I don't know if heroic is the right word. Yeah Jeff was being unreasonable and confrontational but when Mark stood up to him, you can literally see Jeff break on the inside. It's no victory against a broken man. The poor fella was just lost and angry. He might've been an absolute arsehole to Mark, but as a person at his core, he was much more caring than mark ever was. Mark's a terrible person.

@@critNnn idk you can tell he had his own mini peep-show going on in his head, everything he did had to be at Mark's disapproval or for his own direct gain, that's why a solid 10% of the show is cuts of Jeff side-eying Mark while smirking, he's obsessed with tiny social victories and was long deserving of a talk-down regardless of how low he was at that point. He was no more and no less of a d-head than Mark, he just was more outgoing and more social which was really helpful sometimes but really telling in others.

At least Jeff was upfront about being a dick, its not like he tries to pretend he isn't like Mark does. Would rather have someone be shitty to my than pretend to my friend while fucking me over like whatever the fuck Mark was doing to Angus. Two sides of the same coin I guess.@@Frikcha

Yeah Jeff is a good guy. Mark takes his banter really seriously, which eventually pisses Jeff off. In the second clip he's really quite restrained. And the first time Jeff just said Mark needed help.

masakasama I don’t know. I think Mark fucked it up once again. Every character in Peep Show is deeply flawed in one way or another.

Dobby had an existential crisis and her entire personality changed after Gerard died. He left her a bunch of money as well, which she evidently used to travel, something Mark was opposed to doing.

@masakasama Mark made her insufferable, more like. Dobby even warns Mark "our relationship's not going to blow up unless you make it blow up"...and then he does exactly that. Stalks her ex-boyfriend, doesn't defend her honour at Christmas, boasts about having sex with her at Johnson's New Year party, lies about taking an MBA class at night, treats Gerard so poorly he dies, and then is so cowardly he can't probably communicate and propose to her (which he only wants to do because their relationship is deteriorating). Mark definitely did his fair share of terrible, idiotic things in every relationship.
