JJ is the best thing to happen to ESPN since Lebron. Here’s why ESPN knows they can’t silence his opinion: 1.) The online support of JJ and his genuine perspective on the game from experience. 2.) his intelligence level and aptitude for television coupled with his ability to portray and execute thought to common people is immaculate. 3.) Regardless of how anyone feels, it takes a special and specific ability to redirect wording, while also maintaining confidence, to compete adequately in a televised debate with S.A.S. Max has the intelligence and the ability to redirect, but the confidence was subpar.

As weird as it may sound, with Lebron and Steph's age only being 4 years apart, I feel like they inspired 2 different generations, the faces of 2 generations if you will. I was born in 1998 and the first game i ever watched was a Cavs national TV game in the early 2000s. Lebron is the reason I fell in love with the sport that night, I wanted to be like him. I was a Lebron fan for 10 years before Curry made an all-star appearance. But on the other hand people born 5,10, or even 15 years after myself have looked upon Steph as that guy maybe more so than Lebron

The way the floor is spaced, consistent deep three point shooting, “drive and kick”, and the rise of the triple-double factory type players is all more a result of Lebrons impact than Steph. I think there can be an argument that because Steph is less polarizing he may become the face for a certain generation, but the polarization of someone like Lebron comes because he is more threatening as a player to previously held standards. And he takes the social media heat of this generation and what-not that no other icons had to deal with.

For me, Lebron dominate the game of NBA but not all people can be big and strong like Lebron, that's gifted. Steph change the game but average people can be like Steph if they work hard on skills, shooting, dribble and all. First of all, their careers don't fully overlap - LeBron entered the league as a star in 2003, and Curry didn't really become one until the 2012 - 2013 season - so LeBron has transcended generations from the Kobe/Iverson/Duncan era to today's. Steph (and Kyrie to a lesser extent) may be the face of the game for younger fans - or at least the players they emulate, being more relatable in their skills and stature. You can work on handles and your range, but not many people can emulate being 6'8," 250 lbs with a 40" vertical, track speed, and preternatural playmaking ability.

LeBron has been in the Finals nearly half of my life. He has beaten almost every eastern conference team in the playoffs at some point. Curry ain’t quite LeBron, but both are icons. Same way Shaq, Duncan, and Kobe all defined the 2000s

I think Steph’s window of being the face of the league or even the generation was very short and has probably passed. If lebron was a normal guy and had retired or astronomically fell off already, this would probably be Steph’s league rn. But now you have Lebron, still being present and dominant, KD, and Giannis all vying for that spot with Steph. So I don’t think it’ll ever be definitively Steph’s league.

It really depends on whether what we are seeing with the Warriors right now constitutes a true renaissance or if it's going to be the type of flash-in-the-pan bounceback that you sometimes see from teams trying to rebuild around older players who are banged up. The fact is in the end what sells is winning, and if the Warriors come back and win a a bunch more titles of course Steph could overtake Lebron. That's how it works. The only thing silly about this take is giving Steph credit for a bunch of titles that... you know... he hasn't actually won yet. It's a meaningless hypothetical. If Steph is the architect of a reconstituted and reenergized Warriors that dominates the early 2020's the way it dominated the second half of the 2010's, it changes who Steph is in relation to Lebron and the GOAT conversation. It will be fun to discuss that if and when it ever happens.

Lebrons most memorable moments are in the playoffs (4 final MVPS) and he was the best player in a couple of final losses (2015, 2017, 2018). I can't think of too many memorable Curry playoff moments. I think it depends on how you break down the generations. I mean they're like 6 years apart aren't they? That's a lot of years in pro sports. To me, LeBron is from a generation before Steph. He's the last great player of the 2000's and is STILL incredible. Kobe was 6-7 years older than LeBron so I'd say he was a generation older. But if we're breaking it down by decade, then I still say LeBron. He was the most consistently successful player for the whole decade. Granted Steph came into the league in like 2010 (2009?) and had 7 incredible years.
