Cody/Dustin vs Young Bucks or Cody vs Omega could work if they did the match/feud the way that would play to Cody's strengths. Half the time I watch AEW, I basically zone out when the Young Bucks are on or when Omega appears (although I disagree with Cornette about Omega not knowing the basics, he just chooses not to do them and it makes him look awful as a result). Cody calling out the Young Bucks or Omega as a heel and basically aligning himself with Dan Lambert/Ethan Page/Scorpio Sky/maybe The Pinnacle would be nuclear heel heat. He could talk about himself similarly as Roman Reigns' "Head of the Table" gimmick and force wrestlers to pick a side (his or AEW's) would be a lot more compelling than "Tony Khan picks up another indie wrestler or former WWE wrestler and puts them in a match" every week.

It's why I cut Tony Khan soooo much slack. His evps have been like a brick in swim trunks. Aew has the most talented tag team division since JCP mid80s. And theve gotten 0 teams more over. Lucha bros are less over than before aew and jungle bros arent happening.

Dynamite hit 1M views their debut episode, and haven't ever gotten as high as that until the CM Punk debut or a heavily-advertised match featuring Bryan Danielson vs Adam Page. EVPs have seen them struggle to get over 700K weekly views until Tony Khan hired more ex-WWE talent to do the job the EVPs couldn't.

@@teecakes it's not that the evps are grade a talent and draws. They arent B grade draws and theve asked khan to hite all their friends who arent D grade talents. They are dead weight. Letting guys like stunt go gives me hope though for the future

Thank you Travis for being the level headed person speaking logic. Even if he gets to be the John Cena of ROH he should have still been appreciative that anything he was getting in AEW was better than star dust.

The heel turn for Reigns was also a huge boost to him. No one wanted him as a baby face as they kept pushing him as the next Cena. Now that he has taken on this head of the table gimmick, He certainly has gotten far less heat from fans than he has.

Yeah I was a huge fan of Cena as a kid but looking back, he should have either turned heel or stepped away from the main event spot sooner. He did do the latter in 2015 when he became United States Champion for the 3rd and 4th time and started issuing open challenges, which many fans regarded as some of the best work of his career as it injected new life into the US title and helped introduce younger talent like Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to the main roster's casual audience. Now, with Cena getting older and advancing his career as a Hollywood actor, he wrestles less and is cheered more by the fans when he shows up once or twice a year - they now respect him as a veteran of the business and one of the last true Megastars. As Cornette always says, "How can we miss you if you don't go away?"

I don't know why a wrestling company would NOT want to go with a crowd's momentum. Imagine if WWE would have kept Stone Cold as a heel when the crowd kept cheering him like crazy. It just wouldn't have worked.
