It's still astounding that today somewhat less known albeit not less talented composers remain fairly unnoticed by mainstream - despite their availability on the internet and channels like this one. I'd like to express a big Thank You! to Bartje, Pau, the Harpsichordist and many more! - Bringing beauty to everyone who demands ;-)

After having heard concertos and symphonies by this Friedrich Bach, I am not entirely convinced he s inferior to his much more famous brother Friedemann and Johan Christian. I have loved everything if Friedrich's I have heard.

This has been one of my favourite 18thC compositions since I first heard it on the radio in the early 1990s. I've never ever been able to find a CD copy to buy or a version to download. It's nice to hear it again and with such a good recording too!

Gostei desse diferencial.

Yes this Viola and Piano Double Concerto by J.C.F. Bach is available to download at IMSLP, but you need to accept Winzip to open it. As a violist and conductor I am also excited to discover this rare Classical concerto for viola and piano. I do not know of any other concerto like it. This piece reminds me of Mozart's Kegelstatt Trio for Viola, Clarinet and Piano. J.C.F. Bach composed numerous trios. He also composed 28 symphonies, 14 keyboard concertos, 43 keyboard sonatas, numerous chamber music pieces, operas and eight oratorios. All of this was accomplished in the small principality of Buckeburg in Saxony. I am wondering if this piece should be categorized as a Symphonia Concertante for Viola, Piano and Orchestra? There are some extensive orchestra parts in this work along with the wonderful solo episodes.

Is the piano in soprano clef it’s hard for me to tell with it being handwritten? I know baroque composers and early classical composers used the movable cleff on grand staff very often to avoid too many ledger lines in the lower register. For example Bach used alto cleff in the right hand sometimes and even Mozart used tenor cleff in the left hand
