If you're a guitarist my transcription projects on Steve Lukather, Michael Landau, Dann Huff and Jay Graydon might also be of interest. bit.ly/Facebook-LA-Session-Gu...
Al was having a great time and how could he not with such a great band behind him. This groove music still exists every Monday night in Las Vegas with Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns.
I can't believe I found this! Just beyond awesome. 1981 I think late Autumn...I was a senior in high school and I think I had a date with a girl and when I got home this was on, and I wished to God I was a singer so I could impress the girls more 😂...I became a singer years later but if only I started at 17 instead of 25...😢
Awesome live ! Jerry hey , gary grant , larry williams ( Horn section ) , jay graydon ( guitar ) , tom canning ( keys ) ,lenny castro ( percussion ) , steve gadd ( drums ) , richard page /steve george /paulette brown ( background vocals ) . AL jarreau for ever ! ❤❤
There was something very special about Jay's playing - simplicity, melodic. virtuosic...very difficult for me to put my finger on. But undoubtedly, the very best of the guitarists from the 70's & onwards.
💯 Alex Acuna on drums..Steve Gadd & Jeff porcaro played on the Breaking Away album with Abraham Laboriel on bass….Jay Graydon is the master of production and extracting the maximum out of his artists.
Went online to see if Jay Graydon can be found as the guitar contributor to Leif's I Was Made For Dancin, and Wow even with the videotape is still pleasant to listen to. Al's rendition he did around same time on SCTV was PRC from album, and ❤ for posting. May be worth digging as the Friday's vids it appears the mix as it went into booth may be available i.e. Kim Carnes Bette Davis Eyes (Shout Factory) vs. Kim's More Love. As I recall paying over $120 DVD just for a few EPS of SCTV, I will be on lookout for similar "Friday's Jams". Until then...
Yeah, that's Slug, Rich and Paulette Brown on BV's. Paulette's husband Lenny Castro also chiming in with a few BV's like he used to do on the road with Toto.
The E Rhodes piano lives on as a VST virtual instrument that was created using sampled sounds from the original piano with help from Jay Graydon available from Orange Tree Samples.
@@mikew4646 Agree, looks like Alex to me as well. Too many Cymbals for Gadd and Steve never put a floor tom out on his Hi-Hat side. All the heavy LA Session guys and gals for sure!
