I dont know how it is in other Nations but in Germany Traditional Jiu Jiutsu is Rare sadly. Funny enough, I grew up just a 20 minute drive away from a Jiu Jiutsu Dojo without knowing it only last year, after heading back to my homeregion after 6 Years, I discoverd it randomly, while searching for a new Taekwondo Dojo. This blew my mind and dicided to switch, cause it was what i wanted in the first Place. :D
Yeah, maybe all this throwing is scaring people away? I go to my local JJ Dojo her on the west-coast of Norway and we do indeed have some problems with recruiting, just like Judo have. Kickboxing and Taekwondo on the other hand, plenty of people. I love training and sparring JJ, would never switch to either Taekwondo or BJJ. I just think that JJ is a better self-defence, especially against more than 1 attacker since JJ also have punching and kicking and defending/avoiding kicks and punches.
@@Shockernor I agree that JJ is the better defence, but in traditional TKD its not like you see it in the olympics. Were they punch someone in the head, falling to the ground and win anyway, in traditional TKD the rules are, you fall you fail you must controll you balnce perfectly. In a standard fistfight you would win with TKD, because its extrem fast and you got slightly more range. My personal reason to say JJ is better is because you learn to the defende yourself against some type of weapons as well as throws and locks, you train every scenario. Also its easier to throw someone than to K.O. someone to get a opportunnity to flee.
Well I must be really lucky, I come from Germany too (Near Bremen) and there is a jiu jiutsu dojo just 10 minutes away with the bike. However, it’s a really small club, only like 10 members and most of the time we are only 5-7 people.
Great but Lethal Martial Arts! 00:29 he defends takedown by a backward somersault, keeps rolling, and rolls right into mount! 01:49 head-down pile-driver would kill or incapacitate on the street (no wonder it's not in modern BJJ) This is what marines should learn for hand-to-hand fighting. Personally, I'll stick to safer BJJ. But kudos to you. Real deal.
