I was thinking something similar. Watchtower spent or contributed over $200,000 for Morris’ home. Other Bethelites that left just got their things packed into the car and told to leave; nothing else.

Building material cost money. Permits cost money. Nothing is ever free despite free labor and land. How Watchtower screwed you in the 💩 🕳️ without lub or warning is that you perpetually have to pay off the loans. So after it is paid off you still got to pay. That is very interesting.
They sold Hall in my town. The newly build. Seems they wouldn't get much money for old. Soy we hade to use Old hall after watchtower sold new one. They told us money went too Africa 😂
in the 80's in Australia we had a different experience. The local congregation saved up over some years and bought a sizable piece of land. The cong then had to save to a goal in order to get a loan from the society to do a "kwik-build" As I recall the total material cost was about $200 K . So the build cost itself was shared between the cong and the society loan which was repaid over the coming years. BTW the kwik build itself was an awesome experience over 3 days. A lot of preparation before hand including the concrete foundations.
When I presented this theory to the panel discussing Uncle Tony's departure, most of them immediately dismissed it, claiming it wasn't possible. Nevertheless, the Watchtower never fails to surprise.

Keeping in mind that Watch Tower is a business in the guise of a religion, this is typical and to be honest, totally expected. It's like in HR, whenever an HR person becomes burnt out, disgruntled or is in a place where their job may be eliminated (not however, in the case of one who simply decides to leave for another job), you ALWAYS make sure that the individual is WELL taken care of (wink, wink) when they leave. Why? It's really quite logical and simple. It's because they know where all the bodies are buried!! LOL!!!

Here I was struggling and down to my last $50 and worrying about my family being evicted and being criticized because I worked 2 jobs and “slacking” pioneer hours when these guys wear suits and jewelry that would’ve paid my grocery and rent for months. Even in office situations that I have worked in, the directors have a prepared sit down hot lunch 2gether every day. A congregation in wokingham uk was an old house that was donated by an elderly publisher and turned into a kingdom hall, no parking. It was very small. Because it was an expensive area the publishers were encouraged over a number of years to donate to improve the hall and widen it and a complete refurb rather than a new hall. The publishers abliged and donated thousands and one publisher left money in their will. Eventually a build was done. Hundreds worked on it. Within a year of its build, it was sold during a culling of kingdom halls in the area. Where do you think the money went?

But my relative in Sydney is out. Recently got into uch with a friend who's been out 20yrs. I havent been out long, plodded for ages not happy in. Saw so many bad things going on. tm then covid hit n never went back. Best decision. Finally happy. I've always had worldly friends, not paying or anything, just gym n exercise n now am in a bush walking grp. Life after this even at 62 can be possible. It's a lie told to jws that there's nothing out there. all the best to u n your happy future, esp if your young n doing it on your own n feel alone. Join something u enjoy n gradually you'll make friends. (U may already have done this n even better). I've read that in some places ex jws meet up. They will disfellowship u. It's your admission that u no longer want to be a jw. From my understanding if there is any mental illness or u say u will take legal action they may back off. They hate the words legal action. Ea congs body of elders r different. They may ask to visit u to give u a shepherding call n ask why. U can also just fade. Just know your choices. If u decide to let them visit u, be careful with your answers. U take control.... don't let them. Play their game to your advantage. I personally won't allow them to visit me if they ask n my husband knows that. My bro went through hell on earth with them with 2 divorses n he taught me much. Some tape the conversation also. There's more to the Polish garden story - the garden in the branch office in Nadarzyn was created by Marek Wira, a Bethelite, who devoted his life to creating and maintaining the garden around the office. The garden was even featured in gardening magazines. When the organization was searching for "savings", he was kicked out of Bethel and committed suicide.

My aunt had a new home built back in the 2005s by my grandma and shes leaving that to the organization (never had kids, married or sex) told all the nieces and nephews who look in after her we can have all the old stuff out of the house so we can clean it out for the sale after she passes and it goes to the organization and my mom says "they ain't Gon do nothin' but sell it"
So why did they buy a house next to Top Shelf Tony? Is someone going to live there to keep an eye on Tony? It's a critical time for watchtower. Tony just getting his walking papers. I served on the operating committee in Northwest Indiana and we had two out of five congregation leave so we split the operating funds in fifths. A new congregation joined us after the two left and the operating committee asked the new congregation to contribute a lump sum into the operating fund. The brother from the new congregation which by the way had been saving for a new hall for ten years but were unable to find property said that they had no money to contribute to the operating fund. I asked didn’t you have a building fund what about that? His answer, they were instructed to send all their building fund proceeds to the society! I believe their building fund was well over one hundred thousand dollars! The name of this congregation was the East Chicago congregation of Indiana. I put the name in this comment to substantiate the facts. This community is a middle to low income city we’re most live pay check to pay check so you can imagine the sacrifice the members put forth to contribute to the building fund only to have it taken by Watch Tower!
I’m from Brooklyn New York I was going to Bethel almost once a week growing up. Even got to stay in Bossert before they sold it. I left right before the “mass exodus to Walkill and Patterson” but I remember seeing a third of my old congregation downsize because of the Bethelites leaving. Eventually my congregation dissolved for multiple reasons but that was one of them

Or if they had niche skills that would be deemed more valuable they were sent to Walkill. The the other half were sent home which was rough because now that I look back at it many of those brothers and sisters didn’t have marketable skills they could transfer over into the workforce. As I put things into perspective the organization really threw them to the wolves because can you even fathom being in your 40s and 50s having no degree or legitimate experience outside of Bethel, that’s borderline cruel tbh…☹️
You left out some important information. Watchtower bought a house for Tony and his wife to live in, but the house belongs to Watchtower, not them. When they move out or die the house goes back to WT. It’s not even a house, it’s a townhouse. A two bedroom townhouse is not exactly a big deal. For a GB member getting kicked to the curb, this is small potatoes.

Oh you mean tony morris of Bottle gate fame? that tony morris who went 27 miles away from his headquarters on a Sunday morning around 11:00 am to bottle king and bought about 900.00 worth of Macallen scotch whiskey, so they booted him from being a governing body member only to give him a golden parachute? I wonder what other perks he is getting besides a brand new 250,000 dollar home, certainly at his age he no longer works so where is the money coming from to pay the bills and buy stuff like gas for the car and groceries? Kinda makes ya wonder if he has info on the other governing body members and he has been moved to private life being setup with a new home and Lord knows what else for his continued silence, he got busted at bottle king and now he gets a golden parachute? She must have little holes in her life that the Org fills - the need for community, wanting to see dead loved ones again, the need to 'make a difference'. Encourage her to express why the Org means so much to her, then you will know what angle to concentrate on. Though, you may have to accept that she needs it for now. As someone who grew up Winston Salem and now living in Wilmington, Lumberton is extremely dangerous. Surprised they placed him there. Probably because nobody would ever look for him there lol
Maybe they're hoping that, if Lumberton is that dangerous, something befalls poor Tony and he takes all the secrets to an early grave? Only by accident of course. I mean, if you think about it, there are two ways to address someone who knows where the bodies are buried. One is taking care of them for life, which can be expensive. The other is to dispose of them somehow. So this might be a way for the Borg to get rid of him without having blood on their hands. They might not be killing him. But by putting him in a dangerous area, they're making an early and violent death more likely. This is a really cynical and highly speculative way to think about it. Removing these videos makes it seem like something nefarious went down, and they're trying to send Tony down the memory hole. Also, as noted on the legal paperwork shown in this video, the house was given to Tony and his wife as a "life estate subject to an executory limitation." Unfortunately, I don't speak legalese. Does this mean that ownership of the home reverts back to WT when both Tony and his wife are dead or if Tony or his wife do/say something against WT?
Tony Morris in the End was a threat to WT organization the attitude he had towards the Ex-JW community in turn could be used against the Good old boys GB’s so they payed him off with a house and hush money 😂

That they bought him a house is not quite accurate. They bought themselves a house, and are allowing Tony to live in it rent-free, until he either dies or moves. And 250K is not a whole lot for a house these days. But the WT should not have kept that deposit money. That was just flat wrong.

Years ago my mother lent them money for a Kingdom Hall here in Ontario Canada , when she died she left them also a good sum of money . Sadly my sister in law and her husband also a JW made sure the will was never seen , They did agood job of convincing her that me and my brother were the bad guys . To this day I still say it was fixed , even though I went to the head one at Kingdom hall he backed them up . A total shock and lies they got away with it . Seems like so much cover up among all the members .
I wonder how Sam Henry that lived on the same floor as me in the 122 portion of 124CH would feel if he knew that TM3 got this sweet deal after Henry and his wife were let go and "assigned" to live in the middle of nowhere Illinois after almost 30 years of bethel service. Fortunately they had a good GJob gig that carried over for them after they left. He was one of my favorite circuit speakers before I walked away.
