I think that specific voiceline was for a make a wish kid who said his favorite champion was jax. So Riot got the voice actor to make that voiceline for that child. Or something like that.

Gameplay wise he can be annoying to some which is understandable but he is an awesome character and I like playing him from time to time. The pedo reputation has to die though that is just dumb
One thing I will say that I liked about the joke is that no one is willing to make it towards the "Heres to you kid" line and if you try you are immediately shamed no matter if they like using the joke or not. Atleast somethings are sacred.
Agreed. Such a great character, with great lore, great design, and a weapon-that's-not-really-a-weapon-but-he-still-wins-fights-with-it... and that "joke" is the first thing people think of. I never found it funny to begin with, and it pisses me off more than it should that people still think otherwise. What a travesty. Saijax really deserves better.

Legit, meme about the players not the game. It's an insult to Jax to call him a pedo, especially since one of his voicelines is a memorial to the "make a wish kid" which makes it even more disrespectful with this joke.
As a zoe main I can agree this is not fun. I loke her kit, I find her hair cool as shit. And according to the dozens of players 5s after dying: that makes me a predator. Yay.

I also love Jax very much, he's a very cool guy and as you said he would be a very chill guy to be around and was very confused when they called him a pdf file. In Spanish he has a very cool VA, they made him feel like an arrogant kinda Mexican which sells his thematic fantasy very well. Very cool champ and very good video, wish the thing with toplaners and pdf files would stop
Jax, as one of the original characters that has held strong since the very beginning, deserves nothing but respect. I also got my first pentakill with Jax back when he had a passive dodge, so he holds special place in my memories.
i think that jax joke of him liking children is very northamerican as i have never heard someone here in mexico make that kind of joke, we just generally like the champ
It's a thing here in Brasil as well because of some specific cases (one of such cases being so big to the point of being televised in the entire country), which is SO GODDAMN SAD, Jax is such a cool champion

I love Jax so much. Genuinely feels like the character in League that was tailor made for me. Fun, boisterous but level-headed personality, fantastic design and lore, even looks fun to play. It’s really terrible that he’s acquired such an awful reputation, he truly doesn’t deserve it.
I’m sad we didn’t get a ruined king sequel where Jax and other Shuriman champion (and maybe fiora since she possibly joined his new kohari after their duel, I’d like to see some fiora lore because rn she feels just french and that’s it), because that would have been so fucking cool…
Small nitpick: Due to the way languages function, I would expect both "I-ka-thee-ah" and "Eye-Kay-Thee-uh" to be both correct pronunciations of the place name by native peoples to it. We know that Icathia was home to many different peoples and cultures, so it's almost certain to contain a greater linguistic diversity than one character can convey. What we get to learn about the history of different regions in LoR, character and region stories, all points to Icathia having cultures and languages relating to Earth's own fertile crescent region-as much as any one-to-one comparison is possible.
I actually just learbed about the pdf memes abbout jax. He was one of my mains in WR before i one tricked yone so i was confused what the reason of that was. I just researched about it last night and coincidentally, nicky posted this at 1 am.
Fun Fact: One of the biggest Greek streamers Hayate was a jax one trick but the last 5 years or so has stopped playing league. This week, they resurfaced some screenshots and people have come out calling him a pedo for flirting with minors. Also, he is trialed for mistreating mentally challenged and sick people on stream.
The thing with character stereotypes (And insult humor as a whole) is always if, either in the moment or in retrospect, the folks receiving it can respond to it with humor, obviously not everyone will, but an okay portion, I don't think I've really seen people ever respond well to jokes about them liking children sexually, and quite frankly I'd be concerned if they did

It is... but it also isn't. The brazier-stave is primarily a fire mage staff, but Jax isn't a mage, so he uses it the way a warrior would-- as a flaming mace. And it works.
His counter strike is the only super annoying thing and that’s cause of how it combines with leap strike to destroy adcs and other auto attack champs. I’d rather play against a good jax than a mediocre shaco. Or even worse a good Zoe.
i mean, sure? thats like saying riven W is skill expressive because you have to land it. Both of their kits facilitate using the ability to the extent that it isn't at all difficult to land it.
@@yuricecconi561 with old jax you could just ult and run away without hitting people with it, now you have to go in, hit people with it to get resistances which can be harder to do , you could get one shot before you can

On top of it all, those mains weren't even pedophile according to the medical definition. For context, the event that happened was the jax main/s(not sure if there was actually more than one) was flirting with teenagers e.g. under 18. But the official definition more along the lines of having sexual interest in those that are not developed/kids. More like under 12 to 14. The people that was affected by was NOT children , they were TEENAGERS. And random streamer brains up pedophile and everyone gets on the train. I hate it. I do however hate jax's kit though riot please nerf his e damage and remove ult damage burst. Give him like 10% more as on his passive or smth.

Im completely honest, but i dislike the new Jax. I think it looks weird. And i miss the old one. The new ones cape is terrible and i think the autos it way too goofy. But everyone has different oppinions
No, jax is popular everywhere. Some people are just annoyed at the fact that jax has a sterotype attached. Kinda like the wind brothers, who also rage. Same thing.
Yeah, the "Jax is a pedo/Jax players are pedos" joke really needs to die. It's not funny. It never was. On a more positive note, Jax is becoming one of my favorite champions to play, second to Pantheon. His story is inspiring, and he's a classic heroic character with just the right amount of swagger.

I blame both Riot and streamers for the pedophilia joke. It's insane people find it funny but still the ones who allow people making that joke is Riot for letting people do it with no repercussions
