Went on a night out few years back. Mom urged me to not stay out overnight, atleast not late. On taxi back all I could think was: just go home, just go home. So I did. Woke up to mom not being able to breathe and losing conciousness. Neighbour drove us to hospital. Had to carry her myself from entrance to ER. In the end her blood sugar dropped too low from alchohol withdrawal and we made it. "Just a moment longer and it would've been too late" Some luck for us to come at right moment, maybe not so much luck.

Others have said it, but it was an overdose. The 'purple arm' he talked about was likely from the tourniquet tied to the upper arm to raise the veins when using.

You make friends, you kinda TAME the things that might otherwise do you in, and suddenly you're able to extract some measure of good from EVERYTHING in life, not just the sweet parts.
