I had never heard of him before, my Dad showed me a few clips of him & so decided to take my Dad to see this concert, when this was played we both just had goosebumps & tears of musical joys in our eyes, a moment i will treasure with my Dad forever...Music is Life.
I am in awe, naturally gifted, he has played with the best. He has a heart of gold. He helps out other artists. He has played with Eric Clapton, BB KING when he was growing up. He is friends with Beth Hart. He writes, sings, plays, his music. He is most awesome.
Great music for staying in on a cold, wet day. I put a fire in the stove cooking soup. The cat is next to me on the couch and the dog's on the rug . Life is good.
I have been a lead guitar player since the mid 60's and have always played with emotion and melody and not if I could play as fast or as loud as the next guy. I only learned about Joe in the past 6 months and this man inspires me greatly. This intro and solo brings me to tears. The feeling he shows and I hear is simply beautiful. I haven't loved a blues guitarist/singer like this since Johnny Winter. Watching his videos on here has taught me some amazing style and technique. I thank the friend who told me about Joe and I thank God for giving us Mr. Joe Bonamassa.
I feel the same way, was introduced to his music 3 yrs ago,, I accidentally found out he was playing an hr from me, I tried to get someone to go but ended up going by myself. I will never forget it. Bucket list..
@ Tim Herman you have not heard anything yet if you have not heard the Live from Rockplast version. You will know it AS SOON AS YOU FIND IT it’s the one
@@gmaw23beauties37 I have heard that one also but my second favorite version is from the North Sea Jazz fest when he was a chubby kid like at Rockpalast. All are excellent.
Joe Bonamassa is one of the greatest under celebrated guitar players of all times. I can’t believe he’s not a household name because, he’s simply the best blues player on the planet today. This man refused the easy route by refusing to drop the blues for mainstream pop. What makes him great is, he doesn’t have to answer to label or investors because he owns his label therefore allowing him to play what he loves, the blues.
Absolutely love 💞 this song. Joe was the only Artist my husband listened to, the last few months of his life. We were going to go to one Joe's concerts just prior to my husband dying, and was in discussion via email how to make it possible. Alas, my husband was just to weak, and ill to make the trip. Thank you Joe for adding music to his last days. Appreciate you for it. Now I've got to get myself to see you, live and in person, and I'm doing what I can to get the best seat in the house, and bring my Steven's ashes with me. So in some small way we'll be there together.
What an incredible performance. I have been listening to blues guitarists for sixty years and Joe is one of the best, and yet so little known. Just fabulous!
This is the last song my dad listened days before he died in our little mountain village... He died about a week ago and im listening to this now and still crying a bit.. am 19 and one day i just wish to be healthy and happy again
You will be happy again you just need to take some time and you'll be up on top again we all have to go sometime so don't let that get you down. You have your whole life ahead of you and your dad will want you to live it to its fullest
100%. Just seen him live for the first time last night and can’t say I ever seen a guitarist live that plays with more emotion and intensity than this man. I had goosebumps the whole night
If you’ve never seen Joe live, I highly suggest to go see him. This man is truly a professional and an absolute pleasure to watch live. I only wish I could play as good as him. I have followed Joe for many years . and the level of his skills and talents never cease to amaze me… I love it when him and Beth Hart get together and perform. Give them hell, Joe👍😜
Joe has a unique way of luring you into his world with his guitar... at first, you think " hey this guy is good". And then you really "hear" him pour his heart into his music. That's when you "feel him play" and you know in your heart that this man is one of the best. A true bluesman
Joe is phenomenal. He IS a great blues player. But it's important to understand that this performance and many others is a melodic style performance. It focuses more on the the major scale melodies. Joe is a very broad scope player.
My favorite by Joe....cried when I watched him sing it...........My husband drives longhaul trucking. When he comes home, we run to each other. THIS is how we feel about each other, after 38 years. Thank you Joe. You understand how we feel.....can't wait to see you in concert again!!!
Mark, I was at the same show myself. It was amazing to see this man live. Only disappointment was the fact of just one encore - but as you said, this was a thing of beauty...
This is by far the best of all versions of Mountain Time he has performed, I watched so many of him playing at different theaters but he doesn’t touch this one, He put every ounce of blood and heart and soul in this performance!! He needs that Mahogany Guitar 😊❤️🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
My God....I am no spring chicken and have heard a lot of great music in my day, but this has to be one of the most incredible songs to ever hit my ears. This guy is a monster of a musician.

2 years since i downloaded this masterpiece onto my phone and it has not left top number 1 spot on my "most played" playlist. I will lie there, headphones on, turn it on full blast and just listen on repeat. It is a masterpiece, a truly incredible performance. Thank you Joe
An intelligent woman who won't compromise on the finer things in life!! A wise choice you won't ever regret, music is intensely personal. When shared it's phenomenal!! Land that JB-appreciating man!
Well if I wasn’t married ( 54 years ) and a little younger than 75 I would leave you number. But don’t feel bad for me I have lived through the best music ever made. From Elvis to this guy the guitar master.
There’s no more that can be said about Joe’s gift… As of now probably the hardest working bluesmen on earth. All the accolades are truly deserved. When Joe gets on stage with other guitarists and different bands he’s able to display his talents and generosity which usually leads to mind blowing performances. I’m a proud listener and lover of the blues since a young boy when I was introduced to music and talents like BB King, Jimi, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins and Eric Clapton to start and when I was introduced to Led Zeppelin and their first album and heard a superbly produced blues album with songs like I Can’t Quit You Babe and You Shook Me I was off to the stereo. Growing older it was important to have the proper equipment to enjoy and explore my love of music, playing music on my first generation Yamaha / Mitsubishi stereo I was always interested in and exploring the blues rock of the time. I saw a clip on the evening news living in Connecticut and it was a 9 year old Joey Bones winner of a blues guitar competition in NJ… I was blown away. Stevie Rays career was starting out and I was lucky enough to see him in New Haven a bit later on opening for Robert Plant on his first solo tour after Bonham’s death and the bar was set on that night for me. Meanwhile Joes career was off and he was playing a number of shows in the Tri-State area and I made it to see him at a bar / concert hall in New Haven called Toads Place and that night I was treated to the same mind blowing experience as when I saw Stevie Ray… I followed Joe from that point and turned on friends to his talents and always felt like I discovered him and introduced Joe’s music into my circle. I’ve met Joe twice before shows in Worcester, MA at the Palladium and a concert in Hartford… got pictures, autographs and a shout out “to my new friend Brett” he asked for a wave.. I feel like all the guys I grew up listening to were already legends and now here comes “my guy”… Joe has exceeded all expectations in the industry to become a top 10 all-timer in my book. That’s saying a lot… because the other 9 guys on my list are the same guys that introduced and influenced Joe to become what he is today. Joe’s coming to Massachusetts later this year and I’m hoping to be well enough to go see him and introduce him to the younger generation in my family in an effort to spread the word that Joe is definitely one of the world’s greatest players and amazingly enough he just keeps getting better…❤
Brett, that was a wonderful comment. Enjoyed your reminiscences! I definitely remember when I first heard Joe and his band. It wasn’t nearly as exciting as your story, because it was simply here on RU-vid a few years back, "Bird on a Wire" at the Beacon Theatre. But it made a huge difference in my life. I absolutely loved it. And I still do. I’ve seen Joe, with Reese and the others, live in concert once. I’m not schooled in blues or rock or even pop music, but I just pick out what I like….and I like Joe!❤
You're a very blessed man with a true appreciation for wonderful talent, thank you for your comment and appreciation for genuine talent. It's getting harder to find nowadays. Peace to you.
Aug 2023. Im 68 now just an ol hippie. My favorite rock band LED ZEPPELIN. Got to see BB King 7 or 9 times but i REMEBER Joe as the young boy he brought on stage. Later years in conversation with a few of his bandmembers at a party they told me all about Joe what he was doin now how he would be big. I finally got to see him live but didnt know it was him until my friend said hey its Joe! My lord the talent. I didnt get to stay for full concert my friend had an emergency so we had to leave but man what those 3 songs we heard mindblowing. They dont make em like that. I also got to see Stevie Ray Vaugn in Austins dive bar called the Roma Room. Literally ONE dangling lightbulb on a black cord hung over the ahem-dance floor. Many talented artists came out of that little hole lol. Stevie came to the afterparty and played there too-winter by the fireplace. That man didnt stop for three hours! After 2 gigs that nite. He never once took a break. Our host was pissed when back room turned on current dance music blasted it which ended Stevie playing. Host kicked errbody out cept us core group who had stayed not moving for the 3 hours-then all of us ran to the bathrooms lol. Never forget that never. 🙏🏻❤️🧐
As a guitar player myself, I can tell that Joe is a great communicator. He is as good as communicating with his mouth as with his guitar. The notes and melodies he plays are beautiful proses and verses of poetry and sounds mixed all together. I am not anywhere near him, but I know what a well distorted, softly played note means and aims to deliver. Well done Joe!
Thanks for your comment and supports, your comments and constant support has brought me this far. Keep Supporting❤️ Please send me a mail via joebonamassarecords@gmail.com
I just discovered Joe a few weeks ago and so glad I did, can’t stop listening to his music particularly this song. I bought a used SUV a few weeks back and the previous owner forgot one of Joes CDs in the CD player. Can’t understand how I’ve never heard his music. So talented and gifted!
Blair Sveinson has to work with the new year to day week week so much more work for you guys too but we will get together with our family for dinner tomorrow evening for the next two hours so I'll probably get a couple minutes to do it and get some sleep tonight I have some fun stuff I can come up for a little later if you're going I will let me get back in and talk about the rest my mind to you guys so much for
I cannot believe Joe got past my music radar, so to speak. Just found him in the last week or so. Unbelievable Talent that plays with other unbelievable musicians. My only excuse is…I’ve been busy growing old & being disabled. Sure glad I found him before it’s too late.✌🏼😎😎
We drove through an epic rain and hail storm to get to Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO last night. Then a 2 hour lightning and rain delay. Joe gave a special thanks to all of us who hung in there, and then proceeded to make the evening a memorable one with his new album, Time Clocks. But what made it special for me was that he wrapped up the evening with this song. Always brings tears to my eyes, but WTF! We were all soaked down to our underware anyway. You rock, Joe! Thanks for the memory!
@Dan Kolcun ☆ You said it first Brother, and you couldn't be so on mark. I hope to hear more comments and replies from you, within the near future. Till then Mate keep climbing the ladder of life. Peace and Blessing to you always. Take Care and Be Well Always My Friend: 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ®️.
I've been a huge Joe fan for twenty years, I've yet to hear a song I don't like. Listen to anything Joe and Beth Hart, the two of them make beautiful music together.
Everytime, from the first time all those years ago onwards to the present day, lump in the throat, hairs on the back of my neck, and I'm not ashamed to say, a tear in my eye. Sheer perfection. Chapeau JB, you joygiver, the very best that humans can do for each other....
Mr. Bonamassa is in my eyes and ears THE premier guitar player among us at this time!! The utmost feeling, tone and emotion that can be created between a person and a musical instruments is put out in this performance!! I salute you Joe Bonamassa!! You please my heart and soul immensely!😎👍💙
Thanks......I've spent many years in music and Mr Banamassa IS TRUELY an amazing talent...everything he does is beautiful and from the heart and soul........this is real music......
I just love, that in my lifetime, I have witnessed the very best. Hendrix, Clapton, Vai, SRV..Albert Lee..Stills. BB. Healy....Duane. And this man, makes my heart so so happy...and want to turn it up. As he channels the spirit that IS music...no thanks are big enough to say what we feel. This song. Beautiful. Grateful to the universe for his dedication to talent, and his ability to make guitars sound like angels. What a fine gift.
I'm so glad you mentioned Healy his passing was an incomparable loss. Gary Moore as well. I too am thankfully for living the last 68 years and being swept away by these giant talents.
I saw Joe Last year at Hardrock Hollywood Florida.......Best show of my life. Incredible blues guitar!!! My cousin was awestruck and had never heard of him. So was I.
I've only played this about 5,000 times, One of the greatest performers ever, He is the greatest guitarist ever, And I have a list of 20 My ex wife in the icon symbol, She can't stand him,, Let me repeat, ex wife, lol,
This is the one that did if for me. I heard it on the radio and had to have it all. I've watched the DVD countless times and it never ceases to amaze me. You are a true gift to the world Mr. Bonamassa!
I got to see Joe a few years ago. A friend said that he was a great guitarist and that's we should go to the concert. I never heard Joe before the concert. I was blown away at the concert. Best guitar playing I ever heard live. He played Woke Up Dreaming as the last song. Never heard any acoustic guitar played like that - awesome. Big fan - need to see him again. Soon I hope.
The intro is called "D'Jango" and together this track is called D'Jango/Mountain Time, and it still stands as the greatest "lead in" to the best song ever shred! JB your sound sooths my very soul. God, Country, Family and Joe Bonamassa shredding steel... I am completed.
@@paulharrison2557 sorry Paul, "that" guy here... You're both wrong. Django opens into John Henry,he ends with got paid then encores with mountain time. That's why you see him walking out thru the equipment when he starts.
..one day you ll find out there are many other musicians and you re gonna have some trouble defining who is yours ALL !!! time favorite one. I drink to that.
NO MONEY, NOTHING... HIS WHOLE HOME,AND EVERY THING IT WAS EVERY THING OR NOTHING!!! BUT IT WAS GREAT!! HAPPYNES!! JOE AND NOW YOU ARE THE BEST GITAR PLAYER OF THE WORLD!!!!❤
Beautiful, beautiful song. First love? The way he puts his heart into his a one's. I wonder does Joe compose these songs? I'm sorry, I guess it's the first time for me, everyone is so excited about jb, same as I am! I just started to listen to him! I graduated in 75. I never heard of him.
The secret to a great song is putting together the chord combos, notes, and frequencies on the fretboard that resonate with the heart. When your music raises goosebumps on your arms and body. The heart makes your eyes water, then you have written a hit single that will outlive you.. The intro of this song does it by itself.. awesome job Joe!! 🎸🎸💯🎯
I was in the joint for 31 years. Played blues through it all on some really bluesed out guitars. But it got me through my bit. When I first heard jb I knew I was hearing someone whose creds were an inspiration. He, and his bands, and the beat to hell axes we played saved this old soul through the dark times. Gods bless all who play the blues ... especially like this.
Lynda I’ve been thinking that exactly, how did I not listen? I even heard about him a long time ago! lol Lots of glorious binge watching of this exceptional talent!👌🏽
Never understood how a crowd could site there throughout that with Joe playing with such passion and emotion only to get up at the end. I’m dancing in my truck now I could only imagine if I was in the building live to witness greatness.
@@vicegrippin3497 i definitely understand your comment considering his ticket prices are very expensive, classy upscale venues he’s known to play in. Super respectful conservative crowd.
I absolutely love this live version. The guitar solos, singing & grand finale. I know he usually wares glasses due to light sensitivity, watching this has afforded us the opportunity to see into his eyes, very special ❤ Ps. I've watched this too many times to remember at full volume 😊
this rendition is so spiritual and that tone..! Listen with your eyes closed and be lifted to another place. Musical brilliance, pure and simple. Play it loud.!
Sounds just as good today in 2021 as it did in 2009 when this was recorded. And it will sound just as good in a thousand years because this is timeless music. 😎
I wonder if people who love art go to museums and wish that they were a particular artist. Like every time I hear a guitar as sweet as Joe I wish that it was me. Making yall smile.
Makes me cry every time I watch this. WOW He really plays/sings from the Heart and it comes through. Joe inspires me so much, I'm finally getting a Les Paul...after 39 yrs of playing.
Like others have noted this is the song that did it for me. Instant Joe die hard fan. My wife and I went to Reno in late November and he was PHENOMENAL!!! He played Mountain Time as the encore and I thought I was going to tear up I was so happy. Beautiful song and music. So happy I discovered Joe Bonamassa. A true musical talent and seems like a great person in his appreciation of his band and fans. If you have the opportunity to see him live this is exactly what he sounds like!!!!!!!
