Always Board Never Boring has a surprising number of games designed by Prospero Hall. In this first in a short series, he takes a deep dive into the rules of Jaws from Ravensburger, running through how to play each of the two acts, with regular interjections to discuss what he likes and doesn't like before giving a final review at the end. Sweet Jesus how did I miss this?! Had this game for ages it its one of my fav movies. Still remember watching J3 with glasses at the end 😅 but once again you have in all honesty nailed it dude!! Great job

Thanks for watching, and for the kind words. My videos for games that don't involve miniatures seem to fly under the radar a bit. Jaws is an absolute classic, and I think this game is a really good stab at capturing the essence of the movie.

Most of these games I look at for a minute or two at Target when I see them and then remember that I have far too many games already. I still haven't bought the Horrified cryptid one for much the same reason, though the force is strong with that one.

American Monsters is great. I prefer the original Horrified but the cryptids are all interesting and I like the ways in which they create unique puzzles to overcome.

i got american monsters in a target when i was in NY a few weeks back for 33 dollars....a real steal...i love both versons but would probably slightly prefer the original

I saw that in The Works recently. I didn't pick it up, but thought it looked quite interesting and was going to look into it a bit more. Thunder Road was an awesome game!

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring The Fast and Furious board game is really good fun, and can be played solo. My biggest issue with the game is that once you've done the 3 scenarios there isn't much variety in replays

Wow, what a cool game. The way they visually implemented the progressive level of damage taken by the Orca in my opinion is truly brilliant. As a minor complain, the only thing I really dislike is the over-minimalistic look for the characters/bruce/boats tokens and I don't understand why they decided for that design, since the board, the cards and everything else in the game looks so good.

I'm not sure how Ravensburger make their decisions on game components. All of these small box games are incredibly inexpensive so cost is obviously a factor, but I think they might also do it based on the perceived audience. For example, Alien Fate of the Nostromo has miniatures for all the characters and the alien, and Horrified has miniatures in coloured plastic for the monsters, but the heroes are cardboard standees. Jurassic Park Danger uses wooden meeples with art screen printed on the dinos, and Villainous has beautiful, translucent, coloured pawns with unique designs to reflect the villains. I think for Jaws, as the board is so small, the little wooden pieces was a good choice because they were a good size for the play area, and the colouring makes it immediately clear which character is which, but I would have quite liked standees with the character art (although they obviously avoided any character faces in the art to prevent the need to pay for actor's likenesses). At least they gave Bruce some teeth.

I some how have a funny thought. House Rules: Every space is a water space. The shark could be any where. Imagine fighting off the shark at the mayor's house. If conflicted with a rule, go with the one that is visually funnier.

Yeah, that's the kind of thing Asylum does. Movies like Sand Sharks and Sharkansas have the sharks moving through the ground.
