yes mk3 is better, the motion+ is better than the flips and i preferred two mk3s vs 2 motion+s, i have a video on that. Flip 5 is more about the size and rugged build. mk3 is not a great beach/pool speaker or one to be thrown about.

yup! if the sound difference is down to the different drivers then its a pretty poor show by JBL, the white one (cs) is not a great listen. Yes the sn number on the box and a small label under the tie handle thingy also says the version. haha yeah a can of cider!!!! hic! 👍😇🤑

hum, maybe that would work in party mode but for stereo you still want balanced speakers to create an image.

Two in stereo is a nice improvement. Or for less money you could get the motion boom for some hifi like low end. So yes 2 flip 5s are so much better than one but the flip 5 can easily be beat for sound. My current fav being the motion boom.

There is a part of my message missing: 1. Buying an extra JBL Flip 5 and pairing it in Party Boost or stereo mode? (which is 2x 20 watt) Or

2. Buying the Audio Pro C10 (80 watt) (comparable to sonos five)

the c10 is different league, i would go for that.

two same model speakers means you can use stereo, that's the big advantage

they do come alive as a pair and can beat out a single charge 4 but still cant match larger options.

can you like the timecode where you heard it?

@@alanrossreviews I'm not sure how to do that sorry. It is at 27:37 where it is most noticeable. It is intolerable to me! Haha. Sort of like a maybe 50hz osscilation where the treble around perhaps 10khz is wavering up and down, or from left to right.

@@rosspain3680 maybe come comb filtering, its impossible to do these stereo tests without some comb filtering without going outdoors.

wow wee thanks for that, my ego got a nice boost. its all good, i just do this for a hobby as something i enjoy so views and subs while nice to have are not what im here for. We would all miss Oluv if he stopped doing what hes doing and i certainly enjoy his channel, none of us are perfect and i have had one or two brushes with him in the past 😇 I do try and keep the recordings as accurate as possible to the original. My setup is all about accuracy. Do you mean because they are not binaural? This is something i have actively avoided for the sake of accuracy at the cost of imaging. Binaural is all about room acoustics and colours the original imho. As i use the actual recordings for my graphs I have decided not to go binaural. The downside of course is i dont fully portray the original soundstage between speakers in the way guys like Oulv and jimsreveiwroom do. You cant have both. I am happy with what I am doing for now. Also im not a dedicated speaker guy even though i have been doing a lot more of them recently. i really want to just make videos on stuff that interests me. Thanks for the feedback and subs, dont loose faith if i put out other stuff too 😜

Do you think it's possible to capture the 'vibrations' of bass just like how they would sound to your ears when you hear them live without actually recording them with binaural mic? Unlike mids and treble that are directional and are fired straight towards the listener, bass is actually omnidirectional. It travels and vibrates in the air. In fact, the lowest frequencies are rather felt than heard. So, don't you think bass vibrations work in the same way as 'stereo imaging' in that the vibrations travel and move in the air like '3-dimensional' than they are projected straight? If that's the case, then don't you think the only way to really capture bass vibrations as close to reality as possible is by recording them with binaural mic? I'm not saying that I'm correct with this one. But I'd like to hear your thoughts. 🤔

@@adonaijanaslarona3245 all sound travels in all directions but differs with frequency and power and how they disperse and interact with the environment. all sound is the vibration of air molecules. your ears can discern direction better for high frequencies than low frequencies which is why bass is said to be non directional. its a complicated subject in reality but the bottom line is yes i can record bass without using a binaural setup. However you are right my recordings have less of the room effect which can boost or hinder some frequencies. also true that low frequency gets to a point where it is felt rather than heard. stereo is all about your ears using phase difference clues to create a 3d image, this is why bass is different because of its longer wavelength and so your ears dont get much directional information from it. so no capturing bass close to reality does not require binaural recordings but good 3d spatial recordings do.

I suggest you make a separate video discussing technical audio stuff like how different frequency spectrums are heard by our ears depending on room acoustics, environment, and directions where they are heard from (on and off axis); how room acoustics affect the overall sound reproduction of speakers; the advantages and disadvantages of using binaural recorders vis-a-vis non-binaural recorders; why it's not really necessary to use binaural mics to faithfully capture what a speaker sounds like in real life; and why using binaural recorders actually colors a speaker's sound accuracy because of room acoustics that are captured by the binaural mics, so on and so forth. Most laypeople have this mistaken belief that the only way a speaker's sound can be captured as close to reality as possible is by using binaural recorders. Not knowing that using non-binaural recorders is actually better if you want to capture pure sound accuracy without any colorations based on room acoustics. They immediately dismiss reviewers who don't use binaural recorders thinking that the mics suck or that they can't actually hear the speaker's accurate sound reproduction because it was recorded using a non-binaural recorder. It's about time you inform the public and correct them of this rather wrong notion. Again, thank you for the time and effort you devote into making these kinds of really informative and non-biased videos about speakers to help buyers make a wise purchase decision. Your channel has a lot of potential to grow because you REALLY know your stuff. I just hope your channel gets a lot more recognition that you deserve in the future. Cheers!

the app is meant to allow for stereo so it starts that way every time but i never got it working. just using partyboost with app would be mono yes.

no in this one stereo was pairing them together. but the flip 5s are meant to have wireless lock, pair them one time in stereo via app and next time no app needed. this doesnt work for me.

@@davidnathan7772 you want the speakers to pair with each but the master to be connected via aux right? as soon as you connect this way you introduce lag. what you imagine isnt really going to work for your use in the real world. not via bluetooth anyway. maybe theres some wifi enabled speakers that would but i really don't know anything within your budget that will work this way in terms of bluetooth speakers.

Of course you can seperate out the flip 5s but the bass on the boom to me will make it sound bigger.

If you are ordering it then i suggest getting the yellow or red color because i have not seen tl red and yellow charge 4s in stores or in youtube videos, all have been gg. I had a tl but i gave it away now i have gg and the tl had way more intermodulation distortion.

the charge 3 has a bigger soundstage but the flip 5s sound smoother, hard to say which i prefer without more of a listen.

Alan Ross Reviews yep you would think they would but they haven’t since ios 9 which was 2015, crazy! took them back and got 2 x xb32’s. i think i rushed into it however as it seems the Anker motion plus are much better although they are crazy expensive here in australia for some weird reason

Alan Ross Reviews after a few days I have experimented a lot and am really happy with the xb32’s sound. I like how the sound is really smooth for prolonged listening. The eq on the Sony app is lame AF so I’m using Denon Audios App with its great equaliser, I get the exact sound I require. We constantly search for better Bluetooth speakers but sometimes forget we can just use an eq app to get similar sounds to other speakers

@@theinfinate to an extent. first off remember your eqing over eqing, firmware based is best. Also you rarely get enough bands to properly eq something to near flat. if you like what you are gettign then thats all that matters :) did you ever try the xb30?

i dont know about release dates but if they make the xtreme 3 mono im gonna give up on JBL!

@@alanrossreviews Got it to work, but can't have anything connected to the second speaker to play from the computer or something. Pretty disappointed to be honest. Next speakers probably won't be JBL's.

@@steve31785 no i dont dislike it, it has a place as a fantastic travel form factor with an easy to pack pair. i just dont use it much at home. if it was my only speaker i would be ok with it.

They are using different materials for same model speakers resulting in different sound from same models but different versions of same speakers.
