This letter screams “I went to law school but couldn’t get hired by anyone so I opened my own firm and have no idea how to actually practice law because I have no mentors or anyone to teach me how to do it.” (I was a paralegal for 20 years and trained more than one baby lawyer how to write professional letters + we had forms promulgated over decades for situations just like this.)
This is exactly what I said to my partner when we watched this - 'doesn't she have a paralegal to help her write these things?' It's truly mindboggling, I would not be surprised at this point if it turns out she's some flavour of Frank Abagnale Jr and never passed the bar or something mad like that.
This is just based on my observations in the last few years of knowing people who graduated law school and somehow managed to pass the Ontario bar exam: they'll let anyone in (to law schools) who tick the right boxes in their personal statements and...some people are good at cramming for tests? I guess? The latter part is more difficult for me to figure out. *Minor edit for clarity
@phantomkate6 my ex went to law school (and took 5 times to pass the bar...) and almost went to law school myself, so I know all but the top tier schools in the U.S. aren't necessarily restrictive with who they accept depending on the amount of applicants, and Janet went to one in the bottom 25%, so I don't want to make assumptions but 🤷♀️
@@derp195 those low-ranked schools notoriously teach to the exam and handhold their graduates through the exam process. passing the exam also means nothing about whether that person will actually be a competent, ethical lawyer. its essentially like every other standardized test, just cranked up to 100. it’s more hazing than anything else.

It is my opinion she typed this letter out with one hand with a glass of White Zinfandel in the other. My girl friends and I could come up with a better C&D after a bottle. Lol
1. Never contact my client, even publicly on social media. 2. Contact my client publicly to apologize. 3. Remove every post about my client. 4. Do not delete or alter any post about my client (spoliation). These demands are contradictory, and cannot be met. Janet could have used more careful wording to get similar demands (i.e. screenshot, but still remove posts), but alas, she is not known for their careful wording.
The copyright section had me LMFAO and screaming "how the fuck is she a lawyer?", the first headings were bad enough but that one had less legal substance than a blank sheet of paper.

I found that so gaslighty & attempting to be manipulative, it almost seems like an abusive partner trying to convince you that you're losing it. And it becomes something Janet can use, so that if Kitti got angry or upset on her vids then Janet could point to it and say "see, I was right to be concerned". All to try and justify the wellness check. And CCing in Kitti's mother is a shitty intimidation tactic.
This brings to mind the time an attorney threatened a frivolous lawsuit against the Cleveland Browns’ stadium and the General Counsel just forwarded the letter to the attorney’s office saying “we wanted to make you aware that some a**hole is signing your name to stupid letters”
Jamie Grayson is a CPST (child passenger safety technician) and has been for almost 20 years. LTM insinuated that he was a predator when she questioned his credentials because he’s a single gay man. He should be suing HER (LTM) for defamation.
When I heard this lawsuit, I looked up about "Lauren" and saw this controversy, I gotta be real... I haven't actually watched these videos, but of the quotes I've seen, I don't see where she said ANYTHING about him being gay. Just criticizing someone who is gay doesn't make you some homophobe. The thing that's crazy about this to me, is I have a lot of sympathy for Lauren in regards to the "controversy" surrounding her.. but the lawsuit seems pointless, brought by incompetents, and the "Wellness check" was just straight up evil.

We had to send our first “cease and desist” this year, it took about a week for us to collect and record all the evidence of malice and directed harassment for every situation to prove beyond a reason that these individuals were trying to be a problem only at a certain time and that our council would have an air tight case. The letter itself was less than a half page.

I had heard rumblings of this drama but didn’t pay attention. Now that I know it all started with car seat safety…. I’m invested! I was a certified technician and people like her spreading misinformation is infuriating to any technician! All car seats that have been tested and approved for sale in Canada (Transport Canada) and in the USA (NHTSA) are sage and legal. The safest car seat is the one a parent can instal correctly and use correctly each and every time!

The veiled threat of criminal complaint is worth a complaint to the bar. It's not that Braun seems to be incompetent, or sending letters to multiple recipients. There would need to be a complaint filed. Akilah Hughes should have filed a complaint to the bar against her first lawyer, this is in the same wheelhouse as that notice.

I'm not a lawyer, no formal education on the law. When I read this letter the first time, my impression was this is a 15yr old who didn't get their way, pretending to be a lawyer to bully the person they don't like. "A real lawyer would never send this unprofessional gobilty goop"... I was flabbergasted when I realized this came from an actual attorney. This letter contains a lot of projection (you think you're above the law, you don't know what you think you know, you're wrong, you're harassing, etc). Jeanette is damaging her own reputation; perhaps she should sue herself because she's blowing her own career up for the whole world to see. I just don't understand how any attorney can be this ill-advised on the law.
Everything I’ve seen from Janet’s legal filings makes me wonder who is dumb enough to hire her as an attorney… I wouldn’t be paid to hire her… She comes across as a sovereign citizen level of legal knowledge, while also seeming at least bordering on corruption…
My guess is other lawyers who are actually ethical told them no and that that's not how the law works. Miss Janet is the one who agreed to bully on their behalf. Those people then recommended her. I also know some people just hired her to help put in trademark stuff etc. but she can still say they're a client which makes her sound more capable than she actually is.
The part that is really scary is that the defamation suit that she has against Kitty Bekah & DWKT she actually found a lawyer willing to file that on her behalf so in that case Janet and Lauren are co-defendants not lawyer and client. Interesting what that does to privilege etc.
The thing about getting a lawyer is that they can and do say “thanks, but no thanks” if you have a weak case; let alone an insane non-case I think she was probably rejected by anyone good enough to turn down work, and/or found the cheapest lawyer she could find.
Given that this looks like something I wouldve written when I was 18 to scare someone, yeah I agree. (No I did not write fake legal documents at any age, I know to get a lawyer to write real ones)
My question after reading this is whether there's anything in this letter *besides* what looks like very poor and immature LARPing as an attorney, or if it's written by an actual attorney, a product of some altered mental state, or an influence of substances.

Ironically, the email that is purported to be blackmail is a better cease and desist letter than the "cease and desist" letter. I would immediately release a video of myself and a random character named Janet playing Twister in a giant mud puddle, with Janet losing miserably, of course.
If I got this letter, I would assume someone was falsely claiming to be the lawyer in question as an intimidation tactic. I would lose my mind upon finding out this wasn’t fake in the slightest.

There is allegations / theories that Janet may be associated with a businesswoman who is actively partnered with EDB. She may get stuck in the midst and not be able to cover it, it’s been theorized.

The founder of GC is using a photo of paige Christie's dead aunt and when the family begged her to remove, she hired Janet to sue them claiming gc owned copywrite over the image. It isn't alleged, it's confirmed, paige Christie's is a RU-vidr and has shared receipts over and over again. Gonna be honest, I'll be disappointed if EDB continues to partner with that company. They seem to be horrific people.
it’s about what your legal rights are. a demand letter is (presumably) based upon the person doing demanding requesting recompense that they are (hopefully/potentially) legally entitled to - eg, you hit my car, I have a right to get damages from you if I prove you were negligent, so give me those damages now. in blackmail, you’re demanding money you have no potential legal right to - eg, I found out you’re cheating on your spouse, pay me money to keep it quiet even though your cheating didn’t impact any of my rights.
In the case of the gas station its always possible that the traffic and rapid need for refills is actually causing the fuel supply company higher expense to load the tanks and could legitimately cause the prices to be higher. Increased land rent is also completely plausible. A cease and desist is used to cause others to bring materials out that would otherwise be unavailable in a situation of resolution as well as warn a party(s) that they are not only violating but the "find out" is coming. It is considered due diligence in many states in the US. The problem with this case is this "C&D" letter can be seen as a pattern of harassment along with the two _illegal_ calls to the police for wellness checks. This letter can literally face a countersuit for damages.
Kitti should do what the Cleveland Browns did in the 70s when they were sent a ridiculous letter. They responded by sending the attorney a copy of the letter and told him that some asshole is signing his name to stupid letters
