Joe Gomez is Underrated ? I don't think so. 

Gomez is actually very good, and people seem to think he is very good, so he isn't underrated. He is rated properly.

He could play the inverted FB (John Stone's role). Or just a traditional DM role. Good defensive pacey tracking down/covering, comfortable enough on the ball, distributes well - the positional sense can be trained. If he can become a Tchouameni, we would save 100 mil out of a fringe player.

Gomez like any footballer plays well at times and sucks at times.

He is a very skillful player, he needs to work on his work rates, he seems lazy at times.
