Amazing performance. I only wish the Clarksdale album sounded as animated in the studio. The live versions of this, Heart In Your Hand, Most High, When The World Was Young and Shining In The Light were monstrous.
I just discovered this performance since I have been listening to Led Zeppelin for the past several weeks for the first time in decades. This is a masterful performance by two artists who transcend time and legendary status. At any age, Robert Plant is still the seducer and Jimmy Page is broodingly handsome. There are insufficient words to capture their stratospheric talent and creative genius.
So Jimmy was 54 years old here. Short hair and chubby, still so handsome and seductive, always the guitar wizard, skillful hands mixing music and magic. Plant as always, charismatic!
Can't get enough of this for many reasons. As a life long zep and page fan, I absolutely loved this record, I thought it was great, I still listen to it. I think both page and plant sounded their post Zeppelin best on this tour. These tracks sounded great mixed with the Zeppelin material they played. And lastly, how cool is it to see page wailing on a PRS? And sounding f@#$ing great on it!! I almost wish he would have considered this guitar more often.
Grateful to have caught this tour. I bought tickets but won 4 additional tickets with better seats from local MEM Rock 103. Great memory. Thanks for posting always loved the live version of this song over the album.
This is so cool. Wish they had remembered John Paul Jones’ phone number and done a Led Zep reunion in the 1990s though (live tours and original material) would have been the right time to do it and would have been awesome.
This track is so much better live than what was churned at the studio. Love Jimmy's solo on here. Only wish Jimmy had more vehicles to express his musical genius past this project.
YEAHHHH! Love it!!! This album WIC! April 98! What a surprise this is! Any chance of “Most High” 🤘🍻. Thank you for this !!!!! Loved this era! 💚🤘☘️. My Bday during this time of 98! “Most High” was being introduced to the World! Thank you again for the Awesome and Amazing channel!
I think they performed it in New Orleans. I renew e them broadcasting that show and I recorded it off the radio. I’m pretty sure they played it. Maybe it was When The World Was Young 🤔😆
Personally, I thought the "grunge thing" was trying to keep up with Zeppelin. For instance, Soundgarden sounded like a combination of Black Sabbath and Zep. And I loved them for it!
