Joey Heatherton was born on September 14, 1944, celebrated her 76th birthday on Monday September 14, 2020. She is an American actress, dancer, and singer. A sex symbol of the 1960s and 1970s, she is best known for her many television appearances during that time, particularly as a frequent variety show performer, although she also appeared in acting roles. She performed for over a decade on USO tours presented by Bob Hope, and starred in several feature films including (1965) and (1977).
Joey Heatherton was 5 years older than I was and as a teen I was amoung the 10's of thousands or more had a major crush on her. Thanks for bringing back the memory.
I fell for Joey Heatherton watching her on TV at the age of 6. I was unfaithful to her on the nights I stared at Julie Newmar or Yvonne Craig on "Batman," but otherwise I was devoted to her! Haha! :-)
I came here after watching an episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show where Lou Grant mentioned having a crush on her. I had almost forgotten about her. But I was born around the time she was a star, so by the time I was old enough to know anything, she wasn't around as much. Farrah Fawcett was the hot female star from my post-toddler days.
Farrah with her signature hair and teeth was beautiful. Farrah with a 1966 Mia Farrow short, SHORT hair cut wouldn't look nearly as sexy. But Joey did, with her hair often worn super short. In the sex appeal category, Joey surpasses Farrah; 'shoots it outta the park.'
This was not typical for 1969. Movies were just starting with pushing the “less clothes and let’s dance” young girl thing with Ann-Margaret’s pouty lip close-ups. I don’t know how Dean Martin got away with this on TV. I don’t remember seeing this but I’m sure my husband remembers it well! Joey Heatherton’s dad was Ray Heatherton and he had a popular TV show in the NYC area at that time. They lived on Long Island.
Damn😁.....I remember being 8yrs. old and having such a crush on her and not liking it when she cut her hair....what does an 8yr. old. know. She started out being one of the "Goldiggers" but immediately broke out among the rest. I remember the Dean Martin show and watching it with mom and dad, there was ABC, CBS and NBC and that was pretty much it unless you had UHF reception but, the quality of programing back then more than made up for all the crap news and shows nowadays and such a better time and values spent with family back then .....Joey Heatherton had quite the kick no doubt....she could kick her leg over her head effortlessly...oh yeah I have to add, not when tattoo either...hot hot hot!
I have read many of the comments. I was born in 1952. I get most of the sexual content here and most of the inappropriateness of it. I repeat....I was born in1952. I am male and Joey tickled my maleness. She was meant to and it worked. As to all the things about her career and us and her......Well,it worked. I LIKED her. Forgive me for being male and aroused. I do. So....where are we now?
Rather sad how woke you've become. Tsk tsk. And it's also sad that the thumbs-down icon has been censored (neutered) due to political correctness and the fear that somebody might have their feelings hurt. As though that's a horrible crime. We can only hope that this downward trend will be reversed and people can be honest again.
It's logical to think that Ralph Nader siphoned more votes away from Al Gore in Florida than he did from George W. Bush. Nader never had a chance to win the 2000 election; it was strictly for this tool's vanity and ego. I never liked Gore, but anyone who helped Bush win is on my tihs (spelled backwards) list. At least Gore would have read his daily briefings. At least Gore had no plans to invade Iraq to impress mommy and daddy.
Do You Have The Entire Unedited Dean Martin Show From October 16th, 1969? Which Dean Martin Show Volume On DVD Has This Unedited Show From October 16th, 1969?
This probably didn't come from a DVD... Traders and people who worked for NBC or production houses in those days would hoard duplicates - and 'share' them.
John D. >That was S.P. for the late 60s. Every guy was thinking it, so why not say it. I remember seeing this when I was 11 years old...thanks Dad for buying that 25" color TV!!
Yes, this was broadcast at a time when men and women very much appreciated (and celebrated) their differences. It's easy to label Dean "inappropriate", but I don't see a moment where Heatherton sees herself as some helpless victim. She clearly is aware of her own empowerment, and she revels in it. If anything, Dino is the one who seems overpowered.
Definitely not lip synching. The audio is just a touch out of sync with the video. If you watch the beginning with Dean's introduction, you'll notice it there as well.
I think she did for her rehearsed dance number, but it looks like the duet with Dean was live. I remember her from when I was a kid, but I didn't realize what a great singer she was! Very impressive. Surprised she didn't go further. According to a biography I saw, it looks like she needed to be better managed. Her talent was wasted. Also, drugs and doomed relationships didn't help...
