"I do not remember much of the 70s but it was easer to be 20 in the 70s then it is to be 70 in the 20s". Quote from Joe Walsh. I feel the same way at 69 this year.
While he aint wrong, Charles is a good example of some kid acting like he knows anything at all. (that was sarcasm btw, cuz at 82, he's not a kid. Feel I have to explain that these days, cuz there ARE kids watching this, and no doubt there's gonna be that ONE that says I bullied an old man.)
Dude, if you are in Canada or several US states, you can purchase and “carry in” all manner of drugs that are legal and much stronger than way back then.
Well, see .... I grew up in the 70s, and I thought I knew the song word for word, but it seems I was wrong.... I always thought it was, "I have a limo, ride in the back, I lock the doors in case I'm attacked," but I just now found out that it's, "I have a limo, ride in the trunk, I lock the doors in case I get drunk."
Joe's level of inebriation is so high during this performance that most people wouldn't even be able to stand upright... let alone pull of a performance of this magnitude. The dude's from another planet.
@@LoveABun The documentary The History of the Eagles made this period of time for him obvious, he was in bad shape and probably would have died if the Eagles hadn't got back together and put him into rehab. There is enough footage to make this concert a certainty that he was probably three sheets to the wind. But....he was functional as many of us were after years of rocking in the free world. Chances are it was probably cocaine as getting too drunk just causes too much physical challenges, maybe high on Cocaine and a bit drunk...../me shivers to think about people that combine their demons. Just how many died in the bathtub moments do we have to be a part of? Personally I appreciate you having Joe's back on this. Some things are better left buried and he is sober now.
Harvey Mandel is still with us but is having health issues. A very young Eddie Van Halen went and saw him in the late 60s and his jaw dropped. That's where Eddie learned his tricks
I don’t think people truly know how much of a genius he is. He has this fun goofy playful persona that can mislead the casual fan how good of singer - player - entertainer he is. Killer.
I've heard his songs the 44 years I've been on this Earth but it wasn't til YT started recently putting him in my "recommendations" that I realized how right you are. Killer indeed!
So right! I've loved him since I first heard Rocky Mountain Way. Killer, indeed! Les Paul was a fan of Joe's, too. 🎸 I last saw him open- great as ever- for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on Tom's last tour... 💔 ✌
This was the first album (8-track) I ever bought with money I earned sacking groceries at the local grocery store. It's just as good now as it was back then! Joe Walsh is and will always be a top-shelf performer in my world. Thanks JOE you totally rock!
I can only imagine how mesmerized the crowd was during this performance at this venue at that time. Such a fun song. Satire and reality lyrics combined with funky ass rock.
I saw Joe Walsh play at the Light Up the Blues concert a few months ago. When he played this song I was completely hypnotized - no joke! I remember snapping into the zone once he started playing the opening riff. It was perfect.
My dad raised me on this musical genre- as being a kid born in the 70s early 70s. My dad was so into this kind of music. We were introduced to at a young age to bands such as Pink Floyd rush, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, steely Dan, the doors. I still have some of his 8 tracks to this day. he was so open to new kinds of music - music that I really loved too the alternative scene, grunge, dark wave, new wave. He was willing to listen to it and learn from it and really supportive of my musical interests as well. He passed away a few years ago and these songs remind me of him so much . Miss you dad and I love you!
I found Lifes been Good quite overplayed on the radio throughout the years ..but also found myself watching this entire performance. Just cant deny the song's catchiness and crafty guitar playing of mr. Walsh.
Waaay overrated, played with some bird band also, the dodos or something like that. Maybe the falcons, or frigates, anyway, hes from a time when musicians were addicts
Summer before freshman year of hs my best bud showed me this song and lots of music like this. I lost him to alcoholism but til this day i think of the summer nights drinking beer and jamming with him whenever i play this song.
I’ve never seen Joe live, but from watching these old clips it seems like he made each and every performance a unique experience. Didn’t just go through the motions. Such a legend.
Where did the time go to... I remember like yesterday listening to the James Gang and like many other fledgling guitar players, trying to emulate Joe Walsh and garage bands, music careers and now 73... where has it gone?
My first concert was JOe WaLsh at the Beacon Theater in New York in the mid 80's. I was maybe fifteen. My friends older brother brought us there. We were a few rows back center. I am lucky to have had the experience.
Yeah Joe Walsh is one of the greatest rock guitarists ever and it's no fluke that he's had a pretty good solo career with some very good songs in the last few years 😊😅😮😂❤😊
I was lucky enough to catch the If I Were President concert at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley on July 4th 1990. before the Eagles reunited. Looked like hell. Incredible performance.
The same power anybody feels after being able to do anything really well. Pick something to get good at, then get good at it, and never do it for free.
Even those of us who have played guitar for years have no idea. His skill is the tip of the iceberg. The quality/power/wattage/volume of the guitar and amps, all in front of thousands of people singing/dancing along to your song, is something few people in the world have experienced. Knowing Joe, he was zooted out of his gourd on top of it. I bet it's a wonderful feeling!
Always like Joe Walsh he has a good sound to his voice I was born in 1963 life has been good to me so far I would like to get in a Maserati that does 185 I think I'll put that on my bucket list great song I'm going back to the music now
My high school football coach cranked this up in the locker room as we were getting dressed for each game. We had a lot of fun and had only one loss that year. We should have gone undefeated.
Joe's doing his thing better then most others of course, lifes been good to me so far. Man's been Top Shelf since the Jame Gang... That's a Big Guitar Talent ...
Joe Vitale on drums? I think? The liberty with the lyrics is hilarious. That's Joe! He has the last laugh it seems when a tossed off song like this becomes a huge ht.
