I have the xb41 speaker and extra bass can be turned on and off just like on xb40, by pressing the play/pause and volume down buttons at the same time for like 4 seconds the extra bass feature turns off. When the power light is green extra bass feature is off and when is white XB is on.
ANGRY WRARRL hahaha I know I have read all the instructions so that's why I'm giving that info... I really love xb41 speakers, the only complaint I have is the battery idk it's running low so fast well literally I use it everyday but I think they should figure that out for newer versions of it.
@ANGRY WRARRL Lithium Polymer, never losses it charge capacity., idk i have a phone, with Li-poly and its almost 2yrs now, its still the screen on time since I had it.
Jaimeson Hazel and you are right my friend. That extra bass button been there since ages in their car audio systems and those nice Ericsson walkman phones.
Passive radiators arent drivers that move by power they move by the air created by the drivers at the front so your right you cannot turn it on or off its just a EQ kinda thing
"Turns on the Second passive" TURNS ON THE PASSIVE... How can you turn on anything passive? It literally means it works passively: no action, power or human interaction needed.
I still chose the XB41. It has microUSB charging, it lowers the volume only under 20% charge, won't ever scratch, is waterproof and has a much sleeker design. It's really good for the bass heavy tracks I mostly listen to, I am not an audiophile by any means. Overall I'm very happy with it :)
Sorry but the xb41 has extra bass like the other it’s automatically on u can download the app and turn it off, live mode is for big rooms to sound like a live concert at first it sounds bad when you get used to it it’s very good.
@@aisejongsma3042 I personally tried jbl extreme, beats, srsxb40, srsxb41... Like I said srs xb40 is deeper in base just because it gives sound not as wider as xb41, I honestly love the xb41 just not the sound but the lights and bass just makes it xxxx beast... So for sure xb41, also it's waterproof and it has many many more options
extra bass does not "turn on" the second passive radiator. You have no clue about speakers if you don't know this. a passive radiator is passive and not active meaning that it moves depending on the force of the air inside the speaker cabin produced by the moving/ "active" speakers. Extra bass just enhances bass by making the speaker drivers move more in that frequency regiuon to produce more bass.
@@ankitsen5971 xb41 supports ldac too. it's a sony product with a sony proprietary codec. i have xb40 (and had for a few days xb41) and choose to keep xb40, because vocals and the treble sound more natural and warm (good for jazz, classical music). xb41 has more harshness in the upper-mid vocal range good for rock and heavy music.
On your website analysis under 4) Extra Bass/Live Mode you say that the XB 40 is the winner in the text and then announce in big letters at the bottom of that section: Winner XB41. The high end is a bit muted on both of them. They are both essentially mid-range/bass speakers. Sony XB20 is a far better speaker, but you will not get a party out of it. Small compact lovely speaker that sounds far better than the XB 40/41 models in my view as clearer treble. :)
2:32 it doesnt fuking turn on the 2nd passive radiator it just boost the bass And also the xb41 has extta bass too but u got to use the sony app to turn in it on
How does the XB40 take it over the XB41 because the 41 has a live mode? Even though it’s a shitty feature it’s still an extra feature that sounds someone decent with certain types of music. The 41 easily wins. You’re acting if they removed the extra bass feature. It’s now just automatically built in. You can remove t by holding the low and high volume buttons.
I had the 40 for a year and a half and traded it for a 41.Just returned it in one night. The Treble was sounding like it was under water.I almost cried.40 is way better.
Simon Says I checked out the two side by side in a store, I really couldn't tell the diffrence between them. The drivers themselves are not covered by the fabric as much as JBLs for instance if that's what you're asking.
Peti Gyurós I agree, I listen to both of them in the store, and there was almost no difference. that's why I ended up going with the xb41. And btw if you want either of these speakers to sound really really good, turn up the treble and turn up the mids slightly, it puts the speaker on a whole new level!
Tiz Chill clavinetjunkie has a great soundcheck/comparison between them. Soundwise the XB30 is unbeatable for the price, although the 31 is more rugged, can be charged via microUSB and looks much better in my opinion.
I just listened both at my home. I was really excited about buying xb31 but when compared to xb30, the sound was not so good, it distorts higher tones. So I bought xb30 and ended up saving 100$. Xb31 has brighter lights and looks cooler. It also has a microusb port but you can buy a usb charger for the xb30 from ebay for 5$. If you're very close and right in front of the speaker, the sound quality is probably the best I've heard in any similar sized speaker, especially the bass.
Guys I really need some help so I sold my JBL Xtreme one which in my opinion is better than JBL Xtreme 2 to then by the Sony xb41, in which my first one, it had only lasted 6 hours on full blast with the lights off but that confuses me because it says 24 hours battery life and even if that was for 50% it should still last at least 10 hours like the JBL Xtreme on full blast. so I took back my xb41 and replaced it , becsude it just seems that the battery life is bad especially considering that sony promises a 24 hour battery life and the JBL Xtreme only says 15 hours or so I think, yet lasts around 10 hours on max volume
@@brandonsing6615 the bass is great if you play disco music,RNB and the likes. But if you are more on classics, rock, blues, country etc.. i think bose is better. Xb40 is made for parties and modern groovy music.
@@yermoua8446 i have it for about 8 months now.. so far so good, no issues whatsoever. I couldn't believe its a second-hand item. Feels like brand new.
ZeeHaro yeah, it's honestly one of the biggest down sides to the speaker, but it does have a decent battery life so you should get some good usage before having to charge it again. To be honest I just keep the lights on my speakers off to save on battery life and I get like 3-4 days usage out of them before needing to charge. I don't know why they designed it to do that.
Hello my friends of Soundguys: I had the light of my Sony SRS XB40 permanent and stable, meaning no flashing, no DJ, no lighting effects, nothing but just a one color, stable light. But a couple of days ago I touched it something and now I can’t leave just the way I had it. I tried Sony Music Center and Fiestable, they offer “Raven”, “Cold chilling” and many other lighting options, but I don’t see any option to leave the light stable, one single color, no effects, no flashing, nothing else but just a simple stable light. How can I get that…? I thank you in advance for your help. Best greetings from Charlotte, North Carolina, Jose.
Antonio Machado I have a XB40 currently but I never saw there’s a light feature to keep it stable, the only way to do that is select a calm lightning option from Sony Music Centre app, then go to Fiestable app and choose “Illumination”, select “Custom Colours” then you can have single colour lights stable, but once you turn the speaker off you will need to do the same thing once you turn it back on (this happens on me, not sure is it same to your XB40, hope that this helps you)
Bryan Ferrer I use two XB40 speakers for my sony bravia tv with the extra bass on for action movies and it sounds great to me :) I the turn bass off for movies that are more dialogue heavy since the bass can sometimes make voices harder to hear. I can't speak for the XB41 since I don't own them, but if my XB40 speakers work just fine then I dont see why it cant work with the 41's.
That is great to hear!!! i was told i need an "audio out" on the bluetooth speaker to connect both but i think an "audio in" using a Y jack adaptor should be fine right?
Bryan Ferrer That's pretty much how I have mine setup. I have a Y adapter connected to my tv and then two aux cables running from each of the speakers to the adapter.
No its not mono. Having 1 still gives stereo output. Having 2 assigns the right and left channel individually to each speaker. So one speaker will play right channel and the other will play the left channel
since Sony did start to make speakers covered in fabric I do not buy Sony anymore. I need a durable piece of equipment not some shit which I can not wash under tap water.
The Xb 41 is rather a step back if you test the sound as an audiophile i don’t have any of these cause I’m not a Sony fan or something like that but for the xb 40 is better
ANGRY WRARRL Already by saying that they have the same drivers which they don’t you idiot shows that you are clueless or a Sony fan which is clearly shown by the way you have written I know what audiophile means you don’t know me so don’t say things you can’t know fuckin idiot
I returned the 41 in 1 night I had the 40 for almost 2 years it was amazing. They scrapped the 40 and repackaged the bigger speaker as the 41.But it sounds so bad the treble was watery I'm in mourning.
Christopher Smaak it's night and day difference. Absolutely no comparison, the xb40/41 kick it's stone age ass!!! Easily twice as loud, with bass you can actually hear!!
Check it out with an Android Oreo smartphone. The older series has LDAC and AAC, the newer (contrary to what Sony suggests on the website) merely SBC. Even the package shows no LDAC logo. A great disappointment!
carlosds MTV On the contrary, I have a V30 running Oreo and LDAC works like a charm! You might need to go into bluetooth settings and switch connection from most stable to best audio quality if it wasn't done automatically.
Peti Gyurós Very strange. And I have as phone an XZ2. To the older series, my phone says LDAC with your mentioned two options, to the new one stubbornly SBC. Maybe Sony delivers a worse firmware with the speakers to Germany.
carlosds MTV Do you have the Sony app installed? Have you checked the bluetooth settings I mentioned above? If nothing else works try resetting the speaker via the reset button on the back, or resetting your phone. I doubt that Sony would ship different firmwares, I bought mine in Hungary so they shouldn't any different.
How can we trust this channel when you don't even acknowledge you have incorrect information in this video? I understand some things can be subjective, but facts are facts - Fact is the SB41 does indeed have an XB option. This is the first and last video I'll watch from this channel. Do better
The 41 is a piece of shit.I had the 40 for a year and a half and just returned it for a 41 on my warantee. I took the 41 back in 1 night everyone was cringing bc it sounded so bad all the treble was a watery sound.Suck it 41 I want my old 40 back noooooooooooo.
