The mall Santas and elves having a racket where they find out what toys kids want the most through their jobs, and then make cheap knock offs is legit one of the funniest things ever to me.

I watch this movie every Christmas. It’s so unhinged, I love it. And there is some genuinely good social satire throughout.

My favorite Christmas movie is called The Hogfather. The plot is basically that a man is hired to assassinate The Hogfather (Santa). But he's a magical being powered by the belief of children. So the Assassin breaks into the Toothfairy's castle to use all of the children's teeth to make them stop believing. Death, the Grim Reaper, cannot abide by this so he dresses up as The Hogfather and becomes a mall santa, while his granddaughter Susan tries to stop the Assassin. It is a live action two part movie based on a book by the late and great Terry Pratchett. I watch it every year as a personal tradition.

This is the only Christmas movie I’ve ever watched. I started watching it November 31st of this year. I just can’t stop. On repeat. Help. This is amazing.

I’m so excited for this video because as a kid I loved Jingle All The Way to the point where I had a Turboman Action Figure that even had his jet pack! Then rewatching it as an adult rewatching it I love it because I can now recognize how satirical it is and how even in 2023 the themes of the movie still hold 100% true! 🙏🏼

The inspiration for the must have toy in this movie was the “tickle me” Elmo toy that came out a year or two prior. People went absolutely insane trying to get that toy for Xmas and there was definitely limited quantities. I remember seeing the madness at stores on the news as a little kid. Luckily for my parents I had outgrown Sesame Street and didn’t ask them to enter the retail store warzones to try and snag one 😂

This was an unexpected treat! Definitely one of my favorites and annual watch since childhood. And I’m glad you’re calling out the kid. Yeahhh, he’s awful 😂

It's funny talking about "Jingle All the Way" as being an "hidden gem" or "unknown" cause, here in Brazil, for a long time, this movie was spammed on our TV channels every Christmas, so for me, it's a classic hahaha

This movie really is an existential horror about an entire city conspiring to break the will of a man who has gone out of his way to provide for his family and gets nothing but disrespect for his trouble. Also, it's amazing that so many people in this movie think they could actually mouth off to Arnold's big ass and get away with it.

I remember watching this movie a thousand times here in Mexico. There is a free channel for open tv called “channel five” and I swear to god this movie would be on it every day of December at different times, so you would catch it sooner or later. Don’t remember it being this goofy but loved the review interpretations from Hunter! Great stuff!

I watch this movie as a dad and am in pain. I can't imagine living in the hell this dad has created. Also, the idea that one moment will fix the years of neglect does not make me feel better by the end.

I remember this movie well, in fact I thought it was very hilarious. This reminds me of the cabbage Patch Kids crazy, and how my mother had to fight in line just to get one, elbowing another person in the face for trying to snatch it out of her hands, so that my sister could have one. This movie is just a perfect based on real events story for a movie. And honestly I love the idea of them trying to get a turbo man, in Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad eventually becoming the villain and the turbo man hero with a backpack, making the son want him as the costume cooler than the toy, while Sinbad is just cool as the main bad guy as the protagonist, and as the costumed bad guy of Turbo man. That in fact reminds me, I want to watch this again, it's a Christmas movie.

I wonder how a movie like Jingle All the Way would work these days. I'd love to see a movie where some overworked, super stressed parent winds up on some epic quest to track down shady resellers at their homes or something just to get the one toy their spoiled kid is demanding, only for their kid to turn around and say 'I don't want this! I suddenly value my parent!'.

This is my absolute favorite Christmas movie, probably Scrooged being second. I never understood the Greek tragedy aspect till now, but this is absolutely the Odessy and I love it. I never saw Jamie as being ungrateful because the movie isn't about getting the kid a toy he wants for Christmas, its about a completely misguided man realizing that what his kid really wanted was his dad to just make good on his promises, not just a cure all toy. I love this movie, somehow one of Arnold's best actual acting roles.

This is actually one of the best Christmas movies of all time, the sheer absurdity of the whole thing is Hall of Fame level. Watched it for the first time in like 5th grade in the school auditorium and it killed, whole school was fucking with it.

To this day, I say "Balthazar" in the same way Phil Hartman says it any chance I get. If it's a sad moment and I need to clear the air, it's always "Balthazar". If I am lamenting the loss of anything, it's always "Balthazar". One of the best lines and line deliveries ever.
