The Al Hortford situation was completely different than PG. Al Hortford didn't work out in Philly because of Ben freakin' Simmons. Remember, Al likes to operate in the post. Ben Simmons refused to shot or even space out the floor for his teammates and that's why the fit in Philly was horrible. You can't have Embiid, Hortford, and Ben Simmons all in the paint together lol.... Ben Simmons was a detriment to his teammates in the half court. Hartford can play out the outside but his damage is done near or in the paint. PG is going to space the floor and shoot every time with no hesitation. He's going to get more wide looks in Philly than he ever did in his career.

Harden leaving allowed Maxey to evolve to the player he is today, which is the biggest upgrade. That and Harden wanted a max contract that he no team was willing to pay him. Even the Clippers only offered him a 2 year 70 million extension. Lastly, Sixers badly needed a wing who can shoot and play D, which is not Harden.

PG is good at playing off ball which lets maxey flourish, not the case for harden
