Really great interview brotha!!! I loved this kinda of psychologically in-depth conversation where it really shows you not only the nature of the man behind the fighter, but as well how deep this really goes for these individuals all the way back into there youth!!!! It’ breeded into them and it’s amazing thing to watch. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Man….some of this hit home as a dad with years behind me from when my boys wrestled. I failed mightily in so many ways…but I’m thankful for forgiving sons.
This is a very powerful statement. I wish more parents would see that. Kudos to you for reflecting on that and your sons for believing in you. Signed, another wrestling dad
Awesome! You should continue putting stuff like this out JB! It might take a little time/work but it will take-off! Your interview skills and ability to earn the respect of any wrestler will open up depths other can't expose! Congrats on your freshest title!!!!!!
first of all, Yianni and Spencer Lee will have USA in good hands after JB finally leaves his shoes on the mat. Secondly, congratulations JB on yet another world championship. To me, as someone who has followed all the martial arts for my entire life, and im old, you are the greatest American Wrestler of all-time, working on becoming the greatest ever, period. Great Podcast!
Two of my favourite wrestlers, and a really interesting conversation. JB is a really good host with good listening skills and interesting prompts and questions, and Yianni is a really interesting guest. Thank you for the great content. Subscribed! And looking forward to more.
Jordan, is this going to be a Podcast for you in the future? I love it! I think the concept of interviewing all types of wrestlers and their preparation and behind the scenes situations and dramas could be very interesting to listen to. Yani has always interested me from Afar, but to hear him talk, what a nice guy! I think another good idea for podcast interviews, would be to have other wrestlers from around the world tell you their stories. Hearing the back-stories of the Iranians and evan the infamous Russians would be very interesting. I think there would be only 2 obstacles for you to overcome, interpreters and your deep dislike for the Russians. Lol! Your a wrestler, so I'm sure you will figure it out. Great stuff man!
What a GREAT interview! Jordan is excellent as an interviewer and Yianni is excellent as an interviewee, so thoughtful and mature for his age. I didn't wrestle beyond high school, but I love all the top U.S. wrestlers, all of whom seem like super-cool guys. My problem is who to root for. Do I root for Kyle or for Jordan when they wrestle? Do I root for Zain or for Yianni when they face off? Tough decisions!
Just found the podcast and I enjoyed the interview. I love how you guys were talking about the medal drought and Yanni ends up breaking the drought with an exciting silver medal.
Love this new venture JB! Congrats on becoming the GOAT. Trust me that takes a ton for me to say as a Oklahoma boy my whole life where John W. was our king. But you’ve earned every bit of it! Can’t wait to watch you finish out your career in wrestling and then branch off into what is next. Congrats champ 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Dude this is amazing please make more of these, interview anyone, not just wrestling. Your insight as a multiple Olympic gold medalist will transfer to anyone so well! Do Micheal Phelps next
Powerful interview. I had one son and I was the father that wanted it more than he did. I failed him all those years. After watching this interview I wish I had another chance to do it differently.
I think we got a lot of guys on the USA team they don’t care about the media and they just care about being a student of the sport. Yanni Taylor Burroughs Snyder Gilman Rutherford and Cox.
Great discussion! How do you talk about Cornell/Dake without mentioning Functional Patterns.....Kyle Dake by his own words was done in 2016 due to injuries and we all know where he is now. On top of that he dethroned your interviewer (all respect for JB, though it's an 🐘 in the room). FP has given so much to athletes and recieves less than crumbs.
@@dillonmackay683 that is true; however, Kyle has had opportunities to give credit when the timing was right and has failed to do so and further promote Spartan (a obstacle course company that is not precision driven in biomechanics like FP). I have been practicing FP since 2007, after a list of back issues considering a spinal fusion and feel that these wrestlers (who I would consider societies heros) need to promote relevant information that can help society (that's what would seem heros do, right, help people on the largest platform possible). It's selfish to keep this subject matter as a secret, so as to have an edge over the competition (heros would not do this). On top of this the interviewee has received training from FP professionals.....
