You don't want to miss this very important and insightful sermon by Pastor Jeff Durbin. There are a lot of fictitious views of the "end times" on the scene, today. Pastor Jeff is working through the Gospel According to Matthew and getting to the Olivet Discourse. Matthew is telling a story. A story that began long before him. Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem and His confrontation with the religious leaders has more to it than meets the eye. Watch and see. Tell someone and give this to someone else.

As a truck driver, I have no local church to go to. I listen to apologia church because I love the God centered biblical teachings I've seen and heard. What I love most about Apologia is the pro-life work that I've seen you guys do. Amazing to me the way you walk out your Christian life.

I'm super encouraged by their stuff too! They're awesome. One thing I would just encourage you as a brother to do would be to find a local church to be a part of at all costs. We can't live this Christian life without being part of a local biblical church. God bless you

Hi Jeff we are watching your .service on the streets everything your teaching lines up with what we are teaching at the Potters Way Community Church here in New Zealand down under, 2000 miles past Australia. We wont budge on the truth and we certainly do not accept the Cults JWitnesses , 7th Days, Mormons etc . We follow the Word true and straight. I would like to thank you from all of the Christians across the seas who watch your programs on the net we use them in our classes yes you are realy famous over here and i tell our congregation to go and look at your confrontations which i love watching myself.God Bless your work Jeff and thank you so much from our pastors and leadership team. This is a great sermon, Jeff is one of the best preachers in America I just wish he applied the same hermeneutic to the issue of baptism

So I have a question for Jeff, if he could please answer. In (Matthew 22 : 29 - 30) he says they dont know the scripture, but ive heard, nowhere in the bible does it say that. My question is, is there a place in the bible where Jesus is actually referring to, or could it maybe possibly be from the book of Enoch which I've also actually seen the verse myself? Thanks for this great sermon anyways, I learn something new every time I watch you and the other pastors preach! 🙏 May the lord bless Apologia Church with the ability to pursue his will!!!

When Jesus replied about the inscription of the coin, (I’ve thought of this for many years), it reminded me of the commandment of No engraven image. Curious how to take that commandment and what Christ may have been pointing out about the engraven image on the coin. Specially since they were not to have images.

Not intending to be difficult, but rather wanting to learn. Where does it say in the bible that we are to attend a church? I do see how the bible is referring to the body of believers, but I am not seeing where it says that a believer "must" attend a church; meaning a religious denomination made by man. Please help...

Hebrews 10:25. Not to neglect to meet. Hope this helps

@@lew1689 Kind of. I think believers should meet and it does make us stronger, but the organized man-made religion part is where I get confused. When I attend my current church (yes, it is Reformed) I see a lot of tradition and ceremony that I don't read about in the Bible. Maybe it is just the church I attend, but to be honest I have a really hard time putting money into the collection when all that money goes to is for the building. The money collected during services can't be used to help another believer. It can only go to a corporate entity that I don't think has anything to do with the mission Jesus gave us. Thus my quandary.

The Bible commands us to meet other Christians regularly. A church building is just a place where this meeting typically happens. Back in Biblical days, they would meet mostly in their homes and secret places due to persecution from the outside world. You don’t have to go to a church building - as long as you’re having regular contact with other believers.

Jesus Christ's relationship with Jerusalem, and the Jews more generally, is paradoxical. They are the chosen people, but they are divided as to whether they should accept Jesus or not. But, and this is important to realize, no matter how wicked some of them were Jesus said: *Matthew 23: 1-3* 23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. This means that there are two states to the People of God, the clerical state and the lay state. The clerical state, even if it be filled with hypocrites, can never be neglected and is integral to the People of God. Certainly, a wicked clergyman will not enter Heaven, but he has an indelible authority vis-à-vis the People of God. This power was for example used in John 11: 46-53 by the Jewish clergy to make an infallible statement. *My point is,* don't be rebellious, things are more complicated than they might seem. Today, this authority has been transferred and augmented with the Romans, more specifically the Roman Catholic Church. We see in the Bible that the greatest faith ever seen by Jesus during his earthly life was that of a Roman (Mt 8: 5-13). And we also see in the Bible that the worst faith of ever seen by Jesus during his earthly life was a Jew (Mk 6: 2-6). This seems to indicate that the center of clericalism would be replaced by Rome, dislocating from Jerusalem, (Mt 21: 43). This is reinforced by the Bible when we see that after Jesus dies on the cross, the Spirit exits the temple and converts Romans as the first converts after the cruxifixion, reconizing first that Jesus is the Son of God (Mk 15: 39; Lk 23: 47, Mt 27: 54). The authority of the Jews was transferred to the Apostles, and the chief Apostle as well as Paul the second, died in Rome. History in general, and also the Bible in 1 Peter 5: 13, testifies that Peter went to Rome and died at Rome. There he, as the leader of the Apostles and the Church (Lk 22: 24-32), chose a successor to sit on his chair, his cathedra in Latin. We must therefore obey, as Jesus showed us, If you have questions or anything, feel free, but be christlike and remember that if Rome has the authority then whatever Rome teaches dogmatically(to be believed by everyone as infallible) is in fact infallible regardless of you personally agreeing or not with it. Filial piety is necessary, as Jesus pointed out in Matthew 23: 1-3, to be most pleasing to Jesus, his words. christiantheorist.weebly.com/basics-of-the-holy-faith/category/01-the-church-of-jesus-the-christ-is-one
