I'm sure the kid was talking trash forgetting the fact that this guy is a all-star. Just because he's on the same court with you don't mean y'all in the same league
Crazy how people think he's playing hard. Have you seen how fast this man really is? He's the fastest man in the NBA. Have you really seen how deadly his handles are? No way in hell he was playing foreal.
Call someone out to 1v1 then too afraid to play defense. Hate when people do that. I can Understand the “strategy” behind letting him shoot, but don’t try and 1v1 if you already know you can’t stay in front lol.
Everyone says John Wall's an asshole for acting like this to high schoolers. Here's the thing, these kids WANT to be the best one day, Wall shows them how big the difference really is between him and them. If they don't know how good they HAVE to be to make it, they'll always be satisfied with how they are and never push them self.
+Christian Coleman Even so, kid was tryna style on him and get in his grill in what started as a pick up game, and at one point even throw an elbow or slap (couldn't tell). If some HS did that to me I'd smack him. He was probably talking shit too, I can't see Wall instigating shit talk.
although Kobe would've never let this kid score. That's the legend of Kobe. He's on Mike's level. You'll score 0 unless you start the game with a 7 point lead on him. Even then, you'll go on to score 0 points.
John Wall has to play against in the NBA with Stephen Curry, Kyle Lowery, Kyrie Irving, Chris Paul and alot more great talented PG he has to play against. Don't talk if you can't bring it. Ignorance
And don't feel intimated either. The kid has skill; that's pretty clear. Champions are always ready to do battle against anyone. It is a healthy thing to see emerging talent per se take on those already established and skilled.
One of the greatest chess players in the history of the game will match anyone because he doesn't think of himself above anyone else. You take pride in your skill, but you also love to compete, and take no one lightly. Basketball like anything else should be no different.
Actually a great attitude towards a prima-donna a lot of kids get the heads boosted and think they're going to the league and stop working hard and being humble but they really fall short.
I'm sure running his mouth but what I'm saying is Wall did the right thing because kids get the big head all the time and think they can say anything to anybody because they think their on his same road of success but Wall really sat up and gave him a reality check because the kid is not that good and probably think his better than he actually is who knows somebody in the gym might have told him to do it..
How are you gonna say he did a good job having an attitude and talking shyt to a nice kid that is just playing basketball. Your saying the kid deserved to put up with Walker's shyt because he thinks he has a fighting chance? You are also saying Walker should talk shyt and play with his fists balled up against every kid that he plays that thinks they have a chance of being a pro ball player like him? You sound like a complete idiot.
Lol John needa chill but sometimes these high schoolers will get a big head and believe any hype . The cam made John look like the enemy but who knows the kid probably had a mouth on him
We don't want courtesy in our athletes. When he's on the court, Wall has to live up to a different standard. The very nature of sports, competitiveness, demands it. He's out there working and y'all want him to go soft? Hell nah
I appreciate Wall schooling the kid to give him some perspective, but why all the drama? Just embarrass the kid, throw him a peace sign, then drop the mic and walk away. Why punch the ball and all that nonsense? But then John is still pretty young himself so...I guess they both have some growing to do.
Also people don't remember Jordan came played one one one against Michael Finley when Finley was an all American. Also after he retired in 98 he played some rookie and beat him 10 -0 to prove a point. And Kobe played kyrie Irving when murine was 19 yrs old. ASs whippings do more good then harm. ITS TRADITION!!
What do you want him to kiss his boo boos and say it's going to be alright, trash talking is apart of the game. It lights a fire under you're opponent for them to play better, it gives you motivation....and I love it.
Although the kid is naturally talented, he’s raw as Hell and super skinny; if you put a dime on his head, he’d look like a nail! If he submits to coaching and hit the gym, he may do something down the road.
Juwan bland is nice as hell but he's not an Andrew wiggins or a Julius randle. John wall should be playing a high school phenom that's bigger than him instead of a high school player that's good but not even ranked.
Don t just embarrass a high school kid (he s pretty good though) , go play ONE ON ONE with KYRIE !!!! Uncle Drew will school you!!!!! BTW go practice your shooting it sucks
Why is it always high school kids always running their mouths to the pros? Has it ever dawned on them that maybe the NBA pays these guys MILLIONS of dollars for a reason? lol
John Wall seems to get called out by a lot of people. I understand he has his pride, but why does he let everyone get under his skin so easily? He's in the NBA for a reason, I don't know why he concerns himself with these individuals.
If yall look at the right way he teaching the kid a lesson that kid prolly walked around high school thinking he was untouchable its good he got grounded a bit so tht he keeps striving to be better and can eventually beat John Wall....any real bball player knows John Wall was definitely not going 100% at the kid RELAX PEOPLE
there's a lot of videos on youtube with john wall teaching highschool kids that he is better than them. is that like a side profession, where he goes around, winning over young boys in basketball, while talking trash. nba 50% and showing off to highschool children 50%
It's not like Wall took this kid to the hole every time. Every time but once he had to pull up for a jumper. Yeah he hit them all and yeah he dunked in this kid's mouth, but he's an NBA ALL STAR. Are we supposed to expect something less? Good job, kid.
bad job kid.. show some respect. of course he shouldnt beat Wall but he was here. showing love ballin with kids who never get to ball with NBA players, he wasnt there to talk shit or challenge ppl. kid should have known his place. he died r.i.p so dont matter now anyway
Juwan bland looks good. Very confident shot. does not mind taking on the challenge. It seems he has much less confidence in his handle and his leap is a question at his height ( finishing capability) Good young talent.
John is acting like a high schooler, maybe even worse. Beat his ass calmly and professionally without getting all heated and making yourself look easily taunted and childish.
+0207xander that "child" needs to respect his elders instead of instigating and throwing hands, especially when that elder is a professional in the nba. he learned a valuable lesson.
***** there's a difference between John Wall quietly kicking his ass and embarrassing the highschool kid to the point where he learns his lesson versus throwing a tantrum in front of a bunch of kids and setting a horrible behavioral example.
He's at the Reebok breakout camp. A lot of College coaches go there to scout talent. That's where jwall first got noticed. Went in being called the kid from nc. Came out #1 guard. That's how he went to Kentucky. He's just there to support the new kids there
Ok just what it says Lil dude in high school. John wall a pro and he trash talking the lil man. The fact dude scored I give him the W. If that was Kobe the kid wouldn't have scored.
I played one-on-one with Dave Cowens when I was 18 (it was 1975) and beat him 11-0. Bad shooting day for him and he was not taking me seriously until the last 2 points.
i think its cool to see NBA players humble these youngsters lol. It lets them know they still have a long way to go to be great. Its not as easy as they think
high school kids are quite cocky sometimes, most times way too cocky. If a high school kid feels that he's already at the top of his class, he needs a challenger from a higher level, getting carried away by giving self way too much confidence, a bigger and more fierceful predator would take any taunt as a challenge. Very much like MJ teaching OJ Mayo a lesson at one of his camps when OJ taunted MJ saying he's the best high school basketball player alive, and MJ had to show the kid why he was the best player in the world, needless to say OJ was embarrassed and lesson learned
Wow I see so much hate on this about John playing extra hard.. you see videos of Kobe Bryant playing against even younger guys and not giving them a chance, I don't see people calling him a douche coz of it
I like it when there is a cool video showing people trash talking and yapping about other players, but we get to hear music instead of what they are saying.
What happened can go multiple ways JUST BASED on WATCHING. They disrespect him, he just shows them why they should have respect for him. Wall goes "HAM", to try to bring out the best in others.
I just dont get where these kids, or even people in general challenge NBA players, these guys do it for a living, they get paid MILLIONS TO PLAY BASKETBALL. Even someone like dion waiters or michael beasley will bust anybody ass at your local park
its called a shot fake, its like a hesitation and you want him to think you're gonna raise for a jumper. the hand he's bringing to the ball doesn't actually touch it
Sports Guru yeah but even during a shot fake you aren't allowed to put your hand underneath the ball. A correct shot fake is more slowing the down the shooting motion a long with a head fake and bringing your hand near the ball as if to shoot, with out putting your hand underneath like you would for a real shot. I still think it's a carry.
If ya'll really upset about the way John Wall treated him , then some of you don't deserve to be anywhere NEAR a basketball court. This is our culture. John Wall better talk to me the SAME way if we played 1on1 if I was trash talking him myself.. It's the way we play the game. If you can't understand that, That's why YOU don't play, period.
This 1vs1 makes no sense. He's barely even defending wall lmao. And why's wall so upset for. It's a high schooler. That apparently got that easily in your heaf
i hate how people think they're better than an NBA player like John Wall in playing a game or 1 V 1. Try playing at your age ,when you were trash talking to that NBA star, in the nba and score/assist/rebound etc. more than John Wall Like in this video that Slim Reaper cant even guard
Let's be real. The young guy has no heart. His demeanor screamed schoolyard diva. He's all cool and shit talking when he's dropping crossovers amd dunks on shit opponents, but when wall started to school him he just crumbled. He wants to be the next lebron, but he has no idea why they're in different solar systems. Put that schoolyard shit behind you.
John Wall should be called for palming every other play. Why does he need to palm the ball in order to get by a defender?.. The dunk was clearly violation. It should have been that he picked up his dribble, as soon as his hand went under, so the kid is frozen, because John Wall shouldn't be able to dribble any more. And I don't want street ball cats telling me that it's ok for street ball. John Wall is a professional, gets played to ball, shouldn't have to have a mad violation in order to get by and dunk on some kid. John Wall is sick, but the game is getting soft with how blatant these violations are, real talent for a proper crossover and skill to get by the defender is a thing of the past. Tim Hardaway would be shaking his head.
no offense but john wall travels like a mother. holy crap i hate that shit when i guard quick people like that and they do that hesistation move where they basically carry/pick up their dribble its almost impossible to guard.
0:45 i just cant get over that...yo core gotta be explosive and strong asf to dunk somebody like that...yea yo legs do too, but look at john wall cab muscles and shit they dont look as buff as u think...they not skinny but normal like the right size
John wall made those kids better. They wouldn't of wanted to go vs a laxidasical John Wall because they are trying to measure themselves up against him, trying to see how they stack up. I play in college and I some over seas players who I try to do the same thing with. They win most of the time. But it's getting me better. Besides John Wall is 23yrs old he's only like 5yrs older than them.
I doubt anyone from the NBA would just walk out and start picking on kids. Judging from John's "temper" and the kid's actions, (especially when he swung at John at 1:30), the kid got to thinking he was hot shit and ran off at the mouth until John put him in his place. There's a lot of talent in younger generations to be developed, but usually there's also a huge level of arrogance and ignorance with it that needs to be put in check before it gets out of hand. This video is a PRIME example.
That's how you suppose to do them. Don't matter how old they are, they have to learn respect and learn how to actually play before you talk about someone game or call them out. I do my nephew and the young men I teach the same way because it's guys out there that is bigger, stronger, faster, and jump higher than you out there, plus they're just as hungry. Especially, if your trying to play ball on that level.
