked, from the cap to the ditch. Finished up my Japanese leg sleeve right before Covid hit and it was probably my toughest spot yet.

I'm curious if ink master will have an international season(Canada, Ireland, Australia, etc). Hopefully no DJ lol

I'm a tattoo virgin but when I DO get the couple things I've been wanting for a few years at this point, that would be the OPPOSITE of how I'd treat my tattoo artist. Maybe it's because I'm an illustrator for a living so I know what pain in the ass clients are like, I dunno. Like for the first tattoo I want, I have a sketch of the concept to best communicate to the tattoo artist what it is I want, but I'm going to tell them to "tattoo-ify it so it will look good on my skin and where I'd like it placed if that works". Because even though I'm the same kind of animal as you, your specialty is illustrating on skin while mine is on cintiq screens and paper. I'm sure as hell going to listen to your expertise in your specialty.

Yeah, but while everyone was bashing Sausage’s work, he stuck up for him. Sometimes people go on IM because they’ve been rejected by shops. So they go on there and it becomes “you have to do (X) or risk going home”. Like how Josh didn’t want to tattoo that dude’s eyelids.

Christian was a dick for that entire season. Slimed around making temporary 'alliances' with other artists just so he could screw over competition like Sausage (until his 'ally' also became a threat - at which point he dropped them like a hot brick) and then whined like a little bitch when the last remaining artists voted for Cleen's tattoo over his in the final stages, complaining that they were doing it 'just to get back at him.'

That clip did no favors for Christian.

17? Isn’t a bit young to decide for a permanent tattoo? I got my first tattoo at 21 and took about 4 years to really think of my tattoo. Im glad cuz I don’t regret it and the only tattoo i regret is one i got at a convention and didn’t really spend time to really consider if I wanted it forever.
