I have an XB41 and I'm really happy with it. With treble set to max it sounds really good with a very nice low end. Micro USB charging is so convenient, it has NFC which the JBL does not, has LDAC support, and now costs literally half as much ($150). The lights are pretty sweet.
Aayushmaan /Anmgzi.Anonna xb41 has better bass than those 2 , if you use the equaliser it’s really good bro I have all these speakers so I can recommended this one, it gets really loud. Bass is really good for its size,you just need to configure the eq in the app’
Aayushmaan /Anmgzi.Anonna yeah you can, I push mids. I use 6+ to bass +5 to mids and +3 to highs and it gets way louder than the extreme 2 , I have both and I like both but xb41 is significantly louder

the mic and the fact it is a youtube vide that sends the sound trough your speakers makes them sound worse. and the xb41 is not much better than the xb40
The9thRapist frequency response of both speakers: Sony 20-20k , JBL 50-20k and the bass is cleaner on the Sony compared to jbl. Jbl radiators are ass and that’s all I hear when bass is present
Have not heard a jbl but I absolutely love my xb41 ! I think it’s one of the best things I have bought in my life! Cannot believe the price!!! My preference is using the eq with the treble on full.
I've gone to best buy multiple times and demo'd both the xb41 and xtreme2, and to me its the Sony that takes the cake. He's right about Sony delivering more and it does so in Spades compared to other speakers. But even if Sony didn't have their signature bass boost, the JBL's sound seems to me to be more pulled back and reserved. The same could be said about their over the ear headphones compared to Sony's over the ear headphones. Great bass and overall sound with Sony, reserved and pulled back on JBL.
Sony better, because the extra bass mode increases the low tones, so when the speaker plays at 30%, you can hear more low tones than the others, but you can hear nice bass, which is not JBL when you give louder bass in JBL increases. In Sony music center I set bass: +10, mids: +3, treble: +10 and I think Sony sounds perfect. The louder you give the more high and medium tones can be heard. That is why I always listen in extra bass mode because I hear strong bass when listening quietly
I went to a concert. All JBL Audio. Went to a theme park and water park. All JBL Audio. All my friends buy speakers. All JBL Audio. I don’t know what could go wrong. I’ve heard just about every JBL speaker available on the market. Nothing goes wrong with a good JBL. (Except for prior issues.)
The jbl xtreme 2 sounds imo a lot cleaner and less distorted, the jbl has the best sound. What do you guys think? Edit: something i forgot to mention was: is it worth it the jbl xtreme 2 or not?
It's definitely cleaner. I've heard the original Xtreme and the XB41 in real life, I can tell you the Xtreme is definitely the better one in terms of clarity. The XB41 has a bigger bass, but that's it.
I ordered Docking D fine +, not because of price, he is louder than Extreme 2 and has better bass, extreme 2 is very good because it's waterproof and he has clean sound but it's not for outdoor activities.
UPDATE: It arrived today. It’s pretty good for what I want it for. I like the lights, nice effect. I wish it were a bit louder, but I just pair it with another one as long as I can get it for 99 bucks.
For the lack of volume and mids for the JBL speaker, you get more rounded and powerful bass and crisper highs compared to the XB41 speaker, even with the extra bass on. Have the JBL compare to the XB41 again with Low Frequency Mode enabled.
First you changed the sound settings of xb41 without any particular attention and then you found that Sony has worse sound. I personally have xb41 and even people with different JBL models envy Sony. I don't understand why you criticized this amazing speaker so much.
Hm I own both of them so I can give an unbiased opinion and for me the Xtreme 2 also wins in the sound department. The XB41 just sounds muffled compared to the Xtreme even though the bass is of course better. But the extra tweeters on the Xtreme 2 prevent any distortion that the XB41 sadly suffers from sometimes. Also I can't really describe it but the Xtreme 2 bass is something you feel while the XB41 bass is something you hear....
The market is flooded with Bluetooth speakers it would drive you crazy just looking for a great speaker.. I'll stop in a bestbuy this week and listen to a Sony xb41 and make my decision

I was looking for a speaker in the lower category. I compared the Sony xb31 to several speakers including JBL ones. The Sony is the only one which actually plays back mid range frequencies. This fact can even be seen in your EQ measurement section! And speaking of actual audio fidelity. I think the Sony is the better choice!
I prefer the jbl because the sound is more cleaner and i like this punchy basses that they are more pronunced on the jbl, but with an equalizer you can do a very nice sound also with the sony srs xb41
Yeah, I have tried the Sony and it's true. It's very muffled compared to the jbl Xtreme 2. But now have a jbl boombox and this thing just blows me away
The Wireless Party Chain is easier for Android with NFC. Just press the WPC button on each of the speakers and give it some time, then find the speaker with the blinking Bluetooth logo on top. After that, just place your phone on top of the NFC logo found on the speaker and wala! I like to choose the jbl extreme 2 however without the flashly lights it's just not a party for me.
I have them both, and whenever i need to choose which one i should use or bring to party, to friends i take and prefer the Sony XB41, my personal respond to this video is that yes the xb41 just is better for me. Sure the LIVE mode does sound really interesting. Im not prefering the sony over the jbl because i like the sony company, heck i didn't even know they made this kind of stuff when i got it. Just telling what i think about it. :3

two questions: 1) Can you play it while it is charging? 2) If the battery gets old and needs to be replaced, is it easily replaceable / easy to find even if the product gets obsolete?

When you do the battery test for the Sony xb41. Do you include the time where the speaker locks the volume at a lower setting when the battery is low? Or is there a way around that dumb setting?

As always, it's more about personal preference. Sony is much brighter in the midrange. If you like vocals to stand out more then the Sony is what you want. I prefer the more balanced sound of the JBL. I've been looking for a Bluetooth speaker that isn't all bass and midrange, I may have found it in the JBL.
If u don't care about audio quality Sony is yo pick... I'd stick with JBL... having the xtreme already I know that the xtreme 2 is a decent upgrade sound quality, specially
The Sony xb41 is not an audiofile speaker. It sounds boxy and the mid range is topped off from crisp highs because there are no tweeters which limits sound separation. The bass is boomy without fine definition. In my opinion, it is an average speaker without highlights.
The other issue with this speaker is the battery design. At 20% the volume drops off dramatically. It becomes unusable in an outdoor setting. Even when plug in with AC power, the battery will still drain at high volumes. This is a major design flaw in my opinion. I did not pay full price for this speaker. For the price I paid, it is still not worth it. The Sony xb41 must be redesigned from the ground up.
Jack Konieczny xb 60 it has the worsed battery I have seen on a bt speaker it has no highs als always with Sony speakers and no the eq does not help and also the bass is not deep at all it’s punchy but yea basically it has no real bass if you don’t believe me check calvinetjunkies Video about it
Sony is a "toy".. It has sound effects , lights , smaller woofers , in the other hand JBL is a protable "tool" with bigger woofers and tweeters !! Give me a like if you have heard a JBL PA line array like VerTec.... True beasts!!👌
Well, I have Xtreme 2 and i can say that its very good but if you want to use it at outdoor parties, dont buy it. Its just not loud enaugh. Go for Boombox or something then. I used it at pool party and there was like 15 people (talking, laughing and making noise) and i heard people asking ''turn the volume to the max''. But i knew that its playing on the max volume already.... bad feeling. So yeah, Xtreme 2 isnt the best choice for parties. Overall im happy with it cause mostly im using it at home and its more than enaugh.

Man, Im sad. I REALLY Love Sony and want that XB41 badly! But when I heard the comparison, I was baffled. The Sony sounded much less clear and vibrant than the JBL. Almost as if it was muffled a bit. Dammit.
Sony x41 sound good and the bass. I just bought it plus 24 baterry life you can turn off the lights if you like and you can charge it with you phone cable.
You can look at the wave form and see the difference those tweeters make. Both are good choices, but the extreme 2 is obviously going to handle highs better.
XB41 is cheaper than Xtreme 2.. I'd rather invest on Sony because it has a Sony Service Center if its in case the battery would be damaged it can be replace. It has full support. Unlike JBL.
Dude I went into the store and paired the Sony up to my phone and it sounds fricjing amazing, live sound is nowhere near as bad as this dude is telling you, Xtra Bass is crazy even at low volumes, and I played at max volume and almost got told off XD but the speaker is epic and is $250 AUD
Actually, sony is better for fidelity and high resolution sound. It supports LDAC and AAC, which is better for WAV and FLAC files than the SBC JBL speakers are stuck on. Also, I have the xb41, and with the bass tuned back, it's clear in every facet. I'm not sure about keeping it cuz I want something of the awos exos 9 or xb60 caliber (BIIIG party sound and wide frequency and then I'll EQ it for a flat response). I might keep it though, not sure. It can get really loud and acts like it has a subwoofer in there.
I really dont like open passive radiators on the JBL. They should have at least some sort of screen over them, i know they dont have coils cause their not speakers, but if you tear one it would ruin the speakers sound due to air not being sealed in the box anymore.
Sonadre I have both of them and for JBL I have jbl boombox so sound quality of sony is also good and not muffled at all. You will never feel that Sony is producing bad sound comparatively yes if you place any of these next to harman kardan then that’s a diff story but jbl and Sony both sounds equally good
Wanted to buy Xtreme 2. Had it in my basket alredy, but then I checked how is it charged. And I will not accept yet another charger to take with me on the holiday. I charge everything from USB-C with PowerDelivery (for my laptop). Can't understand why expensive product from 2018 doesn't have this option...
