@@clickycal More or less. The way they've built Robotnik/Eggman in the movie, there's different levels of madness that Jim is clearly very interested in exploring. That, I think, is what will keep the character interesting for him at least for a second movie.

Jim carrey is just a wholesome being Plus there has to be a sequel, because unlike a lotta video game movies this one did brilliantly, Nobody knows if Longclaw died for Sonic or survived, Dr. Robotnik hints at it at the end, Tails also hinted it and now Jim Carrey himself is hinting at it. Also Sonic and Tom's behavior in this movie kinda seem like they aren't ready to end yet.

Great job Jim. Of it wasn’t for the source material do the original Badnicks, I imagine the new creations of his could be based on Agent Stone. Taking names and inspiration from rock names, like a fire spiked robot with a name similar to Iginus. One that changes form to be metamporic. A crushing bot sedimentary. A displacement of his struggle for the one that’s comes to to being a friend despite how he feels he’s revolved far beyond humanity. Just an idea. But be cool to see the classic badnicks too. Have fun Jim. We will too.

That sounds absolutely awful. Mario is a boring character and could never hold down a scene in a movie and there is zero plot behind smash bros other than gather every character from every video game ever and make them fight. Not exactly a gripping story for a movie. Sonic on the other hand was made for movies/comics etc. because there is a lot of room for story telling and lore to explore.

@@scarletbouvier520 Avengers had built in character stories and chemistry from decades of comics. Mashing up a bunch of video game characters (of which many have little or no backstory) from separate franchises just wouldn't make for a compelling story. There are probably a few that could come together to make a compelling story, but I just don't see a movie where Lil'Mac and Samus come together to fight jiggly puff, to be a very compelling story.
