haaa! Everyone in the cast is so funny and wonderful, and then there's Tal who just lands funny insights like this. He's usually so quiet, but when he nails it ... :D
I love how Laura seems to just completely lose control of herself when Jester sends messages. She just says things without entirely meaning to, and has to clamp her hands over her mouth to stop speaking!
She is so good at getting into and staying in character. she knows she shouldnt waste the words, but she puts on her Jester and just goes for it. Every message is a classic
Current head cannon for this is that any of them always keeps track of how many words are spoken by Jester each time she does a Sending, both IRL and in-game, too....
The best part of this is that Sending is a straight up Cleric spell, not a Trickster Cleric spell. Caduceus could totally prepare and cast the spell himself, but they let Jester/Laura do it because it's wonderful.
I love how caduceus is onboard with anything that happens. He gives a double thumb up like “hey, that went great, keep going! This is everything I wanted!”
for that entire episode jester was hilarious and laura's giggles were more powerful than ever. both her and travis were so happy and ready to joke with everything it was amazing.
Jester's Sending adventures are just the very best things. I love the dark stuff and the heartfelt character moments and the big battles that make you sweat, but my god. Every time Jester sends i just about pee my pants.
It's amazing to me how after 126 sessions spanning like 2 or 3 years Laura STILL can't do a sending right and even amazes herself with how stupid she can make them - i love it
My head canon is jester in any spare time just messages random people they've met asks them "how you doing" They barely remembering who she is. Like Hello random guard I met walking down street
Each time I see sentences starting with "Hello random (insert random character" I immediately continue the sentence in my head in the format of Joe Wilkinson's poem about naming strangers' penises.
As much as I love Jester's hilarious message Sending spells, there is one serious one that I hope they get to do later on. I have it in my head that if Fjord and Jester are still alive and it gets to the point where Fjord wants to ask Jester to marry him that he asks while having her use Sending. What I mean is that Fjord seems like a traditional type of guy, so he would be one to ask for Jester's mother's blessing to propose marriage to Jester. The scenario would be that Fjord wants to ask for Jester's hand, but can't wait to meet up with Marion to get permission as the Nein are far away, so he writes a 25 word message to Marion and gives it to Jester and tells her that he needs her to use Sending to Jester's mother. He tells Jester to not say anything else but what's on page he wrote. The message explains who it is, that he is madly in love with Jester and asks permission to propose. Fjord would then parlay that message of asking permission into his actual proposal to Jester. Like as she reads finishes reading it he is down on his knee with a ring, when Jester turns around. Mainly, I want to see the group's reaction to the note as Jester reads it. Especially Laura and Matt's as they're going to have to continue acting throughout the reading of the note.
New thought if/when there is wedding Jester invites The Traveler, Marion and The Gentleman to the wedding. I want to see Matt Mercer have to play all three characters interacting with each other at the same time.
And Jester does it again. "Doot doot doot." "Donuts." "Hi, Dad." "Creepy sh*t." The whole two messages to Astrid. Ok where is that compilation video? I need a good, almost painfully so, laugh before bed. :D
What spell allows Jester to cast message over long distances? Is it just the message cantrip, but some extra cleric class stuff or is there something bigger I am missing?
I tried joining on online RPG group. The DM was really pissed we weren't any good at doing in voice character role playing like these guys. Like he expected a bunch of anti-social nerds to be professional actors and speakers. He literally chided us for not being like Critical Role.
Instead they have: Imogen who gets unlimited messages, but is much less funny about it, Laudna, who has the sending, in a hilarious way, FCG, who can make you feel like you are being watched, and a sending stone
Good morning Sir Shortlan, i was wondering why the Mighty Nien dont hire Veth's husband to make potions for them . i mean he is an alchemist by trade and I sure he would be more then happy to provide some aid to the group and his wife while they are away doing..."creepy shit". its just a thought.
It would be a very good idea. Perhaps when they finally get to Nikodranas someone will have that sudden revelation! Either that or Matt will try to hint... (p.s not a big deal but it’s miss shortlan 😂)
Veth has already handed her husband MORE than enough money to get a new lab and start making lots of potions. But... he is still traumatized from both Vess De Rogna and his capture. He hasn't really tried to do alchemy again.
Umlauts change the pronunciation of the words that they're in. Pretty much every other word Jester said after "creepy shit" was pronounced oddly, to say the least
Query; Why does the 'message' spell in Matt's game work like this? The actual rules are a completely different spell, really. I can't find any reference in DNDBeyond or the Wildmounte book. Help ?
