In my mind I was telling this guy NOT to go inside as he testified. The poor man has been traumatized and seems to have retired from his practice soon after he found his friend dead on the floor. Most surgeons practice longer than 20 years. I don't think Dr. Petrites practiced 20 years when he was used by Mark Sievers to find Dr. Siever's dead body. If I were a juror I'd already be prejudiced against both defendants due to this testimony. Separating the trials won't help either defendant. Mark Sievers was obviously a freeloader who married above his head. He did nothing and would have been left with nothing if his wife left him. Sorry, but this murder hit too close to home for my comfort.
@@jamesdolan4042 "Too close for comfort" meant the next town over - and I am a retired doctor. Everything else is well and good. Thank you for your concern.
think about how uncaring and selfish mark is. he destroyed 2 families ( esp. their children) and all of her friends, he exploited his relationship with his best friend (who isn't strong enough to say no to him), he used an obviously mentally ill man to do the actual killing, he risked his mother's life (she could have been there when the killers were there) and put the Dr. friend in a terrible situation that likely caused trauma. he's a real winner.
She barely make it to the house and then the monster attack her what kind of monster they are they take the life out of her he didn’t even take a breath and life
I've been around some bad scenes as a medic and investigator without feeling anything but during the doctors testimony seeing his face as he describes what he saw coming into the kitchen I began to feel quite sick. Then the side bar with the ruthless killer behind the woman defense attorney I could picture him marking a spot on the back of her head as a place to hit. It was very unnerving. I certainly wouldn't want my relative near him. The reason Mark called the male physician and not his mom or office staff is because he didn't want to put a woman he knew into such shock. No amount of money or reason could there be for having such a case of violence, injury or death take place.
So bizarre to me the way they do side bars with everyone including the defendant all tramping up to the judge in a huddle ..to me it seems like defense behavior tends to mimic the personality of the defendant and from the female defense I get the impression this defendant is all over the place..like a very disorganized thinker.. her questions on the parts I’ve watched so far - and I can’t seem to get the trial in order so grr - are just ridiculous! Her questions of defendant’s ex were cringy af!!
The Doctor should have called 9-11 to report a homicide for a homicide team, CSI and coroner to respond to. As a medical doctor as well as surgeon he would be able to pronounce death even without his black bag. You don't need fire rescue and medics to contaminate a potential crime scene. When lividity and rigor mortis set in its beyond hope from emergency medical help.
Don't they need to ask questions like that for the court record or something? I know it seems ridiculous and unnecessarily detailed, but isn't it required?
If the States Attorney reiterates what the witness said as a question then that is 2 times the jurors hear it and also makes clear what is said by the witness. Very intelligent and savvy State Attorney.
Really, these pointless questions..like "what does dead cold mean" WHEN A SURGON SAYS "her head was smashed in , there was an obscene amount of blood on the floor AND SHE HAS NO PULSE..why must u drag this out with Questions that have just been answered 3 minutes prior. 🙄
@24:54 Looks just like Madonna, in her 30's, with no make up' As for that poor guy having to walk into that atrocious scene. Humans! Go figure...I guess it is call Animal planet here for a reason.
Many things that seem like bullsht or obvious or waste of time to casual observers MUST be made a part of the trial record. It's part of every prosecutors job. Keep in mind those trial records are going to be around long after any living people recall what the case was about.
The other reason is to preempt many , often ridiculous, claims from the Defense attys. They only need one juror to believe them. Prosecutor must convince all 12, beyond reasonable doubt. In this case, the defense tried to claim the Dr wife somehow influenced the trial unfairly. I'm no expert , there are probably others reasons too.
I think Jimmy being known for the nickname "the hammer" definitely was down for whatever would happen. His hand was not forced in this murder! He wanted money and needed money. So how was he used??
Such a bad comment, he made a wonderful job. If think you're just too stupid to understand what he is doing, because you don't understand the meaning of the questions.
He asked some important questions but the way he asked them so unprofessionally and without feeling for the witness and the victim's family in court. It didn't need to be so carefree and painful to hear. You need a bedside manner as a doctor and lawyer which is something he and the victim were lacking in at times.
