That bootleg Louie act, apparently a work in progress??? Any way, it was about a million times funnier than 99% of the shit out there from other comics.
Breh. He is in the comedy clubs just fucking *murdering.* It's like if Metallica took their arena-size equipment to some shitty bar and just blew the doors off the place. All the while waving a middle finger at the people who try to tell him he shouldn't perform anymore. You're the fucking man, Louie.
Only4comments that was a legendary routine. Thanks for the reminder. Made me smile. Actually, I think I’m going to watch that now and come back to this later.
"You really have a choice. We can have horses and candles and be a little nicer to each other, or you can make someone suffer immeasurably thousands if miles away just so you can leave a mean youtube comment while your taking a shit."
I remember when "no means no" and "yes means yes". Like, Louis literally asked two consenting adults if a sexual act could be done and if they were okay with that. They said yes, now we take issue with this? Do we have to consider each other, not as humans, but our place in society, and if we have more power than the other person, so "yes" might actually mean "no, but I'm too afraid to say that because of your position of power". With that thought process, should everyone stay in their own class when thinking about relationships? Is Cinderella a fucked up story because her consent wasn't actually consent, because the Prince should've understood the power he had as the prince of a kingdom, and she felt like she couldn't say "no" to the Prince?
WhatAHero there were more victims than that and he did not wait for an answer to his question. It’s not the same as Bill Cosby? No, but it’s perverted, none the less. Louis CK is a sexual predator.
@@GodBody-BodyofGod Did not wait for an answer? He got explicit permission from those women. There was a woman who even said no and he respectfully backed off. You clearly have not read anything about this
@@GodBody-BodyofGod sexual predators don't ask permission. These women tried to cash in with this stupid #metoo movement. He asked, they consented, end of fucking story
... and now Joe Biden gets accused of sexual assault months later... publicized by the same journalist that broke the Kavanaugh story... And you've got crickets from these people. The MeToo movement is a sham. I actually did support it to a degree, but not since it's revealed itself as a just a political weapon
He does one-off shows here and there. Saw him about a month ago in florida. It was pretty darn good, but I can kind of see him being a bit restrained. Still hilarious though
Kevin heart is the most whitewashed brainwashed Illuminati controlled robotic idiot that thi ks hes on top of the world but dosnt realize hes not human anymore hes a living meme
SJW: omg that comedian said something outrageous and offensive! Sane human: yeah, that's what comedians do. For like thousands of years. It's literally their job.
@@The-Dom Are you the arbiter of that? I am not offended what a comedian says about some dead kids, but I am not such a self-righteous dick that I think I can make that determination for everyone else.
Everyone stop saying, why hasnt joe got louis yet. Its not joes decision if louis wants to do it im sure he would be on the next day but its louis's choice not joe's....and we all know joe is not the type of guy to pressure people like that.
That's a fantastic example: a mother who drowns her own kids is about the most horrifically un-funny thing I can possibly imagine... and yet that joke was hilarious, even second hand. You guys nailed it: both things can exist simultaneously.
Criticizing comedy out of context is like reading song lyrics without the music- you'll never know the rhythm, understand the context, or feel the soul of the material. I'm excited to see Louie's finished work.
Humans love to flirt with their destruction. Fuck them, they were warned and they are bending over anyway. They wouldn't ever be if they truly listened to any of the comics that made them laugh in the first place.
COVID-19 will only END when L. CK RETURNS! The world needs him; especially Now. UH HELLO: It's September 2022 - Happy 55th Birthday Louis It's no coincidence Louis CK is back and Covid-19 is history!!
Met Louis CK long before he became famous. He used to hang out on the USENET newsgroup alt.comedy.stand-up and would usually give out the most sage advice of any of the road comics who hung out there. I remember totally bagging on him for Pootie Tang and when it flopped, I sorta won the debate between us about it flopping... and yet he was actually doing something. He was writing for Conan at the time, and made it big eventually. He was never a creepy guy or someone who was nasty online... just the opposite. We met in person about 15 years ago at the Addison Improv and he was incredibly cool.
I saw Louie on tour with Bill Burr, Sarah Silverman, Hannibal Burress, and a few others. Louis made them ALL look like amateurs, and I’m pretty sure he was only doing a workout set. He’s an apex comedian.
I think he's more saying that it doesn't work nearly as well as it probably could if he had more time to polish it, instead of having his initial draft uploaded to the internet and analyzed
I'd like it so that eventually he could see it, but I think you're just being pretentious. They have their own styles, and congratulations your humor fits Louis CK's style better, don't jerk off Infront of people think, okay?
Joe it's time to bring Louie, he dropped his special, he addressed the matter, now it's time to get more of Louie and ur show is the most non-explicit platform he can get, get him on the showwwwww!!! (please)
Louis is the only one of the many accused who came out and said the stories were true. That is why he’ll come back. He didn’t lie or try to make the women around him out to be crazy. His comeback doesn’t need our approval because he took the right action. It doesn’t matter if we like it. In taking the right action and telling the truth he created the opportunity for himself to overcome the guilt and shame. You know who didn’t face the truth about the fucked up things he participated in (for a fucked up woman?) Anthony Bourdain, who I loved. Louis actually did right by all of us.
Nail on the head. When is enough enough?? Louis is one of the best comedians of all time, he's lost dozens of millions of dollars and completely went off the radar for over a year. Let the man get back to making our lives better
The thing I appreciated about Louis CK is that he didn't deny deny deny allegations like many people did. He collaborated the stories of the women. Then he said he thought he obtained consent and then realized later that the power dynamic was an issue. What he did definitely wasn't okay but the fact that he actually can learn and improve let's me think we can forgive him as a society.
The last allegation was in 2003. That was before Louis hit it big. At that time he was a semi obscure and only moderately successful comedian. There was no "power dynamic" in the sense he was a big time famous comedian using his star power and money to get away with bad behavior. That mischaracterization is one of the ways he is being made out to be worse than he really is. What he did wasn't good, but he never touched or assaulted anyone, it was creepy and inappropriate but not evil. It was forgivable and his career shouldn't have been destroyed over it, he apologized and was publicly humiliated, that should have been enough but the Woke mob wouldn't accept it.
@@jeremiahjohnson1513 what he did was something that was verbally communicated as consentual. BECAUSE they said YES! if we as human beings can not be responsible for our own words, then we will never be anything more tan over grown children who do ot DESERVE the ability to make their own decisions! PERIOD!
I’ve had a treat last week to be at first roll right in front of the GREAT Louis CK. He’s in Europe doing small rooms for 200 people, celphones locked inside Yondr bags. Tony Woods and Joe Machi opening. It’s already a perfectly executed 50 minutes set. Loved the jokes, laughed my teeths off and I can’t wait for the special to come out and watch again. That’s a man who deserves his carreer back, instead of those oportunists that are playing the “i’m offended” card.
There was a British comedian who made a joke about the Afghan war saying that at least Britain would do great in the next Paralympics. Americans would lose their minds about that about American servicemen. They put it on the news and he had to apologise and so forth. But then when the next Paralympics happened Britain did do well because of the young fit ex-servicemen who had their legs blown off etc. So the joke was actually a pretty good comment on the futility of war.
I just LOVE how you always talk and mention Louis Ck, -even when he's not relevant these days or mentioning him for views as a hot topic - It's just the way you are defending him or more like showing people his side of the story.. And it's not about discussing what happened or your opinion or anyone's opinion.. My comment is about always having his back.. Responding, arguing, discussing it cuz you know people will believe what's shown to them if they don't any better - am not saying you are trying to change or twist it.. My point here is about a friend supporting his friend when everyone afraid to openly discuss it for different reasons.. You are a great guy and such an amazing supporting friend..I wish I had a friend like you..
A little sad that Joe doesn't recognize it's actually a really good joke and Louis has it pretty tight already. Joe keeps saying it was "half baked" "not ready" etc. Joe, it's better than 90% of your set.
Love this conversation and your content sir! Please consider the clip title. I thought you would compare CK to Cosby, but in the clip you mention Cosby for a very brief moment and that’s it. So the title is a bit misleading.
My god. He asked. If we Assume they said "yes", then they should be held responsible for their responses to Louie's request. If they couldn't verbally say "no" to something like that and couldn't express his behavior as highly inappropriate, then thats a serious problem. Were they just in shock? I think by not saying "no", they were affirming a "yes". By not assertively saying "no" they were enabling him and are then mutually at fault. Whether it be fear of losing their job, or just being in a temporary shock, adults should know how to verbally reject a request like that. That's something people learn as a children.
"You do all these good things that help the whole town and nobody remembers that...but you fuck ONE goat...!" - Norm MacDonald paraphrase sums up perception of Louis C.K.
I was at that show. They changed what he meant about the joke. I was disgusted by the news because they flipped the whole point of the joke. I think that’s when, smart people are funny makes sense. It went over someone’s head or someone lied about people being disappointed. We all had given him a standing ovation. For the record, I’m a woman. The media enjoyed taking his joke out of context. I didn’t see anyone unhappy at the show. Our phones were locked. It was bait to attack louis. ROGAN is right 100% If you read and edit the joke on print it doesn’t come out like we heard it and the philosophy he meant behind it. Only true funny OPEN MINDED - SMART- LOGICAL people understand what he meant. Comedy is taking the darkness away. I had the best time there. The room was cheering immensely. *The allegations were from the 1990s from three women that went into his room for attention and that I honestly think exaggerated what he did long ago. Women endure far more assaults than something like louis touching himself. Some people are misguided and sensitive and don’t get to hear his side of the story.
Its just funny to me how wen this whole Louis thing first dropped i remember vividly watching the podcast & hearing Joe be completely on the other side & almost shunning Louis & acting like he was some disciple of Satan raping & forcing people to watch him beat off but now he's acting like he's been championing him the whole time & that he's for comedians... Bullshit!
Jim Carrey is a LEGITIMATELY fucked-up person ,who managed to harness his insanity to go create a career. After listening to dude.......yeah.......don't think he's faking.😵
People 30 and under have become the largest group of victimized people in US history. Although they have grown up in the most peaceful and prosperous time the world has ever seen, they apparently have had such a hard go of it.
I dont know about "in history", the black community has a pretty clear advantage in that competition, non-straight people are a pretty close second. Like I dont care what you think about the situation today, the history is clear
i think the title of the video even SUGGESTING that there could be a comparison made to cosby does louis no favors. nor do I think anyone made this comparison. now a clip with 1M views has people thinking/comparing louis to cosby. not good
0:26 this point doesn't get emphasized enough. He's on stage doing a performance!! They're not things he truly believes in his heart. Do you honestly believe that you if you catch Louis after he gets off the stage, and ask him, "hey do you think those kids should not be speaking out and protesting?" and he'll say "No I would like them to stop"? Of course not. He'll say, no I'm just making things up and *go into a character* that I think will make people laugh. He's doing a performance. He's in a character. It's an act! Just as much of an act as an actor portraying a role in a movie.
I´m real torn on this topic. on the one side i see where you go with your approach not to publish unfinished bits, but on the other side i love seeing stuff from comedians, that i like.
He didn't do anything wrong! This is just hurting women cause, it's making the me-too movement look like it's just out looking for blood regardless of guilt!
I've always appreciated the George Carlin approach to comedy. You rarely, if ever, heard Carlin repeat a joke. He would spend a few months writing his jokes, do a stand up special, and then throw the material in the garbage. He wouldn't write a bit and use it month after month, even though during his time was the ideal time to do it, because there was no internet or cell phones recording everything.
saw him trying his new set in Warsaw just 3 weeks ago, it was great! Why no one talks about his European tour? He did shows in Poland, Italy, Greece, Hungary and plenty other places. You can find hardly any info about it. In Poland he did 3 shows - all sell out immediately.
Fuck cancel culture, unless needed. Not in this case! Bring back Louis CK. Joe Rogan deserves respect for standing up for him when others want to cancel him for life! Rogan is the shit for saying fuuuuuuuck the bs haters
I just noticed that Horace & Pete is on Hulu. Idk if Louie is aware of this or maybe it's a new addition. Thought it was only available on his website.
