It only works at the beginning of movies or on non-important bad guys. If the final badguy just gets shot and dies, that’s a bit underwhelming especially since there was a bunch of build up just for him to die instantly.
I am glad someone pointed that out. The entire conversation, that high table guy was literally pleading to be shot. And John being John, accepted his plead.

The whole "Elder" thing is a bit of a mess within the story tbh. Having the Elder apparently be so important in 3, then in 4 him being so unimportant and shown to be easily replaceable.
One man has nothing to lose because his soul can never be lost under any circumstances another has nothing to lose because his soul is dead and he has already lost everything. The first man is far more dangerous than him. Having nothing to lose is not a level playing field because All physical existence backs the first man and opposes the second. For most the statement is a non sequitur, people trying to appropriate what will never apply to them or belong to them.
Best way to have a fifth movie is if they keep him dead here and amp up the action by showing us a John Wick in his prime before he leaves or his duties he does before leaving the table and marrying Helen That’d make a great ending to the whole series

Exploring John Wick's past is a terrible idea. It ruins the badass, mysterious nature of the character. That's part of why the character works so well.

Plus they foolishly escalated this war against john just because johnkilled the man who put a several million dollar bounty on him after he John did a mission for him. How did the high table not figure this out they could have stopped this without targeting john who didn't even want to get back into the mission .
