It was probably Tychus firing the first couple shots, and then Raynor with the headshot.

To be fair hydralisks probably get a 6+ save considering they have 0 armor in game. They’re probably T4 with 2 wounds though based on their health compared to a marine’s (who I’m guessing is T3 and 1W).

@@seanwhitman8353 Probably a 6+ base then 5+ with shields? I know combat shields give health instead of armor in game, but bumping them to 2 wounds would be a crazy increase. Way better than +1 save. Zerglings would be T3 1W with no save, and Zealots might be T4 1W with a 5+ or 4+?

cant wait for starcraft 3 for when Warfield returns as a dragoon only to get betrayed by Kerrigan then die. Then Starcraft 4 when an AI copy with Warfield's memories joins the crew and thinks he's Warfield but over the course of the Terran campaign learn about his true nature and eventually take on a new name.

That wasn't even the power armor. That was just the sheer unadulterated *hardass* flowing through his veins, and the pair of *tungsten spheres* hanging between his legs.

A sling wouldn't be as useful as you might think, given that the C-14 Gauss rifle weighs roughly 20kg and how the Terran Marine CMC-300/400 suits are built there's quite literally no way for a sling to be used with the suit and to the controlled bursts? Yeah that don't mean jack to the Zerg, have to mag dump on them to keep them at bay.

First, the gun is damn huge compare to our normal assault rifle, so they can also carry a lot of ammo. If I recall correctly there is 2000 bullet per round for standard gauss rifle. Second, the arm-mounted thingy has been done. It is called Marauder.

I wonder why do they even bother wearing that armour at all. All that mass you have to lug around, and all that money and resources wasted, on something that doesn't seem to protect you from anything.

@@xxfalconarasxx5659 wellll... those suits usually are capable of giving protection against hostile terrain and terrible weather, plus it gives a few seconds to the guy inside to have his ribs rebuilt by nearby medic, so I think it would've been far worse if they didn't have that armor

They don’t have any, this shield is generally used for tactical nuclear launch, or any violent blast next to the suit’s wearer. We can see Jim using it at the end of HotS, when Mengsk just... explode, and in the cinematic trailer of Heroes of the Storm, when Nova is launching a nuke. Even if they had cameras, their vision field will be highly reduced, and an hydralisk shot can easily pierce the steel.

​@@agroulesupermarinespitfire4209 My point exactly with how Jimmy used it in HotS, and when I meant shield it's not obviously something the Protoss would've been sporting, I meant it as a basic form of protection, like what an actual shield would've been. I don't know how a nuclear blast can be withstood and some unexplained psionic implosion from the Dominion's Emperor himself goes kaput, which makes no sense when compared to seeing Marines kick the bucket from a Hydra Spine, it's just Sci-Fi, in the end of the day if an advanced ballistics rifle can be outclassed by a spine lobbed by muscle flaps from some transformed nightmare caterpillar, that, and that Terran Tech is intentionally flawed much like the Protoss.

Suit protects from nuclear blast out of effective range. It cant protect inside blast radius.​ Hots cinematic isn't cannon. It is just for fun.@@notrequired602

The Terran campaign was great and I genuinely enjoyed the HotS dynamic Raynor and Kerrigan had but critically the narrative of SCII falls apart in the final campaign. I do still like it though.

Still a better love story than Twilight.

Considering that Hydralisks fire their spikes *at speeds faster than the fucking hypersonic C-14* it's a little difficult to make something that can tank THAT.

Needs to be more Grimdark to be 40k. More purity seals and a guardsman being executed for no reason by a Commissar for having a dirty uniform in the middle of a battlefield.

Well, you saw how his arm stopped those spines? Presumably they would have gone all the way through an unarmored person. Through the arm, torso, and possibly the guy behind him.

The suits give basic environmental protection, a HUD, (heads up display), flashlights, a limited oxygen tank for a small amount of space exposure, strength boosts, and generally improved survivability for the soilder.
