I been flying the JF-17 on the past few days and i just love her! BVR is great! the SD-10 perform fantastic at high alt, at low not so good! in this sortie i managed to splash 2 targets and had a fun sneaky chase at the end, i hope you guys will enjoy the video!

Good, and the advice I have is just that VS mode will pick up just about everything in the sky (assuming it's not cold) and gives you the longest range lock (though it does STT lock not 'bug'). In VS, the higher the brick, the quicker it's coming at you. You don't get the range on VS, but when you lock you will, and it might help with target prioritization, seeing which one is faster. Also if you have an awacs, then VS will give you range, because you see it, you're feeding data to the awacs, and it's scanning and getting the range. Spot mode - if you hold down the 'lock' button while moving the TDC, you activate 'spot' mode. It will make the scan volume a lot smaller and scan just that specific part of the sky, helping it to build a track quicker.

Probably one of the better uses of jf17 cap I have seen. Using jammer and shooting at targets while lifting the nose to get Loft. But you where still making a few mistakes... Well not mistakes but there are some improvements you can make. One on the armament page set your SD 10 that size to small. This will go pitbull at a later stage so you have to hold the lock for longer but gives the other fighter less time to defend. Not sure why you are in track while scan? Would recommend just using range while scan in the jf it's much better same capabilities as tws but better search coverage and locking ability. I feel like your jammer wasn't set up correctly. Put that jammer on type 2 so you are always jamming. Your aircraft can jam and track at the same time reducing your opponents information and not allowing them to shoot till 20 nautical miles.

Setting up the SD10 to small risks the missiles changing the target to the enemy Fox 3 or Fox 2 and since I knew I was going to engage multiple targets I couldn't risk losing a Fox 3 meaninglessly. While I understand what you mean with RWS I prefer TWS since it allows me to be more secretive when engaging from so far away, especially to human targets. I set up my Jam forward with type 1 because i didn't want them to know I was coming and using the type 2 is basically screaming I am here, somewhere in this direction, that server doesnt have proper AWACS coverage so you depend a lot from what you and your team can see, but I do agree with you, if I was fighting on another server like Blueflag, SG or DDCS I would have set it on type 2. @@ToteTorresWWi to play on a server that has no awacks cover at all and use this setup I have stated with insane success. Setting it to small will be very unlikely to lock onto their fox 3 😂 small is not missile size small it just means the target is more nimble so giving them less time will increase chance of kill. The part about the jammer is understandable but do you think these people can't read rwr? This give away your position as well. All I'm saying is the advantage of type 2 is you can lock them at the normal distance but they can't till 20 nautical miles.. well they can lock you but they won't get burn through till 20 nautical. Type 1 is used against Sam threats. But each to their own. The part about the rws giving away you are locking them confuses me? Rws doesn't inform anyone of a lock?

@@dominickkm5125 I recommend you to test the Small Sd10 setup, I have lost so many Sd10 due to a 120 passing near it, you can test it yourseft. While the RWR sees my approach the intensitiy of the signal is weak in TWS compared to RWS so for example if the enemy is an F16 then it will be harder for them to estimate my distance purely from their RWR but if i am using RWS and have a soft lock on them then the strenght of the signal is stronger and the F16 rwr shows that therefore they know i will launch soon or alreayd launched. I do not disagree with you the type 2 is way better than type 1 i simply choose type 1 for my own reasons on that sortie, just shareing back my own expiriances. Again thanks for your thoughts and info.

@@ToteTorresWW yeah I have too many hours in the jf17 have never had the SD 10 in small go for a aim 120 yet. But the part about tws and rws I will test this. As from my experience the strength doesn't make much difference especially since the f16 doesn't display signal strength any more. Only the priority. I would recommend you try the server I play on DDCS and try the tactic. The players on there are very good players. And I think you will find difficulty in this tactic. But don't get into the server as the learning curve is steep.

Thanks for the heads-up on the RWR changes; I wasn't aware of that shift. I've had some experience on DDCS before-it was indeed fun, but I found it a bit too easy at times. The abundance of Combined Arms there occasionally made the server feel a bit predictable. Personally, I tend to stick to the air for a more focused experience. Appreciate the suggestion thought. Havnt been there in a while so might check it out again soon.

I went back into the replay, and got a couple of clips for that, by pressing F3 (creates a camera ahead of the plane to watch it pass) and just timing the right moment

@@ToteTorresWW but the F3 camera is the flyby one and its centered and stabilized on your plane and here you are moving it out off the center and changing FOV etc...
