walk with crazy d around this John Deere Mt let's go over its many problems and decide if this tractor should be scrapped or a parts tractor even possibly a restoration project crazy-d-equipment.creator-spr...
❤️Crazy D and crew... Once it’s scrapped it’s gone forever. Before you get down that road maybe if you’ve got time or an employee has time to call around to College’s or local Artist or Photographers that may like to buy it as a good subject to photograph or even a sculpture that may want to weld it into an amazing piece of yard art or something creative as apposed to just killing it. A photographer would not need new tires or to change anything but the setting maybe. It could be I’m just nuts and the only option is scrap but put it on FB market place for buyers across the country not just your local area. Great work fellas.
For 175$, I'd part it out, sheet metal 100$, front rims ,25$, oil pan, 20$, generator and other small pieces 50$ , manifold 50$ then scrap the rest. You can double your money with a little bit of elbow grease
I learned to operate on a MT and a Allice Chamblers. At 11, Dad put me on the MT, since I had gotten used to the one row. Got to the end of the row , with a two bottom middle buster. Hit the fresh turned row and tried to hold the steering wheel. Broke my thumb and threw me off of the tractor. Dad run it down.
I still regret selling my 1950 MT-N N because it was the 3 wheel version back in 2018. Only thing I didn't like about it was they were terrible to get on and off of and mine ALWAYS would start. It might take 30 minutes to get it started but it always would start.
I'm almost through rebuilding a 1954 model 60 John Deere and looking at the condition of your tractor I would not want to tackle that job I don't think I have the energy anymore lol😁
Hey Dave!! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas 🎄 this thing would probably cost you more than it's worth. But hey if you got the cash make it rain ☔ Have a happy new year!!
advertise for parts tractor is serious restortion people looking for odd ball parts, but mostly the tin on it is worth few hundreds. the tin looks awesome
They say that David is a common name. I’m David, car Wizard’s name is David. Both of my neighbors back in Portland, on both sides were named David. Both heavy D and Diesel Dave! And our house too! It’s a daveapalozza!
Never scrap a reactor like that. It will be a parts tractor at least. There is a lot of parts there. Often you need to take 2 parts tractors to make one good one.
Risk versus reward is the economics theory I would use. I see that tractor equates to Hoovies Bentley Turbo R, with the R having a better chance to go one more mile down the road. The hours of searching for parts, then time needed to disassemble, reassemble and cost to purchase replacement items I can’t see how you could make a profit. But, I have been wrong before. Keep the cameras 🎥 rolling and we will be watching! Thanks guys!
yeah, much is minor replacements but the multitude of parts and overall cost....prohibit it from coming back to be rebuilt. The deal breaker for me was the welded frame broke in half. Yeah the weld looks great and i'm sure they did their best to align things...but it'll never run or be aligned the same.
You have some great parts on that tractor, but being that the axle housing and engine already have been fixed, it kind of tells a story as to the rough life this poor girl has had. I think I would find another MT and maybe use parts from this one. another option is maybe doing some part swapping with Polks or an Antique tractor salvage yard. These tractors are great tractors. I have a friend that has an M and uses it around his place for nearly every job, including logging. In my families collection we had an MT with the wide front and the rear toolbar with an sickle mower. Man I miss that tractor! Thanks for sharing. www.therbcollection.org
People are always looking for a challenge when restoring a tractor. That being said, everything is replaceable/rebuildable, but you'll spend more than it's value getting it to run, never mind move. If you really want to rebuild a tractor with broken/welded axle castings and a locked up motor, it's definitely doable. No one would be upset about it. But that one is parts. Reluctantly. I never want to part out tractors with cosmetics that nice, but it's too much work for a novice, never mind a beginner.
Technically true, but is it actually worth it, and would you see that money back at the end if it wasn't really rare. No I used to restore some older stuff for pleasure, and fix more modern tractors for resale. It got tough to make anything about 10 years ago on the newer stuff with parts and machine shop prices for work a guy couldn't do himself.. If you want to see what a running vintage tractor back to near show room is worth, go see the IH farmall cost video squatch253 put up a while ago after their restoration.
To make any call I would tear into it and see what it like . you can never say for shur unless you look into it . that way if you still part it out you no what it like on the inside
To me you do not scrap a tractor it is either a parts tractor or if it is to bad for a parts tractor it could be yard art but if it gets to the point if it is to rotten and falling apart when you move it then sadly it should be scraped.
I think it needs too much work to make it worth it if you are going to flip it. There is still a lot of good parts on it though, you should be able to make some money by parting it out.
There all parts tractors it all depends on how much money you want to spend to keep it a running tractor or make it a running tractor 2 cylinder Deere’s are not cheap but they don’t make them anymore so if you can save one do it. I saved a 1937 jd A it’s only worth 1,500$ I’ve got twice that into it but it is number 5 built in 1937 plus it’s mine and nothing runs like a Deere
Check out various jd groups on Facebook you can get any used part you need for that tractor. It's a shame but the new thing these days is guys goin out and buying perfectly good running jd 2 cylinders just to part them out. So if you've got a chance to save one the please save it.
Please. At least TRY to restore it. This could be an amazing tractor restoration and it would give the poor old thing a new chance at life. I vote RESTORE!!
Oh my God I owe you the world's biggest apology I am so sorry I forgot you were coming down today the work phones dead so if you try to message me through that I never got it I just checked the messages on this video and seeing yours I forget how far you were coming but I owe you the world's biggest apology
The MT is a tricycle version of the model M. It was the first Deere tractor to feature dual-control Touch-O-Matic hydraulics, allowing each side to be raised independently. The MT was available with a single front wheel, dual front wheels, Roll-O-Matic, or adjustable wide-front.
Not any profit in fixing it. Too valuable too scrap. Parts tractor. You bought it at a good price and not doing anything to it you could resell it for a reasonable profit if your not interested in selling it one part at a time.
