True. Jerry Reed is cool as f**k. I remember coming home as a 8 year-old after seeing Smokey & The Bandit and my babysitter told me it was bedtime. I of course was still feeling the rush of the film replied, “son of a biiiiiiiitch!” I earned a week’s worth of punishment for that line-so worth it! Long live Smokey, the Bandit and Fred!
Thank you ! Great choice. People don't realize how good some of the old country pickers really are. Jerry Reed , Glen Campbell , Roy Clark , clean no effects like BB Kings guitar sound. Very clean and smooth. Look up Roy Clark on the Odd Couple , and Glen playing the William Tell Overture.
That Roy Clark odd couple thing is no lie one of the most amazing guitar performances I ever saw, and to think it was just played on an episode of some sitcom ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--xssnp7R51A.html He can also play the heck ouf ot the fiddle too
@@meganparsons9106 and the bango. Another good example is Roy with Glenn Campbell on a 12 string guitar playing "Ghost Riders In The Sky". Glenn's success as a vocal artist has over shadowed his instrumental abilities to just casual listeners.
And Jim Stafford too his version of Malegana is awesome and funny. Glenn said he and Roy had an agreement, " I won't play Malegana and Roy won't play the William Tell Overture"
It's best to understand music in it's context - I never would have given Bluegrass a chance until I saw Oh Brother Where Art Thou. Now I love it. When you see people playing music in their context, joyfully, it just hits your soul in a new way. Music and food, the best tools for peace.
Two of my favorite musicians right there. Jerry Reed had a knack for writing groovy, quirky, and humorous songs, like "When You're Hot, You're Hot, Here Comes the Judge, or She Got the Goldmine.
Did you know that Uncle Jerry plaid the villain coach Red Bayou, in "Waterboy"? Can't go wrong with Jerry playing anything, but add in B.B., damn. Their performances of "Can't leave your love alone", and "The thrill is gone" are among my favorite live performances of all time. Also, maybe check out Jerry and Chet Atkinson preforming Bob Dylan's "Don't think twice, it's alright".
B. B King is an all time great and glad to see you reacting to him and Jerry Reed. Jerry is one of the best guitarist ever. Both making it look effortless!
I can't believe that I have seen this. BB King is the King, but Jerry's skill are awesome as well. A thing that many people may no be aware of. Jam on!!!
Love the blues, and, when it's BB King, the song is never long enough! Have been stuck in bed from a dislocated sacroilliac, thank God it's now a memory
Blues are my music of choice and all I've listen to all my life, Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King and Black Sabbath are my favorites of all times, love your channel bro.
Reed was one of only five people to have the title of Certified Guitar Player (an award bestowed only to those who have completely mastered guitar) and Chet Atkins gave him the title.
jerry reed is actually got the guitar award after his death for learning how to play the guitar in all ways know. so I ask of you could you react to his song "lightning rod", their should be a live version from 1977
I just noticed ya haven't done any Stevie Ray Vaughn. If you like guitar you'll love Stevie. Check out him and Albert King In Session and pick any song. Born Under a Bad Sign is my fave.
You still need to check out Steve Vai. Especially if you want to hear some guitar talking. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend " For the love of God, or " tender surrender "
When I saw this Drop I couldn't think How Jerry was gonna Stand up to B.B. but he surprised me lol If you lived in Louisiana I know you've heard of Buckwheat Zydeco the King of that genre! Zydeco = Dance (you Must Move to the Rhythm)! Best thing about Louisiana is (in an Emergency) I could go to the Drive Thru and get a 32oz White Russian with a Straw...... Wow I miss that State sometimes! How u Doin Abra?
Of course , I got all into the culture , and lol I was telling people about those Daquri Huts , pull thru and get your drink on lol, I’m good Colleen, how are you doing
2 very genius performers! You know Susan Tedeschi toured with BB and since her and husband Derek have many collaborations with BB. They organized tribute concert for both BB and Joe Cocker. They play it and live it as Susan Tedeschi has paid band and road crew throughout pandemic. This link from Joe Cocker's tribute concert will take you to "A Little Help From my Friends" like you've never heard it, ultimate Jam Band performance ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x3yJTI7otqA.html
Sir B.B. King using using music to bust racial barriers way before it was cool to do so. a true pioneer and such a great soul. got the privilege to see him in concert 5 times in New Orleans.
